Uphold Moral Leadership In Secularised World – Apostle Anane Denteh Charges Young Politicians

The Director of Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) and Executive Council member of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, has called on young politicians and leaders to rise to the challenge of moral leadership in a secularised world.

He said this at the Younger Generation Politicians and Leaders Conference at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh on October 10, 2024. The event was on the theme, ‘Tomorrow Today: The Place of the Young Politician/Leader in Ghana’s Moral Vision and National Development.’

Delivering a paper on the topic, ‘Christian Leadership in a Secular World,’ Apostle Anane Denteh highlighted the challenges young leaders face in integrating their faith with their political roles.

Emphasising the importance of upholding God’s kingdom values, he reminded the youth that Christian leadership is not just about personal faith but about bringing transformational change to society.

‘Christ’s ministry was full of action embedded in kingdom values,’ he noted, encouraging the young leaders to be active agents of change rather than mere observers in the political arena.

The PEMEM Director also indicated how secularism, with its promotion of moral relativism and separation of religious values from public life, threatens to erode the ethical foundations of leadership.

He cited the biblical perspective, Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, urging young leaders to resist secular pressures and stand firm in their beliefs.

‘Christian leaders must model integrity, compassion, and service in every aspect of their leadership, even when faced with the moral compromises that often come with public office,’ he strongly called.

Apostle Anane Denteh stressed on the need for mentorship, with a call for young Christian politicians to be paired with experienced leaders who can guide them in navigating both faith and politics. This approach, according to him, would ensure that the next generation of leaders are not only equipped with the skills to govern but with the moral courage to lead with conviction.

He charged young Christian politicians to embody moral leadership, influencing national development with values rooted in faith, and shaping a future where politics and morality are intertwined.

Strive To Be True Statesmen – Afenyi-Dadzie Urges Young Politicians

Veteran journalist and former Council of State member, Hon. Mrs Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, has urged young politicians to strive to become true statesmen.

She made the call on Friday, October 10, 2024, during a presentation at the Younger Generation Politicians and Leaders Conference held at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh.

Speaking on the theme, ‘The True Statesman: Representing God, Representing Humanity,’ Hon. Mrs Afenyi-Dadzie, emphasised the critical role of the youth in shaping Ghana’s future through leadership grounded in moral integrity.

According to her, there is a need for young leaders to embrace positions of responsibility across political, corporate, and social spheres.

Drawing on biblical principles, she emphasised the importance of integrity, citing Proverbs 22:6 (Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it).

She mentioned that true statesmanship requires qualities such as honesty, justice, and selflessness, stressing that integrity is not just about public perception but the consistency of one’s private character.

Hon. Afenyi-Dadzie also reflected on her own experiences as President of the Ghana Journalists Association, where she upheld ethical standards amidst challenges, especially during the repeal of the Criminal Libel Law. She urged young politicians to resist corruption, be the ‘conscience’ of the nation, and lead with transparency and truth, even when faced with adversity.

Addressing modern leadership challenges, she spoke about the fight against misinformation and the devastation caused by galamsey in Ghana, calling for decisive action.

She encouraged young leaders to join the ranks of what she called the ‘Nehemiah company’ and ‘Esther company,’ leading Ghana into an era of righteous governance.

The stateswoman challenged young politicians to lead with humility, integrity, and a commitment to serving both God and the nation.

DOES GOD CHOOSE PRESIDENTS FOR NATIONS web

Does God Choose Presidents For Nations?

