Your Children Are Your Greatest Treasure – Apostle Nyamekye Declares

The Chairman of The Church Of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has stated that children are the greatest treasure during retirement.

According to him, the believer’s greatest support is in God and their children, and not even the Church.

“We die but our legacy continues in our children. Your strength in your old age will be found in your children,” he stated.

Apostle Nyamekye made this assertion on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa during the 2022 Retirement Seminar for ministers who have up to ten years (2023-2032) to retire from active service of the church.

The event, which started on Tuesday and will end on Friday, October 14, 2022, is under the theme: “Possessing the Nations: Serving the Saints” (Heb. 6:10).

Speaking on the topic: “Forsake me not when my strength is spent” (Psalm 71), the Chairman noted that it is important to discuss old age and death so that people can factor it into their planning.

“If death is inevitable, put it in your plans,” he said, adding, “If you plan to live long, it will affect the way you conduct yourself; the way you exercise and sleep. If you want to live long, you have to plan; you have to plan to die. Do not defer all these in the hands of God.”

The Chairman further noted that retirement age can be full of loneliness, and the solution to it is to make friends while in active service before retiring, saying, “Make friends, for they will be of great help to you in your old age.”

Pointing out the challenges of old age and retirement, Apostle Eric Nyamekye listed loss of physical strength – bodily or muscular power and vigour; mental power – firmness and courage; loss of power by reason or influence – authority, resources, and numbers.

“All of us grow with the fear of the unknown. It manifests itself very well in children, but it returns at old age; the fear of darkness, fear of noise, and the fear of falling,” he added.

Using Eli and his sons in 1 Samuel 2:12-36 as a case study, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost emphasised that children are indeed the greatest treasure here on earth and that parents need to be intentional in raising them so that they will not go astray.

“The promise of God could be transgenerational, however, the role of children seen to the fulfilment of these promises cannot be overlooked,” he said, adding, “If God’s promise to Abraham has to come to pass, it depends on the children.”

Fear Serves The Agenda Of The Devil – Elder Anane Boate Asserts

A Trustee of The Church of Pentecost, Elder Emmanuel Anane Boate, has noted that fear serves the agenda of the devil, making believers doubt the Word of God.

He made this assumption on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the Pentecost Convention, Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa, during a devotion with participants of the 2022 Retirement Seminar being organised by The Church of Pentecost Pension Board.

The event, which is being attended by ministers and their wives who have up to 10 years (2023-2032) to retire from active service, is under the theme: “Possessing the Nations: Serving the Saints” (Heb. 6:10).

According to Elder Boate, many events in life have put men to fear. These include national issues, territorial issues, and personal issues.

Speaking on the topic, “Fear Not,” he explained that in the scriptures anytime God wanted to do something new in people’s lives, He begins with the phrase ‘Fear not’ (Isaiah 35:3-4).

Elder Emmanuel Boate defined fear as ‘an unpleasant feeling or emotion that is triggered by a perception of danger; whether it is real or perceived.

“The origin of fear is from the Garden of Eden. That was the first time the Bible mentioned fear, according to Genesis 3:9-10,” he revealed.

Elder Boate noted that before God can work on a person’s life, He has to first assure the person not to fear (Gen. 15:1; 26:23-24, Matt. 1:20-21, Luke 1:12-13). He stressed that fear can be natural or can be something that will not bring glory to God.

“God cannot work with us when we are bathed with fear. Before He works in our life, He has to first drive away fear,” he said, adding, “Fear serves the agenda of the devil. It makes us doubt the Word of God.”

He cited some forms of fear recorded in the Bible as the fear of man (Matt. 25:25), fear of failure (Num. 14), fear of death (Heb. 2:15), fear of Satan, demons, witchcraft, fetish (Mark 6:47-51), fear of illness, fear of the unknown and the fear of darkness.

Describing the dangers of fear, Elder Boate noted that faith compelled Peter to walk on water, but fear sank him, according to Matthew 14:31.

He, however, explained that the cure for fear is a closer walk with Jesus Christ (Acts 4:13), the Spirit of God (2 Tim. 1:7), and dwelling in the shelter of the Almighty God (Psalm 91).

“As we labour towards our retirement, challenges may come our way, perceived or real. But remember that the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Therefore, fear not, let us with confidence say, ‘even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil’ for God will lift you out of the challenges of retirement,’” he concluded.

