The event was hosted by the District Minister, Overseer Joel Kwesi Baidoo, and his wife, Mrs. Ethel Baidoo. They were joined by Overseer Isaac Adjei Baffour and his wife from the Buya District, who came to support and participate in the occasion.

The programme featured a variety of uplifting activities, beginning with a word of exhortation from Overseer Baidoo, who shared on the love of Christ and the importance of faith in every season of life. This was followed by a joyful feast and a powerful prayer session, uniting the congregation in worship and thanksgiving.

PENTECOST FIRE STATION PROJECT TIMELY AND STRATEGIC— INTERIOR MINISTER web

Pentecost Fire Station Project Timely & Strategic— Interior Minister

The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, has commended The Church of Pentecost for what he described as a “timely and strategic contribution” to Ghana’s national safety infrastructure through the construction of the newly commissioned Pentecost Fire Station at Gomoa Yesukrom.

Speaking at the commissioning and dedication ceremony held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, the Minister praised the Church for its forward-thinking approach to public safety.

“This facility could not have come at a better time,” he stated. “It will significantly improve emergency response times in Gomoa Yesukrom and surrounding communities, while also reducing the operational burden on the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the area.”

Hon. Muntaka noted that this latest intervention by the Church adds to a growing list of security-related infrastructure provided by The Church of Pentecost in recent years. He highlighted several such projects, including two state-of-the-art correctional facilities—Inmates Skills Acquisition and Reformation Centres—at Ejura and Nsawam, aimed at transforming the lives of prison inmates, two new correctional facilities currently under construction at Obuasi and Damongo, with the Damongo centre scheduled for commissioning in June 2025, three police stations, two of which have been completed and handed over to the Ghana Police Service. The third, located in Kawampe (Kintampo Area), is set to be commissioned in June 2025.

He admitted that the Church’s support has impacted every arm of the interior ministry, adding that this level of partnership between faith-based institutions and the state should be encouraged and emulated.

He expressed deep appreciation to the leadership and members of The Church of Pentecost for their love and commitment to community well-being, describing the Pentecost Fire Station as a gift of love to the nation.

“This is not just a government facility—it is your fire station, built for you by one of your own,” the Minister emphasised. “You have demonstrated how collective responsibility can bring lasting solutions.”

The new facility includes is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including administrative offices, an IT/Monitoring Room, conference room, four syndicate rooms, and separate crew quarters for male and female personnel.

The Minister also reiterated the government’s plans to retool the GNFS to improve its efficiency. He announced a forthcoming certification programme for fuel attendants and tanker drivers, to be administered by the GNFS, making fire safety training mandatory for employment in those sectors.

He concluded with an appeal to other religious and corporate organisations to follow the example of The Church of Pentecost, calling their initiative “a national asset that will benefit generations.”

The idea for the fire station was conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic when the PCC served as an isolation centre. The then Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Julius A. Kuunor, deployed personnel to ensure fire safety at the facility. A risk assessment revealed the absence of a nearby fire station, with the closest located at the Kasoa Overpass and Budumburam.

Recognising the urgent need, and in line with its Possessing the Nations agenda, the leadership of The Church of Pentecost took up the responsibility to construct and donate the fully equipped fire station to the GNFS.

“MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE” — CHAIRMAN DEFENDS CHURCH’S SOCIAL INTERVENTIONS web

“More Blessed To Give Than To Receive” — Chairman Defends Church’s Social Interventions

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has reiterated that the Church’s growing investment in national infrastructure and community development is not a show of affluence, but a faithful expression of biblical values.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Pentecost Fire Station on May 14, 2025, Apostle Nyamekye quoted Acts 20:35: “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” emphasising that the Church’s developmental projects stem from a Christ-centred mission, not from financial surplus.

“We are doing all these not because we have in abundance,” he explained, “but to demonstrate the love of Christ and contribute meaningfully to national growth.”

He further quoted former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt, saying, “What is done for the community lives beyond the individual,” to underscore the Church’s vision of creating lasting impact through legacy-driven development.

The Chairman noted that the newly commissioned fire station is part of broader church-led interventions that strengthen Ghana’s national security and emergency response systems. He reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to strategic partnerships with government institutions to advance national development.

Apostle Nyamekye listed some of the Church’s key infrastructure projects, including two police stations, two prison reformation centres (Ejura and Nsawam), with additional centres under construction at Obuasi and Damongo. The Damongo facility is expected to be commissioned in June 2025.

