Don’t Allow Anything To Overshadow Your Faith – Christians Told

Elder Stephen Awuah Kesse, Leader of the Agona Prayer Centre in the Tarkwa Area of The Church of Pentecost, has advised Christians to be resolute in their faith in all situations.

According to him, Christians can always find hope even in times of distress, stressing that “hope is found in Jesus alone. So, when you feel that all is lost, know that Jesus gives hope.”

Elder Awuah Kesse was speaking on Day 2 of the “Juaboso for Christ” crusade being jointly held by the Sefwi Juaboso Area and the Evangelism Ministry at Juaboso Town Park.

Dwelling on the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-34, Elder Kesse said it took just a day for the woman to meet her destiny helper.

He, therefore, urged Christians to be hopeful in the Lord and trust that, in the appointed time, He will also come through for them.

“Men may neglect you, but God will never forsake you. It takes a day in the life of everyone to meet their destiny helper,” he said.

Elder Awuah Kesse also advised believers to be extra cautious during difficult times because the devil usually takes advantage of their predicaments to sway them from the Christian faith.

“We are always waging war against Satan over the faith we have in Christ Jesus. Do not allow your mind, which is the battleground, to be dominated by the words of friends and relatives or the deceit of the devil. Take a bold decision and be determined to walk with Jesus,” he advised.

Elder Awuah Kesse also urged Christians to take inspiration from the testimonies of others who demonstrated great faith in the Lord in difficult situations and were rewarded for it.

“The touch of Jesus brings liberty and wholeness. Just believe in the power of Jesus; He will turn your situations around,” he said.

Eschew Tribalism And Discrimination – Apostle Dr. Dieudonne Nuekpe Admonishes Believers

Apostle Dr. Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, the La Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has called on Christians to eschew tribalism and discrimination.

Speaking recently at the Alajo District Central assembly of the church on the theme, “Restoring the Biblical Identity of the Church Through Love to Possess the Nations” – Genesis 12: 1-4; Exodus 19:3-6; and Isaiah 42: 6, Apostle Dr. Nuekpe explained that the church emanated from the Jews through one man called Abraham who became light through whom God used to reach out to the world.

He explained that the Jews had a special mandate to be God’s “treasured possession,” “priestly kingdom,” and “holy nation” but they failed in that regard by allowing themselves to be adulterated.

“God expects anyone that joins the church to be a bearer of light through the love of Christ with a common goal and vision,” he said, adding, “There should not be room for tribal differences or discrimination in the church due to its peculiar and holy nature. This way, no crooked person can lead.”

To fully understand the identity of a group, he said, one should study their history, core mandate, vision, and mission, saying, “Until members understand the Vision 2023 agenda, what it seeks to achieve and their mandate, they cannot achieve their target.”

Apostle Dr. Dieudonne Nuekpe, therefore, admonished Christians to eschew any element of discrimination in the church where individuals only identify themselves with members of their ethnic groups in the church.

“We must not allow the cultural values and practices of the world to affect the church and the good values in Christ,” he stressed.

Reading further from 1 Peter 2: 9; Psalm 67: 1-7, he called on Christians to demonstrate the love of Christ to all persons to draw more people to Christ.

“Christians are to spread the sweet fragrance and aroma of Christ in order to affect the world positively. Let us reflect on the message of love we preach to the world,” he added

He called on members of the church to relate well with their neighbours in their communities, stressing that “until we change our attitude and behaviour towards one another, we can never possess the nations.”

Concluding his sermon, Apostle Dr. Dieudonne Nuekpe said that the church is a new community that has to reflect the beauty of Christ and that there should be harmony in the church of God.

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has observed that officers of the church are one of the key stakeholder groups in building the church of God.

Addressing members of the church at the Goaso Central Assembly auditorium as part of his working visit to the Goaso Area, the Chairman indicated that officers steer the affairs of the church in the locals, especially in the absence of ministers.

He commended their efforts in contributing to the faster growth and development of The Church of Pentecost.

Reading from Colossians 3:23-24, Apostle Nyamekye admonished officers of the church to continue working heartily as whatever they do is for the glorification of Christ.

“Worship God with all your heart and resources for you will be rewarded accordingly as you serve,” the Chairman stated.

He further stressed that to possess the nation as a church, it is imperative for members to live in righteousness. He also urged them to be agents of transformation in their various spheres of work in society.