Speakers for the event include Apostle Eric Nyamekye (Chairman, CoP), Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (General Secretary, CoP), Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe (IMD, CoP), Apostle John Appiah Aidoo (Chairman, Pension Board), Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko (Finance & Administration Director, CoP HQ), Apostle Philip Osei Korsah (Director, Counselling Ministry, CoP), Apostle Dr. Ing. Joseph Teye I. Buertey (PIWC Asokwa), and Apostle Rigwell Ato Addison (retired) – former General Secretary of the church).

Others include Pastor Dr. Edward Arko Koranteng (Medical Director of the Pentecost Hospital, Madina), Elder Paul Kofi Mante (Managing Director, EDC – Ecobank Gh. Ltd.), Mrs Esther Mmabilla Tamakloe, Elder Lawyer Kwaku Agyei Gyamfi (Member, Pension Board/Legal Advisor, CoP), Elder Dr. Stephen Ankamah-Lomotey, Mr Ernest Amartey-Vondee (Director, Planning, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the NPRA), and Mrs. Beatrice Osarfo of SSNIT.

In attendance were some members of the Executive Council, namely Prophet David Kankam Beditor (Area Head, Ashaiman), Apostle Samuel Osei Asante (Area Head, Kaneshie), Apostle Dr. Daniel Okyere Walker (Area Head, Tarkwa), among others.

About 500 ministers and their wives are attending the seminar which is on the theme, “Possessing the Nations: Serving the Saints,” – Hebrews 6:10.

Officially opening the seminar on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the Chairman of the Pension Board of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle John Appiah Aidoo, thanked God for sustaining the lives of the ministers throughout ministry.

Apostle Aidoo thanked the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and the Executive Council for their support to the Pension Board.

He noted that the last time the seminar was held was in 2016 and the feedback from participants was very positive as most of them requested that more such seminars should be organised at shorter intervals.

According to him, the theme for this year’s seminar has been carefully selected to reflect the five-year vision of the church which has the overarching theme of Possessing the Nations.

“As key leaders of the church, our prime focus should be to serve the saints, thereby equipping them to be agents of transformation in their spheres of life. We are called to serve just as our Master, Jesus, came to serve,” he added.

Some of the topics to be treated during the three-day seminar include Pension Schemes in Ghana, SSNIT Pension Scheme, Financial Planning Towards Retirement, Financial Procedures in The Church of Pentecost, The Church of Pentecost Pensions and Entitlement, Ageing and Related Health Issues of Concern, Mental Health Preparation for Retirement, Psychological Well-Being of the Minister.

Others are Marriage and Family Life During Retirement, Will-Process and Procedure and Interstate Succession Law, Sharing of Life Experience in Retirement/How to Thrive in Retirement, Preparing Towards a Fruitful Retirement: Real Estate Development and Asset Acquisition Management.

Statistically, Apostle Aidoo noted that as of the end of December 2021, the total number of retirees and their wives in the church was 217 whilst the number of widows stood at 115. He stated 42 ministers and their wives proceeded on retirement this year, and accordingly joined the scheme.

He also added that the Ministers Welfare Fund also cares for 44 children of ministers who qualified under the Ministers’ Children Education Scheme.

‘Asanteman Great Gospel Crusade’ Gathers Momentum

The 2022 All Churches Asanteman Great Gospel Crusade with Evangelist Daniel Kolenda of the Christ for All Nations (CfaN), founded by Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, which is expected to take place from November 10-13, 2022, in Kumasi, is gathering momentum as the clergy in Ashanti meet to pray and strategize for the event.

Hundreds of ministers of the gospel from various Christian denominations gathered at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Asokwa on Monday, October 10, 2022, to seek the face of God for the upcoming mega crusade.

According to the African Director of the CfaN, Rev. John Darko, about 2millions souls are estimated to be won for Christ during the crusade as 200 evangelists drawn from various parts of the world, supported by their Ghanaian counterparts, will be assembled in the region to spread the gospel to residents.

The Special Guest Speaker at the meeting, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and First Vice President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), speaking on the topic: “The Spiritual Character of the Minister that will Mould the Generation for God” with 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 as his main Bible text, said that though Christians found themselves in different denominations, they are all one in Christ, because “we are all talking about Jesus, the saviour of the world.”

He mentioned that the All Churches Asanteman Great Gospel Crusade will mark the beginning of the revival that we the Christian community is expecting in the country in this generation.

“If you are a minister of the gospel in this generation, then we need to step up our game, because we are living in a perverse generation. The church must sit up,” he said, adding, “Let it be that this crusade will mark the beginning of the revival that we all envisage. There is going to be an influx of souls, but my concern is the hands that will tender them when the crusade is over.”

He said that the light of the world is in jug of clay, but the light must be let out so that it can serve its purpose of shining to the entire world. According to him, the minister of the gospel is the jug in whom God has deposited the treasures of the earth.