In the social sector, the Church has also made significant strides. Between 2019 and 2024, it installed 239 mechanised boreholes across underserved communities, benefitting more than 110,000 people. The Church is currently constructing five new health facilities—including a specialist hospital—to add to its 12 existing medical centres.

Apostle Nyamekye emphasised that these efforts are not merely acts of charity, but a practical demonstration of the Church’s mission to transform society with Kingdom values.

“As a church, we believe that we have been called not only to worship God but also to serve His purpose within society,” he said.

Pentecost Fire Station First-Ever Fire Station Built By A Private Institution In Ghana web

Pentecost Fire Station: First-Ever Fire Station Built By A Private Institution In Ghana

The newly commissioned Pentecost Fire Station, fully funded, built, and furnished by The Church of Pentecost, has been described as the first-ever fire station constructed by a private institution in Ghana—and one of the most beautiful and well-equipped in the country.

This was disclosed by Madam Daniella Mawusi Ntow-Sarpong, Acting Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), during her welcome address at the official commissioning and handover ceremony held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh.

“For the first time in our history, a religious organisation has built and handed over a fully functional fire station to the Ghana National Fire Service,” Madam Ntow-Sarpong noted. “This facility is not only beautiful but meets high operational standards, and it is a testament to what faith-based institutions can contribute to national development.”

She emphasised that the investment by The Church of Pentecost is a significant contribution to the safety and wellbeing of citizens and will greatly enhance the operational efficiency of the GNFS in the Gomoa enclave and beyond.

“This fire station brings us closer to the people we serve. It is a demonstration of how partnerships between public service and faith-based institutions can positively impact the entire nation,” she stated.

Madam Ntow-Sarpong further highlighted that the collaboration with The Church of Pentecost goes beyond infrastructure. The Church has also provided a Chaplain to minister to the spiritual needs of GNFS personnel, in line with its holistic approach to ministry—one that seeks to save both lives and souls.

“Nation-building is not the sole responsibility of the state. It is a shared responsibility,” she stressed. “Corporate bodies and religious organisations must emulate this remarkable act. Fire safety is a collective duty, and the Ghana National Fire Service cannot do it alone.”

She expressed deep gratitude to the leadership and members of The Church of Pentecost for what she described as a generous and unprecedented donation that has set a high standard for future partnerships.

“Together,” she concluded, “we can build a nation where communities are safe, lives are protected, and every citizen plays a part in our collective development.”

The Pentecost Fire Station, completed within 18 months, is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including administrative offices, an IT/Monitoring Room, conference room, four syndicate rooms, and separate crew quarters for male and female personnel. The station is expected to significantly reduce emergency response times in Gomoa Yesukrom, Gomoa Fetteh, and neighbouring communities.

The initiative to establish a fire station in the Gomoa Yesukrom community originated during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) was repurposed as an isolation centre. At the time, the then Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Julius A. Kuunor, deployed a team of fire officers to provide fire cover for the facility. Following a comprehensive risk assessment, it became evident that there was a critical need for a fire station within the community, as the nearest stations were located at the Kasoa Overpass and Budumburam—both a significant distance away.

In line with its “Possessing the Nations” agenda, the leadership of The Church of Pentecost recognised the urgency of the situation and responded to the request of the Ghana National Fire Service by constructing a fully equipped fire station. This facility is now positioned to primarily serve the Gomoa Yesukrom community, while also extending emergency services to the broader Gomoa Fetteh area and its surrounding communities.

GOMOA EAST MP HAILS PENTECOST FIRE STATION PROJECT web

Gomoa East MP Hails Pentecost Fire Station Project

Hon. Dr. Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, Member of Parliament for the Gomoa East Constituency, has lauded The Church of Pentecost for its foresight and commitment in constructing an ultra-modern fire station at Gomoa Yesukrom.

Speaking at the commissioning and dedication ceremony held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the MP described the project as a “tremendous initiative” worthy of emulation.

The idea to establish a fire station in the area was conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) served as an isolation centre. At the time, the then Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Julius A. Kuunor, deployed a team of fire officers to provide safety coverage for the facility. A subsequent risk assessment revealed a critical gap in fire protection services in the area, with the nearest stations located at the Kasoa Overpass and Budumburam—both several kilometres away.

In response to an appeal from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), and in line with its Possessing the Nations agenda, the leadership of The Church of Pentecost accepted the challenge and fully funded the construction of the fire station. The facility, which was executed within 18 months, now stands as a beacon of safety and community service for Gomoa Yesukrom, Gomoa Fetteh, and surrounding towns.