Apostle Nyamekye Pays Courtesy Call On Goaso Paramount Chief

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Goaso Traditional Area, Nana Akwasi Bosomprah I, to begin his 4-day working tour of the Ahafo Region.

He was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Mary Nyamekye, the Goaso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle William Kojo Edzorhoho, and the Goaso Area Pastorate.

Addressing the delegation, Nana Akwasi Bosomprah expressed his excitement about the establishment of the Chieftaincy Ministry in the church. The leadership of the church, he said, deserves many commendations, saying, “I am happy about the fact that royals and chiefs come together to learn about Christ.”

The Omanhene, however, lamented about the increase of false doctrines by some churches and charlatans who called themselves God.

He called on officials of Bible training institutions to scrutinize persons they admit into their institutions to ensure that the right people come out as pastors.

He disclosed that through his love and passion for Christ, he organised Goaso for Christ and Ahafo for Christ crusades, which drew many chiefs from far and near to participate.

Celebrating 15 years of enstoolment next year, the Betwahene of Asantehene Otumfuo called on The Church of Pentecost to build a Royals Assembly, where it would be designated to only chiefs and royals to worship without joining the mainstream services. He, therefore, donated two plots of land to the church for the commencement of the project.

In his response, Apostle Eric Nyamekye stated: “We thank God that today we have chiefs who understand Christ and yearn to use these instructions to rule the lands. Our ancestors used what they knew, and the light has come in this dispensation. Therefore, it is worth using the Bible as your manual.”

Chairman Nyamekye added: “I believe that chieftaincy, priesthood and governance are all forms of leadership. God created man to rule over the people. To lead the people, we need leaders to fulfill this mandate. Chieftaincy is not idol worship.”

Concerning the request to build a separate church for chiefs, Apostle Nyamekye assured Nana Bosomprah of the church’s commitment to the construction of the Royals Assembly church building. He also revealed that plans are far advanced for the construction of a Royals Leadership & Resource Centre at Akwapim-Akropong, which would be used for educating chiefs.

He, then expressed his sincere appreciation to the Paramount Chief for the kind gesture and support towards the church within the Area.

Present were the Queen mother of the Goaso Traditional Area, Nana Afia Serwaa, and members of the traditional council.

PENSEC-Koforidua 15-Unit Classroom Block Commissioned By President

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commissioned a 15-unit classroom block constructed by the government at the Pentecost Senior High School (PENSEC) Koforidua.

The ceremony took place on Sunday, October 23, 2022, as part of the activities undertaken by the President during his three-day tour of the Eastern Region.

In his address, President Akufo-Addo reiterated his government’s commitment to the Free Senior High School programme.

Responding to the request by the headmaster, President Akufo-Addo promised to liaise with GETFund to build new dormitories for both boys and girls in the school to accommodate more students.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Peter Atta Gyamfi, in his welcome address, said PENSEC-Koforidua has worked tirelessly for the past twenty-two years to be among the top schools (Grade ‘A’ school) in Ghana.

He said: “I am happy to announce that the dream of establishing this school was nurtured in the year 2000 by The Church of Pentecost. This was conceived with the main objective to cater for the continuation of their products from the Pentecost Preparatory School.”

He added that the school was absorbed by the Ghana Education Service in 2016 as a government-assisted school, saying, “Our aspiration and efforts at Pentecost Senior High School, Koforidua is to support the continuous improvement of education delivery as inspired by the Free Senior High Education Policy in order to support human capital and national development.”

The headmaster assured the President that PENSEC was committed to supporting the government’s efforts to build a Free Senior High School Education in Ghana to positively impact the lives of the millions of Ghanaians who hitherto cannot afford secondary education.

According to him, the school keeps on growing numerically year after year to the present student population of over 2,200. However, he said, the school does not have any dormitory block built for the purpose as classroom blocks have been converted into dormitories for the boys, while a church auditorium has also been converted into a girls’ dormitory.

He appealed to the President to consider building dormitories for the school since that will help the school increase intake of students and thereby help the government to accelerate the achievement of the access component of the Free SHS policy.

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, speaking at the occasion assured the President of the Church’s commitment to partner with the government in ensuring the socio-economic development of the country.

He emphasized that the Church will not relent on its effort to help make people’s lives better in the country through its social intervention projects.

