Scripture Is Authoritative, Inerrant, And Sufficient – Pastor Nti Affirms

The PENSA Travelling Secretary for the Madina Sector, Pastor Gabriel Nti, has reaffirmed the absolute authority and sufficiency of Scripture, declaring, “The Bible is authoritative, inerrant, and sufficient.”

Speaking at the opening session of the PENSA Ghana Leaders’ Retreat on Friday, September 19, 2025, he delivered a compelling exposition on the nature, structure, and relevance of God’s Word.

In a presentation rich in theological insight and practical wisdom, Pastor Nti emphasised the Bible’s divine origin, explaining that although it was written by over 40 authors across 1,400 years, it conveys a unified message inspired by the Holy Spirit.

“Scripture is not merely historical, it is alive and powerful,” he asserted, stressing that it is capable of shaping character, resisting sin, and guiding believers in truth.

He explored key themes such as canonicity, bibliology, and revelation—distinguishing between general revelation through nature and special revelation through Scripture and the person of Christ. Addressing contemporary linguistic and technological challenges, he encouraged believers to consult various translations while remaining anchored in the Spirit of the Word.

Pastor Nti challenged PENSA leaders to engage in deep, Spirit-led study of Scripture, commit to memorising the Word, and live lives shaped by its truth.

He concluded with a stirring call: “Those who trust in the authority of God’s Word will walk in strength, direction, and eternal life.”

The session, themed “The Bible,”set a compelling tone for the retreat, reminding leaders that true transformation begins with resolute confidence in God’s unchanging Word.

Keta PENSA-NMTC Brings Relief To Community With Bus Shelter Project

In a commendable demonstration of youth-led transformation under the “Possessing the Nations” agenda of The Church of Pentecost, the Keta Nursing and Midwifery Training College (NMTC) branch of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) has constructed a bus shelter for the Keta community.

The facility was officially commissioned on September 13, 2025, by Apostle Benjamin Aboagye, Aflao Area Head of The Church of Pentecost.

Speaking at the dedication ceremony, Apostle Aboagye lauded the students for their vision, sacrifice, and commitment to societal development.

“This is a reflection of Kingdom values in action,” he remarked, highlighting how the Church’s transformational agenda is being tangibly realised through such initiatives.

The project, valued at GH¢8,700.00, was jointly funded by Keta PENSA-NMTC and the Aflao Area of the Church. Outgoing PENSA President, Ms Stella Ativui, noted that although their resources were limited, their determination to serve the community remained steadfast.

“We wanted to leave a mark, not merely in words, but through action,” she said.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including Mrs Rebecca Aboagye (wife of the Area Head), Pastor Vitalis Dogoli (PENSA Travelling Secretary for the Lower Volta Sector), members of the Aflao Area Pastorate, PENSA leadership, students, and members of the local community.

This modest yet impactful initiative not only offers practical relief to commuters but also stands as a testament to how young people within the Church can serve as agents of godly influence in society. It is yet another affirmation that when empowered with vision and rooted in Christ, the Church’s youth can shape their world to the glory of God.

Ho Area Head Ignites “Fire On The Family Altar” During Visit To Abutia District

The Abutia District of The Church of Pentecost witnessed a great spiritual awakening on Sunday, September 21, 2025, as Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, the newly appointed Ho Area Head of the church, and his wife, Mrs Agatha Kwafo, undertook their maiden visit to the district.

Preaching on the theme, “Fire on the Family Altar,” Apostle Kwafo drew inspiration from key scriptures including Leviticus 6:13, Isaiah 6:5-7, Judges 16:17, Mark 1:35, and Luke 22:39-40. With fervour and conviction, he urged the congregation to rekindle and maintain consistent family devotion.

Sharing personal testimonies, Apostle Kwafo emphasised the transformative power of family prayer, attributing his own spiritual foundation to the devotions led by his mother.

“Keep the fire burning continually on the altar,” he declared, encouraging families to regard their homes as mission fields. “Fathers are the pastors in the home, and mothers are the assistant pastors,” he added, highlighting the shared spiritual responsibility within the household.

He exhorted the church to carry the fire beyond the four walls of the chapel, impacting homes, marketplaces, farms, and communities. He urged ministers to “visit members’ farms and pray for them, promoting a holistic model of ministry and pastoral care. He also stirred the hearts of the youth, encouraging them to pray for their unbelieving parents and to persist in witnessing to them until salvation is attained.

Apostle Kwafo further noted that nation-building is rooted in worship, stating, “Great nations have been constructed by worshippers of God.”

Addressing parents, he offered a sobering reminder: “Whatever you are unable to practise, you cannot instil in your children,” urging them to lead by example in prayer, fasting, and holy living.