Hon. Dr. Paitoo praised the Church for responding to a national need with such urgency and excellence. “This is a model of partnership and patriotism. If other institutions were to emulate this example, Ghana would be far advanced,” he remarked.

During the event, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, outlined similar interventions by the Church across the country. He highlighted the construction of two police stations, two prison reformation centres (in Ejura and Nsawam), and two more currently under construction in Obuasi and Damongo. The Damongo facility is expected to be commissioned in June 2025.

In addition to enhancing security infrastructure, the Church has significantly impacted Ghana’s water, health, and education sectors. From 2019 to 2024, The Church of Pentecost installed 239 mechanised boreholes in deprived communities, benefiting over 110,000 people. Five new health facilities—including a specialist hospital—are currently under construction to add to the 12 already operational under the Church’s health ministry.

Apostle Nyamekye reiterated that these acts of service are not displays of excess wealth, but expressions of biblical faith in action. “We are not doing this because we have more than enough. We are simply living out the words of our Lord Jesus Christ in Acts 20:35: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Ultra-Modern “Pentecost Fire Station” Commissioned

The Church of Pentecost has commissioned a state-of-the-art fire station at Gomoa Yesukrom, near the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) in the Gomoa East District, to bolster emergency response services within the area and its environs.

The facility was officially handed over to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, during a commissioning ceremony held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Pentecost Convention Centre. The event brought together a host of dignitaries, including government officials, traditional leaders, and senior clergy.

The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak officially commissioned the facility with support from the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, and other key dignitaries including Madam Daniella Mawusi Ntow-Sarpong (Acting Chief Fire Officer, GNFS), Hon. Dr. Desmond De-Graft Paitoo (Member of Parliament, Gomoa East Constituency), and Hon. Margaret Naana Ackom (District Chief Executive).

Also in attendance were Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi (General Secretary), Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe (Missions Director), Executive Council Members, heads of churches, and officers of the GNFS.

The Pentecost Fire Station project was birthed during the COVID-19 pandemic following a risk assessment that identified a critical gap in fire safety coverage in the Gomoa enclave since the nearest two (2) were located at the Kasoa overpass and Budumburam. It forms part of the Church’s “Possessing the Nations” agenda—the ten-year vision of the Church aimed at transforming every sphere of society with Kingdom values and principles.

The new fire station, executed within 18 months, is fully equipped with modern amenities, including administrative offices, an IT/Monitoring Room, conference room, four syndicate rooms, and separate crew rooms for male and female personnel. The facility is expected to significantly reduce emergency response times in Gomoa Yesukrom, Gomoa Fetteh, and surrounding communities.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak commended The Church of Pentecost for what he described as a “timely and strategic contribution” to Ghana’s national safety infrastructure by constructing the newly commissioned Pentecost Fire Station at Gomoa Yesukrom.

“This facility could not have come at a better time,” he stated. “It will significantly improve emergency response times in Gomoa Yesukrom and surrounding communities, while also reducing the operational burden on the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the area.”

Hon. Muntaka noted that this latest intervention by the Church adds to a growing list of security-related infrastructure provided by The Church of Pentecost in recent years, adding that this level of partnership between faith-based institutions and the state should be encouraged and emulated.

Addressing the gathering, Apostle Eric Nyamekye stated that the commissioning of the fire station aligns with the Church’s broader commitment to national development and enhancing the national security infrastructure. He commended the Ghana National Fire Service for their dedication and reaffirmed the Church’s resolve to support state institutions.

The Chairman highlighted similar social interventions by the Church, including the construction of two police stations and two prison reformation centres in Ejura and Nsawam, with two more underway in Obuasi and Damongo. The Damongo facility is scheduled for commissioning in June 2025.

He further noted that from 2019 to 2024, the Church has provided 239 mechanised boreholes in deprived communities, serving over 110,000 beneficiaries. The Church is also constructing five new health facilities, including a specialist hospital, to complement the 12 already operational under its health ministry.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye reiterated that the Church’s growing investment in national infrastructure and community development is not a show of affluence, but a faithful expression of biblical values.

“We are doing all these not because we have in abundance,” he explained, “but to demonstrate the love of Christ and contribute meaningfully to national growth.”

