Tarkwa Area Builds Skills Acquisition Centre At Tarkwa Prisons

In line with its mission to transform society through the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda, the Tarkwa Area of The Church of Pentecost has constructed and dedicated a Skills Acquisition Centre at the Tarkwa Local Prison, valued at GHC 156,771.00.

The facility, equipped with various modern tools, was commissioned on April 11, 2025, by the Area Head, Apostle Dr David Nyansah Hayfron. The project began under the leadership of Apostle Dr Daniel Okyere Walker (now retired), who cut the sod for its commencement on June 12, 2024.

Designed to develop inmates’ skills in carpentry and electrical work, the centre aims to make them employable and self-reliant upon their release, thereby reducing recidivism and crime rates in the country. During the commissioning event, the church provided packed lunches for over 280 inmates after sharing the gospel with them.

The Commander of the Tarkwa Local Prison, Elder ADP Simon Kwao Abofra, expressed gratitude to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, for introducing the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda and to the Tarkwa Area for successfully completing the project.

Elder Kofi Sam Donates GHS 10,000.00 To Support Late Pastor Eric Kumi’s Family

Elder Eric Kofi Sam, Chief Executive Officer of Erpreben Travel and Tour, has donated GHS 10,000.00 to support the family of the late Pastor Eric Kumi, former District Minister of Topbase in the Odorkor Area of The Church of Pentecost.

The donation, made during a heartfelt farewell service held on Saturday, March 16, 2025, is specifically to help cater for the educational needs of the late pastor’s child, covering school fees and hostel accommodation.

Pastor Eric Kumi sadly passed away after a period of illness, leaving behind a wife and children. In line with the Church’s custom, a farewell service was organised to officially relieve the bereaved family of ministerial duties and to offer prayers, encouragement, and support.

During the service, which was charged with emotions, Elder Kofi Sam, who also serves as Principal Assistant to the Odorkor Area Head, Apostle Isaac Tetteh Juddah, felt led to make the generous donation as a practical show of love and solidarity.

Apostle Isaac Tetteh Juddah, in commending Elder Sam for his exemplary kindness, described the gesture as a true reflection of Christian love and fellowship. He prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon him, his family, and his business.

The touching moment brought comfort to the bereaved family and inspired many at the service, reinforcing the Church’s call for believers to stand with one another in times of need.

There Are No Strong Vessels in Marriage — Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe Avers

Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, Head of Ministerial Formation and Training at Pentecost University (PU), has challenged conventional mindsets on authority and strength in marital homes.

Speaking on the theme, “No Strong Vessel at Home” at a marriage ceremony at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Sakumono, Apostle Tsekpoe revealed deep biblical insights into God’s original blueprint for marriage, emphasising that the institution of marriage was never designed for dominance or superiority, but for unity, mutual submission, mutual support and purpose.

Quoting Genesis 2:18–22, Apostle Tsekpoe walked the congregation through the divine origin of marriage — a union birthed not from convenience, but from God’s own wisdom and love. “It was not good for man to be alone,” the Apostle reiterated, “so God fashioned a helper suitable for him — not inferior, not subordinate, not a destroyer but complementary helper.”

He further explained that in 1 Peter 3:7, where the Bible refers to the woman as the “weaker vessel,” it does not suggest the man is a “strong vessel.” Rather, both husband and wife are vessels — weak and weaker — needing each other to become one complete, strong and functioning whole. “If the woman is the weaker vessel, then by implication, the man is the weak vessel. God never intended for a strong vessel to dominate in the home,” he emphasised.

Apostle Tsekpoe illuminated the symbolic mystery of the rib — that God created the woman out of one rib from man. He noted, “The missing rib signifies the incompleteness of man without his wife. When you marry the right woman — the one ordained by God — she becomes the divine replacement of your lost rib.”

He went on to underscore the woman’s God-given role as a helper (Genesis 2:20), stating, “If your wife cannot detect your weakness and help you fix it, then she may not be the one sent by God. A helper is not just present — she is purposeful.”

In what many called a deeply reflective moment, the Apostle charged husbands to never get disappointed in their wives simply because they see flaws. “You were warned already — she’s the weaker vessel. Your role is to support, nurture, encourage, improve and advance her,” he said. He challenged wives too, noting that if the challenges in a man’s life multiply after marriage, the helper may have failed in her assignment.

Tying his message with practical wisdom, Apostle Tsekpoe declared that any marriage that ends in divorce is not a failure of one partner, but of both. “Whether Christian or not, if you understand marriage, you should not fail at it. Marriage is partnership — two people agreeing to make it work.” That is why there is no place for divorce in the Bible.

He likened a thriving marriage to fertile ground where even weeds may grow. “But when weeds appear — challenges and misunderstandings — don’t get angry at the crop. Instead, work together to uproot the weed.”

Concluding with a powerful call to action, Apostle Tsekpoe urged couples to treat one another with dignity, and to live their marriage in such a way that God will look upon it and say, ‘This union brought Me glory.’

He ended by declaring, “When the weak vessel is united with the weaker vessel, through divine alignment, they become a strong and mighty vessel — an enviable union to the glory of God.” This is the mystery of marriage.

May God grant us divine insight to marry, and marry well.

Adom Estate Assembly Church Auditorium Dedicated web

Adom Estate Assembly Church Auditorium Dedicated

The Adom Estate Assembly church auditorium in the Akweley District of the Downtown-Ofaakor Area of The Church of Pentecost has been dedicated.

The dedication service, held on March 30, 2025, was officiated by the Downtown-Ofaakor Area Head, Apostle William Kojo Edzorhoho.