The service concluded with fervent intercessory prayers for church leaders and officers, as Apostle Kwafo encouraged them to strengthen their support for the Abutia District and the broader vision of the Church.

Following the service, Apostle and Mrs Kwafo visited the homes of several members, offering words of encouragement and fellowship. The visit ended with a serene tour of a nearby mountain en route to one of the district’s local assemblies – an experience that blended spiritual reflection with refreshing communion.

The visit left an indelible mark on the district, reigniting passion for family altars and reaffirming the Church’s commitment to nurturing both spiritual and communal life.

Bolgatanga Pentecost Hospital Staff Urged To Serve With Excellence

Staff of the newly established Pentecost Hospital in Bolgatanga have been urged to uphold Christian values, pursue excellence, and align their service with the Church’s ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda.

This call was made during a one-day orientation held on September 16, 2025, organised by Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS).

The session brought together key church leaders and professionals, including the Director of PENTSOS, Pastor Benjamin Asare Yeboah; Bolgatanga Area Head, Apostle David Amankwaa; Dr Kwame Adjei Amoafo, Head of the hospital, and other dignitaries.

Delivering the keynote address, Apostle Amankwaa encouraged staff to “eschew mediocrity and pursue excellence in all aspects of service,” referencing Hebrews 11 and Philippians 4:8. He remarked, “Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice than Cain,” and emphasised that excellence is “not perfection, nor genetic, but the courage to be different” (Numbers 14:24).

He outlined four pillars of excellence: Desire, Discipline, Dedication, and Determination.

Speaking on Christian stewardship, Apostle Amankwaa noted that the Christian life is “value-driven” and “principle-based,” stressing that faithfulness is essential in any position of responsibility.

Apostle Amankwaa described Pentecost Hospital, Bolga, as a model of “pro-poor, compassionate, and efficient Christian healthcare,” and encouraged the team to stand out in a region where quality care is urgently needed.

The PENTSOS Director, Pastor Benjamin Asare Yeboah, reminded staff that Pentecost Hospital is, first and foremost, a missions hospital, and that everything they do must ultimately serve Christ and the Church’s mission.

He advised them to see their daily duties as ministry, calling for a spirit of sacrifice and a commitment to high standards.

Dr Phoebe Ohene Kwatia, a medical practitioner at the facility, outlined the hospital’s scope of services, which align with district-level healthcare delivery. She emphasised patient-centred care, clinical ethics—autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice—and adherence to best practices through guidelines, audits, and continuous learning.

PENTSOS Human Resource Officer, Mr Emmanuel Aziieku, spoke on workplace ethics, encouraging professionalism, loyalty, and non-discrimination, while Elder Joseph Apuseyune highlighted the importance of cultural sensitivity, noting that it fosters trust and enhances community impact.

The Bolgatanga Area PENTSOS Coordinator, Overseer Benjamin Owusu Ansah, traced PENTSOS’ 46-year development legacy and reaffirmed that although the hospital operates under the Ministry of Health and CHAG, it remains a PENTSOS trust institution. He urged staff to embody the core values of love, dignity, and efficiency.

The orientation ended with a renewed commitment from staff to serve with distinction.

Ministry To Prison Associates Launched In Salaga Area

The Salaga Area of The Church of Pentecost has officially launched the Ministry to Prison Associates, one of the key interventions under Vision 2028, aimed at offering spiritual support, mentorship, and reintegration pathways for ex-convicts.

The launch took place on August 30, 2025, and marked a significant milestone in the Church’s commitment to holistic ministry and social transformation.

The event, held under the leadership of the Salaga Area Head, Pastor Hayford Nsiah Yatimboh, brought together stakeholders from both the Church and Ghana’s security services. Notable among them were the District Police Commander, DSP Gabriel Alorsey; the Deputy Prisons Commander of Salaga Local Prisons, CSP Dela Kwasi Adorkor, and several officers from the police and prison services.

In his keynote address titled, “Your Profession as a Calling,” Pastor Yatimboh drew from Ephesians 4:1 to encourage attendees, especially those in the law enforcement agencies to see their professions not merely as jobs, but as divine callings.

“Every believer is a priest of God,” he noted, “and must reflect the character of Christ in their deeds and actions.”

He indicated that professions carried out with integrity, compassion, and spiritual awareness serve as powerful tools in ministering to others, particularly those seeking restoration after incarceration.

CSP Dela Kwasi Adorkor, on his part, shared a brief historical background of the Salaga Local Prison and underscored the value of partnerships between the prison service and faith-based organisations. He highlighted the critical role such collaborations play in the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates, and welcomed The Church of Pentecost’s initiative as timely and impactful.