Concluding his speech, Apostle Nyamekye officially handed over the PCC Fire Station to the Minister for the Interior, urging all stakeholders to play their part in supporting national institutions.

“As we officially commission this station, let us be reminded that safety is a shared responsibility. Firefighters will be here, ready to respond. But we, as a community, must continue to support them, respect their work, and take proactive steps toward fire prevention and emergency preparedness,” he said.

Madam Daniella Mawusi Ntow-Sarpong, in her address, emphasised that the investment by The Church of Pentecost is a significant contribution to the safety and wellbeing of citizens and will greatly enhance the operational efficiency of the GNFS in the Gomoa enclave and beyond.

The acting Chief Fire Officer of GNFS stated: “For the first time in our history, a religious organisation has built and handed over a fully functional fire station to the Ghana National Fire Service,” Madam Ntow-Sarpong noted. “This facility is not only beautiful but meets high operational standards, and it is a testament to what faith-based institutions can contribute to national development.”

“This fire station brings us closer to the people we serve. It is a demonstration of how partnerships between public service and faith-based institutions can positively impact the entire nation,” she further stated.

FORMER GENERAL SECRETARY AND WIFE DONATE VEHICLE TO ABURA GYABANKROM DISTRICT web

Former General Secretary And Wife Donate Vehicle To Abura Gyabankrom District

Apostle Albert Amoah (Retired), a former General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, together with his wife, Justice Julia Adjei Amoah (Retired High Court Judge and currently the Chief of Staff at the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Accra), has donated a KIA Sportage vehicle valued at GH₵150,000.00 to the Abura Gyabankrom District of the Church.

The donation was made on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, during a brief but significant presentation ceremony held at the couple’s residence in Abura Egotsia Kokodo, Apostle Amoah’s hometown in the Central Region.

Presenting the keys, Apostle Amoah expressed profound gratitude to God for His grace and provision, even in retirement. He emphasised that the gesture was a way of supporting the work of God in the District. He also encouraged the users of the vehicle to take good care of it and prayed that the purpose of the donation would be fully realised to the glory of God.

Receiving the keys on behalf of the Church, the Mankessim Area Head, Apostle Isaac Kofi Annan, thanked God and the donors for the timely and generous gesture. After inspecting the vehicle and praying over it, he handed it over to the District Minister, Overseer Bismark Bekoe, who also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the couple.

This donation comes as a major boost to the Abura Gyabankrom District, which has existed since 2001 without a dedicated vehicle. Earlier this year, in February 2025, the District had attempted to raise funds for the purchase of a vehicle through offerings, but the amount raised fell far short.

The unexpected gift from Apostle Albert and Justice Julia Adjei Amoah (Retired) has therefore brought great joy and relief to the leadership and members of the District.

Watch Yourselves - Apostle Samuel Oboubi Admonishes Christians web

Watch Yourselves – Apostle Samuel Obuobi Admonishes Christians

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has urged all Christians to be watchful in their walk with Christ so they do not fall prey to the schemes of the evil one.

He gave this admonition on Sunday, May 11, 2025, during a sermon at the Dar es Salaam Worship Centre in the Haatso Area of the Church.

Preaching from 2 John 7-8 on spiritual vigilance, Apostle Obuobi warned that “we must be careful in our actions, speech and doctrine so that we do not lose what we have worked for, but rather receive our full reward.”

Using the cautionary tale of Samson from Judges 16, the General Secretary illustrated how even the strongest can fall when they let down their guard. “Samson lost everything—his strength, his vision, and his freedom—because he failed to watch himself,” he said.

He further warned of modern-day deception, referencing 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, where Satan is described as disguising himself as “an angel of light.” “The enemy doesn’t always come looking dangerous,” he cautioned. “He often comes looking like everything you’ve ever wanted. That’s why we need constant discernment.”

According to him, any Christian who does not open his or her eyes very well and be watchful, might fall prey to this deception and lose his or her possessions in Christ. “The enemy doesn’t come looking dangerous,” he cautioned. “He comes as everything you’ve ever wanted. That’s why we need constant discernment.”

Apostle Obuobi stressed that Christians who are not alert risk losing their spiritual inheritance. He added that failure to stay watchful can lead to a loss of one’s testimony, which negatively impacts the Church’s Possessing the Nations agenda.

Ending his message, Apostle Obuobi reminded believers of their divine helper in this spiritual battle, who is the Holy Spirit, adding that, when believers yield to Him daily, He gives them the strength to overcome every trap and temptation.
