Mile 3 District Holds Graduation Ceremony For 35 Teens

The Mile 3 District in the New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a graduation ceremony for 35 teens who have transitioned from the Children’s Ministry to the Ministry to Teens.

The event, which symbolises a time of change, progression and moving into new adventures took place on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the Central Assembly auditorium.

As part of the event, each graduand received a certificate and a Holy Bible as the foundation of their faith.

The graduands were prepared for their transition through teachings of the word of God, the Church’s tenets and prayer before they underwent water baptism by immersion.

In an exhortation on the topic: “Hearing the Voice of God,” with 1 Samuel 3:1 as scriptural reference, the District Minister, Pastor Joseph Ankomako, admonished the graduands to portray the character of young Samuel and be sensitive to God’s voice as they stay glued to the word of God.

He noted that God uses young persons to manifest His glory and, therefore, urged them to avail themselves for God’s use.

Pastor Ankomako was optimistic that the graduands would someday play key roles in the work of God, hence, the need for the Church to take a keen interest in their growth in Christ Jesus.

“We are very optimistic that God will use these children to fulfill His mandate in the Church; this is why we are very determined to ensure their growth through the word of God to equip them as an army to possess the nations,” he expressed.

“The Children’s Ministry leadership has been very instrumental in nurturing the children. So, I believe that the leadership of the Youth Ministry as well as the Ministry to Teens will also take it from there and impact them with the knowledge of God required at this stage to the glory of God,” he added.

The district also presented an industrial sewing machine worth GHC 3,400 to Sister Josephine Ansah, a Sunday School teacher (child worker), for her commitment and dedication towards the ministry.

PENSA International Trains Leaders For ‘I Will Go (IWiG)’ 2022 Missions

Following the mandate of the Great Commission of Christ, the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) International, a ministry of The Church of Pentecost, has held a week-long soul-winning training for ‘I Will Go (IWiG)’ 2022 Missions, to equip its leaders across the nations.

The missions training which is the Equipping Phase of the ministry, organised virtually on Zoom and Facebook, took place from Monday, November 28, 2022, to Saturday, December 3, 2022.

It was under the theme, “I Will Go” with scripture reading from Isaiah 6:8 and Mark 16:20. The focus of the entire Missions is to reach out to 15 unreached nations by the Church of Pentecost.

Over 260 participants, across 32 countries within six continents partook in the training and were trained by seasoned speakers in the following categories; Academic, Virtual, Financial, Prayer and Executive categories respectively.

Delivering a presentation, the Home and Urban Missions Coordinator, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, admonished the participants to explore the great tools encompassed in social media to reach out to many with the gospel.

In the virtual missionary category, the Media Ministry Pastor, Pastor Dr Felix Dela Klutse highlighted on the need for the church to reach the estimated 2 billion social media account holders with the truth by creating catchy, inspiring and timely stories of our testimonies online.

“Surely, it is time to break the trend of feeding on the content of immorality and cults that deliberately flood our social media platforms; become intentional Spirit-led content creating evangelists who would counter such trends with the Word of God and save people from all nations through the internet,” Pastor Dr. Klutse stated.

The academic missionaries were advised to make time and share the gospel with peers, and establish campus ministries by Prob./Ovr. Dr. Patrick Adonoo, Coordinator of PENSA International.

He noted that global leaders and influencers of the next generation can be found with much certainty in the present academic circles.

The Financial missionaries, therefore received the essential truth of divine blessings given greatly for the noble cause of the Great Commission mandated by our Lord Jesus and the executive missionaries were given a touch of diplomacy, tact and strategy on how to reach out to high-profile persons. The Prayer missionaries were also deepened with insights on intercession by the facilitators.

Closing the training, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo commissioned the committed men and women who had been equipped to go and possess the nations for Christ.

Youth Ministry Launches Nationwide “Teens Evangelism” Drive

The Church of Pentecost Youth Ministry on Saturday, November 26, 2022, launched the nationwide “Teens Evangelism” exercise at the church auditorium of the Pentecost International Worship Centre, Kaneshie (PIWC-Kaneshie).

Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, the Patron of the ministry, who is also the Area Head for Kaneshie and an Executive Committee Member of The Church of Pentecost, announced the theme: “In Him is Life” (John 1:4) during the official launch ceremony.