The event set the tone for a broader commitment to restorative ministry within the Salaga Area, reinforcing the Church’s resolve to reach all segments of society with the transforming message of Christ. By launching the Ministry to Prison Associates, the Area has taken a meaningful step toward restoring hope, dignity, and purpose to those seeking a new beginning after incarceration.

Pentecost University, The Other Sheep Ministry To Train Believers For Interfaith Evangelism

Pentecost University has introduced a six-week online short course, dubbed Certificate in Christian Outreach to People of Other Faiths, aimed at equipping believers to effectively engage individuals from diverse religious backgrounds through informed and Spirit-led evangelism.

The programme is being offered in collaboration with the School of Theology and Missions (PSTM), a department of the university, and The Other Sheep Ministry of The Church of Pentecost. It was officially launched during a virtual meeting held on September 3, 2025.

Launching the course, Apostle Dr Christian Tsekpoe, Head of the Department of Ministerial Formation and Training at Pentecost University, explained that the Kingdom business is expanding, and that the leadership of the Church has established The Other Sheep Ministry to bring those outside the fold into the flock of God.

He stated that the course has been designed to equip Christians who are eager to study the Scriptures, teach them effectively, and adopt the right approach in reaching out to those outside the Christian faith.

Evangelist Abraham Addae Agyemang, National Coordinator of The Other Sheep Ministry, announced that the virtual course will commence on September 30, with sessions to be held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. The final week will feature an in-person session, culminating in a project presentation on November 1.

Encouraging believers to take advantage of the programme and enrol, Evangelist Agyemang reminded participants of the eternal reward awaiting faithful stewards of the Gospel.

During a question-and-answer session, some of the first batch of trainees engaged with facilitators, seeking clarity on various aspects of the course.

Delivering an exhortation on the theme, “How can I understand, unless someone explains it to me” based on Acts 8:26–30, Pastor Dr Emmanuel Awude, a lecturer at the university, reflected on the biblical encounter between Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch, who was reading about the suffering Messiah but lacked understanding.

Drawing lessons from the passage, he noted that many individuals from other faiths are reading about Jesus Christ but do not comprehend what they read.

“There are many reading about Jesus but do not understand – unless someone explains it to them,” he said, adding, “That’s why we must be like Philip – empowered by the Holy Spirit and rooted in apostolic doctrine to explain Christ to others.”

He referenced major religions such as Islam, Hinduism, and Judaism, where many seekers of truth lack the interpretive guidance of the Gospel. Pastor Awude urged believers to rise to this evangelistic calling, emphasising that the Spirit of God and apostolic fellowship are essential for understanding and communicating the Gospel effectively.

God Has Not Finished With You – Apostle Nana Yaw Agyei Encourages Women

The Area Head of the newly created Sakumono Area of The Church of Pentecost,Apostle Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei, has called on Christians to remain steadfast in their faith, assuring them that God has not finished with them yet.

Speaking at the maiden meeting of the Area Women’s Ministry, Apostle Nana Yaw Agyei encouraged the women to place their hope in Christ for a brighter tomorrow.

Drawing from Luke 1:30 and John 19:25-27, he indicated that divine favour is often accompanied by trials.

“One of the signs that God has blessed an individual,” he noted, “Is the opposition they encounter. Those who are highly favoured frequently endure hardship, for God has set them apart for greatness.”

He cited Bible characters who triumphed after hardship. David had to fight lions before defeating Goliath. Ruth journeyed great distances before finding her destiny. Hannah travailed in prayer for years before God opened her womb. Mary, though highly favoured, endured the agony of watching her Son crucified.

Reflecting on Mary’s pain, he asked: “How would you feel if your own son were hanging on the cross, bleeding, while the team had scattered and God seemed silent?”

He reminded the women that silence is also an answer from God, saying, “God answers prayers in four ways: yes, no, wait, and silence. When God is silent, He is still moving things in our favour.”

Apostle Agyei also described Mary’s encounter with the angel Gabriel. According to him, though the vision was fearsome, the message was filled with grace, ‘You are highly favoured.’

He emphasised that there is a difference between favour and high favour. “Mary’s miraculous pregnancy could not be explained naturally, but with the Holy Ghost, what seems impossible becomes possible.”

The angel even gave Mary a reference point, pointing to Elizabeth’s miraculous pregnancy, stressing that “When the Holy Spirit is in action, impossibilities bow.”

Apostle Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei reminded the women that favour comes at a cost. Just as Mary bore the pain of her calling, Christians must also endure trials with faith, knowing that God is shaping their testimonies.
