Humility Is Living Modest Life – Apostle Kwafo Discloses

The National Coordinator for the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, has stressed the significance of humility in the lives of Christians.

He has, therefore, urged believers to practice humility in every aspect of their daily lives, emphasising that it should be evident in their actions, attitudes, and interactions with others.

In an interview with J. B. Dankwa on Pent TV, Apostle Kwafo delved into the true essence of humility. He clarified that humility does not mean agreeing with everything or submitting to everyone without discernment. Instead, true humility involves having a realistic understanding of oneself and not presenting an image that exceeds one’s actual status or abilities. It is about acknowledging one’s strengths and weaknesses while maintaining respect, self-awareness, and authenticity.

The HUM Coordinator dispelled misconceptions about humility, encouraging Christians to stay grounded and genuine in their interactions, while also standing firm in their faith and principles.

Agyemang Family Donates Church Building To Asofan English Assembly web

Agyemang Family Donates Church Building To Asofan English Assembly

Mr William Agyemang and his wife, Deaconess Mrs Mary Agyemang, have singlehandedly constructed and donated a fully-furnished church building to the Asofan English Assembly in the Achimota Area of The Church of Pentecost.

The new church building was dedicated on Friday,  January 31, 2025, by the General Secretary of the Church, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, with support from the Achimota Area Head, Apostle Joseph Danzerl.

The Agyemang family went beyond the construction of the church building by furnishing it with 200 customised chairs, a lectern, and musical instruments, ensuring the assembly is well-prepared for worship services.

During the dedication service, Apostle Obuobi delivered a sermon on the theme, ‘House of Prayer,’ highlighting the importance of maintaining prayer as the foundation of the church.

He referenced Matthew 21:12-13 to highlight Jesus’ intent for the temple to be a place of prayer for all nations, not a commercial centre.

‘The house of God is not a place for entertainment or business; it is supposed to be a house of prayer,’ Apostle Obuobi stated.

He added: ‘The very nature and character of the church should reflect prayer. At all times, the house of God should be prayerful.’

Apostle Obuobi also spoke on the transformative power of prayer, citing Acts 4:33: ‘In prayer, we receive great grace and great power. Grace, in this context, is the enabling power of God that comes upon the believer, enabling them to do what they ordinarily cannot do.’

He urged Christians to incorporate prayer into all aspects of their lives, including marriage, studies, health, and ministry.

‘If we want to see great grace and power at work, we must remain prayerful,’ he concluded.

The Asofan English Assembly is one of six local assemblies within the Asofan District of The Church of Pentecost. The district was established in 2019 after being carved out of the Ofankor District.

The dedication service was graced by several dignitaries, including Apostle Bright Nyamedor (Director, Ghana Evangelism Committee/Resident Minister, Petroleum Worship Centre), ministers from the area, and traditional rulers.

Aim For The Power Of The Holy Spirit — PWDs Told

Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have been encouraged to seek the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit to grow strong in Christ and bear lasting fruits.

The Northern Sector Coordinator of the Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs), Overseer Joshua Korku Semador, made the call during his visit to the Dung MPWDs Assembly in the Daffiama District of the Wa Area as part of the recently held 14-day Global Fasting and Prayer.

Speaking on the topic, ‘You Will Receive Power,’ with scripture references from Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:1-4, Overseer Semador stated, ‘Once God’s Spirit comes, His power will come.’

He further advised that instead of seeking non-existent ‘spiritual assistance’ from elsewhere, Persons with Disabilities should spend more time in prayer, pray in tongues, and live in total dependence on God.

Also present at the meeting were Pastor Alfred Owusu, Area MPWDs Coordinator; Overseer Andrew Akwetey, District Minister for Nator; Overseer Richmond Nimako Marfo of Kaleo District; and Overseer Daniel Takyi, District Minister for Daffiama.

La Area Prisons Ministry Gives To Nsawam Inmates

The La Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, has donated assorted items valued at GHS 85,000.00 to the Nsawam Medium Security Prison in the Eastern Region.