  1. God has an interest in the universe He created and that interest is to redeem humanity and eventually the rest of creation through Christ.
  2. So, God will take steps that will advance His primary purpose of redemption.
  3. God has given the earth to humanity – resources, biological life, brains, freewill (determinism, choice), etc. to do things by our own freewill to better our lives on earth and to come to Christ – His final Word to humanity.
  4. Groups of people such as a nation make their own collective choices and are responsible for the consequences and outcomes.
  5. If the institution is directly involved in God’s redemptive agenda such as a church, then God is very interested in seeking to direct the affairs of that institution and even to bring earlier judgment on those in the institution if they misrepresent Him. This is the reason judgment begins in the house of God, the Church, with God bringing discipline or even untimely death to any of His representatives who continue to misrepresent Him.
  6. Thus, God is very interested in the selection of leaders in churches and other institutions directly related to His redemptive agenda.
  7. In the Old Testament God was very much interested in the choice of leaders of Israel because Israel was directly involved in His redemptive agenda; God treated Israel as a nation the way He treats the church now; that was a theocratic system.
  8. We notice that, to a very large extent, God did not so much intervene in the selection of leaders of Gentile nations such as Assyria, Babylon, etc. The selection of their leaders was the result of their collective freewill. All nations in the world now as “Gentile” (secular nation) with the choice to participate God’s redemptive agenda left to individuals within the nation.
  9. God is interested in choosing leaders for His church at all levels in every nation but the selection of leaders for the nations and other non-redemptive institutions like leaders of organized labour etc. is the collective freewill of the people in the country or that group.
  10. However, since God has the power to rule in the affairs of any group of human beings, God can bring a person in response to the prayers of many within a nation with the hope that such a leader will facilitate His redemptive agenda – transforming human hearts and developing social systems as the world awaits Christ to consummate His creation fully.
  11. This does not mean the person God brings in response to prayer will automatically follow the will of God at all times, especially when the person is not saved in Christ (does not have God’s Seed and God’s Spirit). The person may still retain his/her freewill to either continue to hear the voice of God or to harden his/her heart like Pharaoh.
  12. All these said, there are certain times FIXED in the timeline of nations where God may have ordained a SPECIFIC PERSON to lead the nation either as judgment to the nation (a wicked leader) or as comfort to the nation (a leader who hears the voice of God to be a blessing to the nation) to serve as a testimony to that nation.
  13. We should also note that the collective righteousness of a nation (the proportion of Spirit-filled righteous people within the nation over its course of existence) will determine whether that nation will last a long time in history before the coming of Christ and whether that nation will be retained on the new earth.
  14. Lastly, God seeks to move the hearts of humans towards His redemptive will but whether humans yield or not, His redemptive milestones can NEVER to be thwarted: these redemptive milestones are: Christ would be born; Christ would die; Christ would rise from death; the Church would be established by Christ to spread; Christ will come again to consummate the church; the old creation will be obliterated; and the tangible new creation will be the new order. Regardless of any of the issues in the world, these milestones (the purpose of God) will NEVER be erased.
  15. Our participation in God’s redemptive plan is OUR INDIVIDUAL CHOICE – to receive or reject Christ. We each have a choice to reject Him or accept Him except for those who lack sufficient revelation or awareness of God’s redemptive plan (such as adults of sane minds who have never heard about it; most children; and people born mentally challenged); these are in a saved redemptive state.

Think About Tomorrow – Apostle Nyamekye Admonishes Politicians & Leaders

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has admonished politicians and all persons in leadership positions to think about tomorrow in all they do.

He made this admonishment at the opening session of the Younger Generation Politicians and Leaders Conference held at the Pentecost Convention Centre on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Themed “Tomorrow Today: The Place of the Young Politician/Leader in Ghana’s Moral Vision and National Development,” the conference brought together emerging leaders to discuss their pivotal role in shaping the future of Ghana.

Delivering the sermon at the service, Apostle Nyamekye lamented the short-term thinking prevalent among current leaders, urging a shift towards long-term policies that prioritise national prosperity over electoral victories.

He referenced 1 Samuel 8:19, drawing parallels between historical leadership in Israel and contemporary expectations of politicians.

He expressed concern that many young leaders today seem more focused on personal gain rather than serving their communities. “Politics seems to be an easy way to make money,” he remarked, cautioning that such motivations can undermine the integrity essential for effective leadership.

Chairman Nyamekye emphasised that true leadership is rooted in responsibility—addressing public concerns, solving problems, and meeting community needs. He warned that without these qualities, leaders risk becoming mere figureheads.

“Politics makes you a public official and cannot hide,” he stated, highlighting the vulnerability that comes with public service and the necessity for integrity and skillful governance.

He highlighted the church’s vested interest in politics, asserting that the church’s mission extends beyond spiritual salvation to societal transformation.

“If the church cannot bring transformation to the nation, then it is of no purpose,” he declared.

He urged young politicians to view their roles as a ministry dedicated to fostering national development through ethical decision-making.

He called for a new generation of leaders who prioritise societal betterment over immediate electoral success.

“The most important factor in the development of every nation is the nature of its citizens,” he stated, emphasising that character and integrity must be at the forefront of leadership.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye Urges Church Leaders To Prioritise Personal Devotion web

Apostle Eric Nyamekye Urges Church Leaders To Prioritise Personal Devotion

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has called on church leaders to deepen their commitment to prayer and spiritual renewal through personal devotion.

Addressing presiding elders and elders in Kumasi at the Dunamis English Assembly auditorium in Bantama, on Friday, October 4, 2024, Chairman Nyamekye emphasised the importance of withdrawing from the hustle and bustle of ministry to seek divine strength, drawing inspiration from Luke 5:15-16, where Jesus often retreated to pray.

According to him, even though Jesus Christ performed several miracles and wonders, He never gloried in that. Rather, He prioritised withdrawing from the masses to pray for longer hours to renew His strength.

The Chairman noted that spiritual battles require more than mere determination, but rather a robust connection with God.