The Adom Estate Assembly was established in July 2004, following a three-day evangelistic rally at the Adom Estate bus stop. It was part of the then Kasoa North District under the then Accra West Area of the church, with Apostle S. K. Ansong (now retired) as the Area Head and Pastor Opoku Kissi (now retired) as the District Minister. The first Presiding Elder of the assembly was Elder Silas Nuel.

The church began with just 14 members, meeting at the porch of Deaconess Akwettey. Over time, its numbers grew significantly, making it necessary to get a dedicated worship space.

Several ministers played instrumental roles in the growth of the assembly, including Prophet Robert K. Dentu, Apostle E. C. Asante (now retied), Apostle Samuel Antwi (now retired), Apostle Dr Benjamin Ali (now retired), Pastor Kofi Anyane Asare (now retired), Pastor Emmanuel Kwabena Ansah, and Pastor Emmanuel Asane Bimpong (now retired), with Pastor Alexander Ansong, the current minister, completing it.

Delivering the sermon at the dedication service on the theme, ‘Zeal for Your House Has Consumed Me’ (John 2:13-17), Pastor Daniel Onyame-Tease reflected on Jesus’ fervent act of driving traders out of the temple. He noted that the sight of Jesus scattering the coins of money changers and overturning their tables was both unprecedented and shocking to the Jewish leaders and the public.

He explained that Jesus’ actions stemmed from His consuming zeal for His Father’s house. He defined zeal as dedication and enthusiasm toward a cause, highlighting its biblical significance as a burning desire to honour God, fulfill His will, and bring glory to Him. He likened zeal to ‘holy jealousy,’ ‘godly jealousy,’ or ‘holy anger’ in pursuit of God’s purpose.

Citing examples of King Cyrus, Zerubbabel, Nehemiah, and Ezra, Pastor Onyame-Tease indicated how their zeal for the Lord enabled them to advance God’s mission in their time. He encouraged the congregation to pray for an authentic zeal that would drive the ‘Unleashing Agenda’ of the church forward.

In his closing remarks, the Area Head, Apostle Edzorhoho, emphasized the necessity of zeal, especially in a time when many have become spiritually lukewarm and followers of the crowd. He expressed his satisfaction with the prudent use of funds and commended the leadership and members of the Adom Estate Assembly for their commitment to the project.

The service was attended by ministers and their spouses from the Area, including Apostle Samuel Antwi (retd) and his wife.

PIWC-Ho Observes Cultural Sunday As Part Of Heritage Month Celebrations

The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Ho marked a vibrant Cultural Sunday on March 16, 2025, as part of the Heritage Month celebrations.

The intergenerational service brought together children and adults dressed in diverse cultural attire to worship.

A highlight of the event was a captivating dance performance by the Volta Regional Centre for National Culture, which received thunderous applause from the congregation.

Eli the Poet also graced the occasion, delivering a poem emphasising the harmony between tradition and Christianity, with the memorable line: ‘In the embrace of our culture, we should worship God.’

Deaconess Lydia Nyarko-Ampomah, who serves as both a church leader and Volta Regional Director for the Centre for National Culture, delivered an inspiring sermon titled ‘Celebrating Our Culture, Reflecting God’s Glory.’

Drawing from scriptures such as Proverbs 22:8, Ephesians 4:1, and Matthew 5:16, she encouraged members to appreciate their Ghanaian heritage while living lives that reflect their faith.

She indicated that culture and faith should unite rather than divide. She, therefore, advised Christians to embrace opportunities to serve as chiefs or queens in their communities.

She further urged parents to intentionally pass down positive aspects of Ghanaian culture, including local languages, to future generations. She stressed the importance of preserving cultural traditions, saying, ‘Walking the ancient path is not wrong at all; look for the good ones and walk in it.’

There was a team from Gideon’s International who participated in the service.

The celebrations also included a cooking competition held on Saturday, March 15, where various ministries showcased their culinary skills in preparing local dishes.

The Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) emerged as the winners in this contest.

CHAIRMAN NYAMEKYE URGES CHRISTIANS TO UNDERSTAND STRUCTURAL AUTHORITY OF THE CH web

Chairman Nyamekye Urges Christians To Understand Structural Authority Of The Church

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, has called on Christians, especially leaders of the Church, to understand the structural authority to avoid comparisons and conflicts within the Church.

In a live broadcast of the Special Sunday Evening Service on Pent TV on March 30, 2025, Chairman Nyamekye spoke on “The Two Kinds of Kingdom Authority,” highlighting structural and spiritual authority as two distinct forms of authority in God’s Kingdom.

Focusing on the structural authority, he explained that it pertains to special envoys in the body of Christ sent to the local church. He referenced Ephesians 4:8, 11-12 and Acts 13:1-3, describing those in structural authority as diplomatic agents and accredited messengers who are set apart unto God for specific tasks. He emphasised that these individuals are not just ordinary people; they are carefully selected based on moral and spiritual requirements, as prescribed in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and Acts 6. He added that, even in the Old Testament, Moses was instructed to look for certain qualities when selecting individuals to become leaders of the community of believers.

Chairman Nyamekye stressed that leadership in the Church is not self-appointed but divinely ordained, referencing Hebrews 5:1, 4-5.

“No one takes this authority upon themselves. The Bible states that Jesus selected the disciples He wanted, and He is still selecting people He wants today. It is not so much about who is good but about whom He wants—that is whom He chooses,” he explained, urging believers to find contentment in their roles within the church as determined by Christ.

Concluding, Apostle Eric Nyamekye underscored the limited scope of the structural authority, stating, “When someone has a structural authority, it is for the structure. It does not go beyond the structure.”