The presentation, which took place on Friday, January 17, 2025, was part of the church’s commitment to supporting and transforming lives in correctional facilities under the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda.

The items, which included food, toiletries, and other essential supplies, were received by Rev. Fr. DDP Martin Padi (Eastern Regional Chaplain) and Pastor DSP Thomas Owusu Brefo (Nsawam Prison Chaplain).

Speaking during the event, Apostle Dr Nuekpe noted that the visit was part of fulfilling a biblical mandate, which is a great command in the Bible.

He said, ‘Being in prison is not an enjoyable thing, and we are not ignorant of the fact that not all prisoners are guilty of the crimes committed. Yet, God allowed the situation they find themselves in. While still in prison, do take advantage of any given opportunity to rebuild and transform your lives.’

He called on the families of the inmates and society at large to accept them when they are finally released from incarceration. They should not be stigmatised or discriminated against to enable them to integrate well back into their families and society.

The Nsawam Prison Chaplain, Pastor DSP Thomas Owusu Brefo, expressed his deepest appreciation to the pastorate and members of La Area.

He called on other institutions, churches, stakeholders, and individuals to emulate what the church has done since the government is unable to do it all.

‘The government is doing its best by providing a daily token of GHS 1.80 per inmate, which is not enough. So we need everybody to come on board and assist us in this regard,’ he said.

Pastor Sylvester Ayiah, National Executive Committee (NEC) Member of the Prison Ministry and La Area Prison Ministry Coordinator, highlighted the church’s commitment to addressing the needs of marginalised groups in society.

‘The Church of Pentecost believes in showing the love of Christ to all people, especially those in vulnerable situations. Our Prison Ministry is dedicated to providing not only physical support but also spiritual encouragement to inmates,’ he said.

The delegation included Mrs Juanita Toffa-Nuekpe, wife of the Area Head; Pastor Samuel Nii Engman; Pastor Godwin Ako Addo of Alajo District; and Pastor Daniel Nana Sei Mensah, among others.

Mentorship, Active Participation Key To Church Renewal – Apostle Kumi-Larbi

The Ashaiman Area Head and immediate past General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has underscored the critical role of mentorship and active participation in revitalising local church worship and fellowship.

He urged church leaders to be intentional in mentoring and raising leaders at the local level, stating that such efforts are essential for building God’s Kingdom on earth.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Revitalising Worship and Fellowship in the Local Assembly’ during the Greater Accra Regional Ministers and Wives’ Conference 2025, held at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa-Fetteh, he stated, ‘Every church, regardless of its current state, needs revitalisation to maintain its health and missional energy.’

Apostle Kumi-Larbi pointed out that the local church should serve as an equipping centre, preparing members to impact others. He explained that worship should not be confined to a physical temple but should occur wherever believers gather, stating that ‘worship, as a lifestyle of daily service to God, should not be confined to a physical temple but should occur wherever believers gather.’

He also underscored the importance of fellowship in building friendships and unity, contributing to God’s Kingdom on earth.

To achieve revitalisation, he advocated for mentoring and raising leaders at the local level, ensuring that church leaders are intentional and strategic in their approach.

The Executive Council Member stressed that ‘regular church attendance and active participation in outreach events are vital, as they help members become more invested in the church’s health and future.’

He further highlighted the value of small groups in fostering deeper fellowship and generosity among church members. By embracing change, rediscovering the church’s mission, and remaining patient throughout the journey, he believes churches can experience transformative renewal.

‘The local church is where the real action is,’ emphasising its role as the strength of the Church and the place where practical ministry and congregational life occur.

Children have a role in the Possessing the Nations Agenda - Apostle Nyamekye web

Children Have Role In Possessing The Nations Agenda – Apostle Nyamekye

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has indicated that children in the church have a role to play in the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda.

He said this on Sunday, January 26, 2025, when he joined the Children’s Ministry of the Kaneshie Worship Centre for a special time of fellowship.

Apostle Nyamekye informed the children that The Church of Pentecost is not solely for adults; children are equally vital members.