Apostle Mike Kwame Etrue, the Koforidua Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, prayed to commission the 15-unit classroom block.

Present at the ceremony were some government officials, including the minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, his deputy, Hon. Okyere Baafi; Benjamin Oduro Asante (Regional National Service Coordinator), and pastors of The Church of Pentecost in the Koforidua and Effiduase Areas.

Life Is A Journey – Apostle Dr. Jimmy Markin

“Life is a journey; it has a beginning and an end. Right from birth, you begin the journey and once you begin, you must know that it will come to an end. However, the mystery of the journey of life is that you do not know when it will end.”

The above statement was contained in a sermon preached by the Evangelism Ministry Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, during the opening of the “Juaboso for Christ” crusade yesterday at the Juaboso Town Park.

According to Apostle Dr. Markin, since life is a journey, every human being must accept the fact that it will surely come to an end.

“It does not matter how it ends, whether, through an accident, sickness leading to death or through the rapture of the saints, every life on earth will end,” he said.

The Evangelism Director cautioned that the state in which one dies can never be reversed and remains. “Whether you died a believer or an unbeliever, you cannot change your status after death,” he warned.

He, therefore, urged humankind to make a concrete decision on how they would like to end their life journey. He stressed that there is no middle ground in the issue of heaven and hell.

“You are either blessed or cursed, a child of God or the devil, going to heaven or hell; there is no middle ground,” he said.

Apostle Dr. Jimmy Markin said that every human has to decide which side to be on.

Using the story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37 to elaborate his assertion, he said that on the journey of life, human beings are bound to be attacked by the devil, who only seeks to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10).

He said that, like the Good Samaritan, Jesus came to fully pay the price for the sins of humanity and redeem them from the attacks of the evil one.

The Evangelism Director, therefore, called on every human being to accept Christ into their lives as Lord and personal Saviour, especially since they do not know when their journey would end.

“This is not about emotions; it is a decision you must make; your destiny is in your own hands,” he charged.

The “Juaboso for Christ” crusade, which is being jointly organised by the Sefwi Juaboso Area and the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, is under the theme: “Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World.”

Faith Works Miracles – Pastor Agyemang Badu Declares

The Kintampo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Francis Agyemang Badu, has admonished Christians to develop strong faith in God to access His miracles.

He mentioned that God is still in the miracle-working business and all that He demands from His children is a strong faith in Him.

Pastor Agyemang Badu made this assertion recently in an exhortation during the Area’s Weekly Thursday Morning Prayers, dubbed ‘Miracle Hour’ held at Grace Boahen Memorial Temple, Kintampo.

Using the story of the leper in Matthew 8:1-3, he explained that though the leper was despised and not regarded due to his condition, he exhibited strong faith that brought him a miracle when he encountered Jesus.

The Area Head, therefore, admonished all and sundry to exercise faith in their walk with Christ.

Concluding his sermon, Pastor Francis Agyemang Badu encouraged believers to keep trusting God for a miracle, because no matter the situation, He has the power to turn situations around when prayers are backed with faith.

In attendance were some pastors and their wives as well as officers in the Area.

Anyaa District Donates 564 Bibles To Children

The Anyaa District in the Anyaa-Ablekuma Area of The Church of Pentecost has distributed 564 Bibles, worth GHȼ3,900.00, among the children in the district.

The donation, which took place on October 16, 2022, was jointly sponsored by the District Children’s Ministry and the various local assemblies in the district.

The gesture is in fulfilment of the One-Child-One-Bible project of the Children’s Ministry which aims at making the word of God accessible to all children in the Church.

Earlier, the district received 240 Bibles from the Area Children’s Ministry and distributed to the children. Currently, all 804 members of the Children’s Ministry in the district have received Bibles.

During the presentation, the District Minister, Pastor Emmanuel Teye Sackitey, remarked that, considering the invaluable use of the Bible in training the child, it should be the most basic property every child possesses.

He, therefore, charged all the children’s workers to help harness the gifts and talents of the children, and also form reading clubs in the community to help children develop interest in reading the Bible.

Receiving the Bibles on behalf of the children, the District Children’s Ministry Leader, Elder David Agyemang, expressed much gratitude to the leadership of the Church for such a wonderful initiative.

He pledged the commitment of children’s workers towards ensuring the children make good use of the Bibles.