‘Without God’s strength, the challenges of this world will come as a trap and weigh you down,’ he cautioned.

He highlighted the dangers of short devotions, which he described as detrimental to deep piety and spiritual rigour. He stated that many biblical figures engaged in lengthy private prayers before making public declarations.

‘Devotion cannot be confined to time limits,’ he asserted, urging ministers to prioritise longer periods of prayer to foster a deeper relationship with God and enhance their ministry effectiveness.

Apostle Nyamekye cautioned that a lack of closeness with Jesus could lead to ‘lean souls and ineffective ministry.’

He encouraged church leaders to be vigilant and proactive in seeking strength from God, stressing that short devotions often contribute to spiritual backsliding within congregations.

God’s People Are Built In Prayer Closets – Apostle Nyamekye Disclosed

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has revealed that God’s mighty men and women are built through intensive prayers.

He made this disclosed while speaking to presiding elders and elders of the church in the Ashanti Region on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Bantama Assembly.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Lord, Teach Us To Pray,’ Apostle Nyamekye emphasised that prayer is essential in the life of every Christian, especially leaders in the faith. He revealed that the best prayers are said in secluded places, just as Jesus did in Mark 1:35, stating that ‘secluded places are where God’s men and women, useful for ministry, are made.’

Apostle Nyamekye stated that to be truly useful in the arms of God, church leaders must seek Him in secluded places through dedicated and long periods of prayer.

Highlighting the importance of dedicating time to prayer, Chairman Nyamekye explained that Jesus prayed because He recognised it as a need.

‘Jesus was aware that having taken on human form, He would be tempted and could grow weak and weary. Therefore, He needed to rely on God, who assures to uphold, support, defend against opposition, and sustain all who seek Him,’ he said.

Apostle Nyamekye further noted that the best texts and messages are gained from the closet through prayers, disclosing that waiting on God through prayer is the period that people have face-to-face encounter with God, who provides deeper revelations and insights into scriptures.

Using himself as an example, he said, ‘My best messages come to me when I am on my knees in prayer. Sometimes, I would have finished preparing my sermon for a programme, and a few hours before the event when I zoom into prayer, it is then that God dismantles the whole sermon and rearranges it.’

He called on all to revert to the typical Pentecostal prayers which are more focused on the Holy Spirit and an intercessory rather that personal needs so the world will hear and benefit from it.

‘National All Leavers Summit’ Gathers Over 3,000 School Leavers In Greater Accra

The much-anticipated National All Leavers Summit has taken place, with over 3,000 Senior High School (SHS) and Junior High School (JHS) leavers in the Greater Accra Region in attendance. Other centres across the country also saw a large turnout.

The maiden edition of the summit, which was held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, had it main venue as the Kaneshie Worship Centre of The Church of Pentecost and over 100 auxiliary centres across Ghana under the theme, ‘Raising a New Generation in a Society of Declining Moral Values: Equipping Them for a Brighter Future’ (inspired by Daniel 1:8 and Psalm 100:4)

Pastor Frank Mensah Tandoh (National Coordinator of the Schools Outreach Ministry) stated that many school leavers often overlook the stages that follow their education. ‘Immediately after school, there’s a sense of euphoria that can lead them to forget there are still other stages of their lives,’ he noted.

The SOM Coordinator added that the collaboration among the organisers was designed to ensure that young school leavers can align with their God-given destinies while steering clear of societal vices.

In his welcome address, the Kaneshie Area Head and Executive Council Member of the church, Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, highlighted the summit’s role in addressing pressing questions leavers face today.

He remarked: ‘The theme of this summit cannot be underestimated, especially in this contemporary age when young people are confronted by multiple social vices.’

Apostle Asante urged participants to embrace godly values and principles, emphasising that building up the next generation requires collective effort from parents, teachers, and community leaders.

The event featured a powerful sermon by Rev. Derick E. Koomson, CEO of Scripture Union Ghana (SU) in which he asserted: ‘When you begin with God, He will see you through.’

While acknowledging the overwhelming challenges facing today’s youth, Rev. Koomson lamented the moral decline in society and called for a generation of spiritual renewal to confront these evils.

He encouraged attendees to reject sin and accept Jesus Christ as their saviour, emphasising that true success comes from relationship with God.

He called for unity among all stakeholders in nurturing young leaders capable of making positive contributions to society.

Patrons of the summit were also taken through key lessons that will help them succeed in life by Elder Paul Kofi Mantey, Managing Director, Ecobank EDC. They also had a breakout session where they were taken through the chances available to them on the next stage of their academic ladder.

Also present were Pastor Dr Felix Dela Klutse (Director, Pent Media Centre), Dr Kwabena B. Tandoh (Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service), Pastor Nillo Arthur (Kaneshie Area SOM Coordinator), among others.