Apostle Osei Asante mentioned that Vision 2023 of The Church of Pentecost aims at ensuring that every member is involved in a ministry space for Christ and sees the teens evangelism as one of the prominent steps.

He called for the support of all stakeholders, especially the Area Heads, District Ministers, Presiding Elders, Local Presbytery, Ministry to Teens (M2T) Coordinators, all Youth Workers, as well as, the entire membership of the Church to be actively involved.

In his address, the Deputy Director, Elder Professor Eric Appau Asante, explained that the Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, in a circular dated November 17, 2022, called for a separate nationwide Children and Teens Evangelism for December 2 and 3, as well as December 9 to 10, 2022, respectively.

He described the call as timely in an era where there has been a renewed call for intentional ministry to the teens. Citing the statistics of the teens, Professor Appau Asante mentioned that teens form 45% of the membership of the Youth Ministry.

Inferring from the Chairman’s recent call to build tomorrow’s church today, the Deputy Director stated that Teens Evangelism is a necessary step to attain the vision.

He, therefore, called on all stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the evangelism and emphasised that the programme should be held at the Local Assembly level.

Pastor Gordon Ansah, the National Youth Ministry Secretary and the Chairman of the Planning Committee for Teens Evangelism outlined the programmes of activities for the exercise.

He mentioned that from Monday, December 5 to Thursday, December 8, 2022, would be used for intensive prayer and preparations across all local assemblies.

Schools Outreach Ministry would also visit schools across Ghana on Friday morning (December 9, 2022). Again, on Friday and Saturday evenings there would be nationwide open-air evangelism.

However, Saturday morning (December 10, 2022) has been designated for placard evangelism, market evangelism, distribution of tracts, and all forms of one-on-one evangelism.

In attendance were Pastor Michael Peasah, Kaneshie Area Youth Pastor who doubles as National Executive Committee (NEC) Member of the Youth Ministry, Deaconess Comfort Worna Adade (National Ministry to Teens Coordinator NEC Member), Mrs Priscilla Yirebi (NEC Member), Youth Workers in Accra, some Ministers and Wives in Kaneshie Area, and teens from Kaneshie, Odorkor, and Dansoman Areas.

10 Gallant Officers Retire From Active Service

10 Gallant Officers Retire From Active Service

The Osu District in La Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a retirement service on Sunday, November 27, 2022, for ten officers at the Osu Central Assembly church auditorium.

The retired officers are Elder Felix Kwame Ferkah, who served for 30 years; Elder Daniel Tuah Agyare, 28 years; Deacon David Boahene, 16years; Deaconess Mary Boakye, 24 years; Deaconess Victoria Nana Ansaa Majdoub, 20 years; Deaconess Margaret Ferkah, 36 years; Deaconess Rosina Abrokwah, 20 years; Deaconess Lydia Oppong, 22 years; Deaconess Mary Yaa Appiah Agyeiwaa, 30 years; and Deaconness Comfort Darko, 20 years.

Speaking on the theme; “Serving God with A Clear Conscience to Possess the Nations”, the La Area Head, Apostle Dr. Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, noted that once anyone is called into a leadership or ministry position, they are supposed to serve well with a clear mind and heart in order to receive its associated reward.

“If any leader is able to serve God as they should, they are honoured because not all leaders are able to finish well, some drop on the way due to life compromises,” he added.

Apostle Dieudonne charged members to serve God with a clear mind and heart to contribute meaningfully to the “possessing the nations” agenda, and also to receive blessings from God, adding: “There are biblical examples of the end of both good and bad servants in the Bible.”

With scripture reference to 1 Timothy 1:3-6; Acts 24:16; 2 Corinthians 1:12; Matthew 25:1-24, he cited Apostle Paul as a true reflection of a good leader and servant of God who served with a clear conscience towards God and a man who all Christians should emulate.

Apostle Dr. Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe emphasised the account of the three servants and their master who entrusted them with talents according to their ability. The first two servants worked and gained extra, but the third servant was wise in his own eyes and so could not make any profit due to unclear conscience and impure heart.

He indicated that leaders must be conscious of serving God in faithfulness and truth.

“Cherish whatever God has entrusted into your hands in the church, serve with a clear conscience and a good heart for God to give you initiative on how to excel in what you do because we are rewarded according to our faithfulness and not according to our gifts, titles or positions,” he said.

Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe admonished members to continue in the good works and service to God even in the face of opposition and attack to receive a handsome reward from God.