He discussed the church’s Vision 2028, rooted in Ephesians 3:10-11, which calls for transformation through the gospel. He traced the church’s leadership history, highlighting that God appoints leaders who come out with visions at every juncture. He stated that the current vision, ‘Possession the Nations,’ agenda is a mandate for both children and adults to actively participate in it.

Chairman Nyamekye called on children to embody their Christian identity in their schools and communities. He encouraged them to share the teachings they receive at church and to act as agents of change by addressing wrongdoings around them.

‘When you go to school let others know you are Christians and strive to transform your environment with love and good deeds,’ he stated.

This transformation, he said, extends beyond personal conduct; it encompasses efforts to combat societal issues like corruption.

He reiterated that the ‘whole’ church includes everyone—adults and children alike. He explained that Vision 2028 seeks to redefine ministry as any action that aligns with Kingdom values.

Apostle Nyamekye emphasised that ministry is not confined to church activities but should be evident in everyday life. He outlined practical actions children can take at home and school, encouraging them to share God’s word with family members, show respect and obedience to parents, assist with household chores, express love towards classmates, invite peers to learn about Christ, and support those in need through prayer and kindness.

Cultivate Humility In Ministry – Apostle JKB Tawiah Tells Ministers

The Tamale Area Head and Coordinator for the Northern Regional Coordinating Committee (NRCC) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle John Kobina Budu Tawiah, has urged ministers and their wives to prioritize cultivating humility in their work.

According to him, humility is the only way to be effective and fruitful in their calling.

“Theological and other academic achievements alone do not make an effective minister; rather, humble service, often nurtured through mentorship and practical experience in the field, plays a crucial role in ministry,” he said.

Apostle Tawiah made these remarks as part of his admonition on the third day of the just-ended Ministers and Wives Conference at the Radach Lodge in Tamale.

Drawing on his personal experiences and scriptural teachings, specifically referencing James’ admonition on humility in James 4:6, he urged ministers to remain humble to ensure they continue to receive the grace needed to excel in and fulfill their calling.

His message set the tone for the day’s program, aligning with two other impactful ministrations: Apostle David Dorsu, the Area Head of Tumu, spoke on the importance of serving God with one’s possessions, and Pastor James Magyam, the Area Head for Yendi, discussed the significance of waiting on God through prayer and fasting.

Both topics were part of the four-day conference, which was attended by nearly 500 ministers and wives from the nine Areas that constitute the region.

The Northern RCC’s Ministers and Wives Conference was highly successful, featuring powerful presentations, intensive prayer and worship sessions, and active participation in group discussions.

Jesus Is The Only Door To Salvation – Apostle Samuel Obuobi Asserts

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has reaffirmed that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation.

During a Gospel Sunday service with the Bethel Assembly in the New Juaben District today, he stressed that faith in Jesus is the only means by which humanity can be reconciled with God.

Referencing John 14:6, he declared, “Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”

The General Secretary explained that there is no alternative path to salvation, underscoring that Jesus is the sole mediator between God and mankind (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

Apostle Obuobi elaborated on the importance of salvation, tracing its origins to the Garden of Eden when mankind first disobeyed God.

He explained that Adam and Eve’s disobedience caused separation from God, which led to death and the loss of their glory. “By obeying the devil instead of God, Adam and Eve honoured Satan, and this act of disobedience resulted in the fall of mankind,” he said.

However, he pointed out that through Jesus, the door of salvation remains open to all who come to Him in faith.

“Jesus is the access point to eternal life. He is open to all who believe,” he said, citing John 10:9.

He reminded the congregation that Jesus is not only the exclusive way to salvation, but also the only means of reconciliation with God.

Apostle Obuobi warned that the opportunity for salvation will not last forever.

Drawing from Luke 13:25-27, he cautioned that the door to salvation will one day be closed. “When the rapture comes or when death strikes, the door to salvation will be closed, and there will be no further opportunity.”

He concluded by urging everyone to seize the opportunity to enter through the door of salvation while it is still open, for Jesus is the only way to eternal life.