He added that for the world to receive the light and expel darkness, then the life of ministers must be of a concerned to all, saying, “The minister makes the ministry and his whole life is behind the ministry. Ministry then can be said to be an overflow of divine life through mortal vessels.”

For the spiritual life of the minister to mould people for Christ, Apostle Nyamekye asked pastors to allow themselves to be broken by God in their closets (2 Corinthians 4:10-11); impersonate the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 2:3; 2 Corinthians 8:20-21); be spiritually receptive (Psalm 27:8); be heroic, thus being compassionate for lost souls, fearless men and women, and ready to thread unfamiliar territories (2 Corinthians 11:24-26 ), be prayerful (Luke 21:37; Luke 22:39; Luke 6:12), and be faithful to the message they preach (2 Corinthians 4:5: 1 Corinthians 2:2.

Present at the meeting were members of the planning committee of the crusade led by Rev. Douglas Frimpong.

Maiden All Ministers’ Conference Ends In Grand Style

“Now dearly beloved, the charge has been given, God’s intended purpose for the church has been well defined, our faith has been challenged, our passion has been refueled and from here, I have no doubt that we will think and act differently as ministers of the gospel as we collectively pursue with diligence the purpose of the Church.”

These were the words of Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, as he closed the much-inspired maiden All Ministers’ Conference 2022.

The four-day conference which ended today [Friday, September 16, 2022] at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), at Gomoah-Fetteh, near Kasoa, started on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

The non-denominational biggest gathering of ministers of the gospel in Ghana was organised by The Church of Pentecost.

In his closing address, Apostle Nyamekye expressed his sincere appreciation to all heads of churches who supported the vision and took time out of their busy schedules to attend the conference with their ministers and resources.

The Chairman iterated that the Lord has been gracious to the participants and the church throughout the period.

“This graciousness was seen through songs, prayer sessions, prophecies and ministrations from our speakers,” he said, adding, “We have been refreshed; we have enjoyed deep fellowship together and I am convinced that we are leaving this conference poised to influence the nation with the invaluable lessons we have received here.”

According to Apostle Nyamekye, the kind of unity exhibited during the conference was enough to show that together, the church of God is a potent force to reckon with.

“If we keep this beautiful fellowship going, we shall become an unstoppable force that the gates of hell cannot contend with,” he stated.

He encouraged all participating Christian leaders to return to their respective churches as a great army sent out into the world to make battle for the Lord.

He added: “With Jesus as our Commander-in-Chief, victory is assured. If God be for us, who can be against us? The Church of God shall be built, the Kingdom of God shall advance, and our nation Ghana shall be transformed.”

About 3,000 ministers drawn from 468 different Christian denominations across the country attended the conference, which was under the theme: “Rediscovering and Fulfilling the Purpose of the Church” – Ephesians 3:10, Titus 2:13-14.

Apostle Nyamekye Charges Church Leaders To Arise And Impact Nations

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has charged church leaders to fulfill their calling by arising as change agents to transform every sphere of society.

According to the Chairman, every generation of Christians determines what type of culture will rule their society and it lies in the hands of the church and Christians to change their nations. But if they fail to accomplish this task, he said, God will raise another generation for this agenda.

“The church is the hope of the manifestation of the glory of God as it is the most powerful institution on earth and the most loved by God because she is the bride of Christ,” he affirmed.

Apostle Nyamekye made this call to church leaders on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the All Ministers’ Conference held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), in Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa.

In a sermon based on Ephesians 3:10-11, Apostle Nyamekye stated that the church is to partner with heaven to control the earth and the heavens since heaven is always waiting for the church to move for a greater impact in transforming societies.

Talking about the zeal and passion of the early church in transforming their nations, Apostle Nyamekye stated that the early church was not a group of people meeting together for God to supply their needs, but their agenda was going into all the world and transforming it for the Lord.

He admonished church leaders not to try building their own churches but step out with Kingdom values and principles and affect every sphere of society.

Chairman Nyamekye further stated that God is not terribly concerned with church size and church ministries, but His concern is that through the Church, nations will walk in righteousness.

“Churches do not exalt nations, it is righteousness that exalts a nation,” he added.

Explaining further, he revealed that the church fulfills its calling when it transforms spheres like government and politics, chieftaincy, business and economy, education and science, media space, culture and entertainment, sports and religion, and the family, among others.

He then admonished Christians to transform the family sphere by intentionally building family altars with consistent family devotions.

“If we manage the family well, we will be saving the next generation and the home should be our first church and a seminary where godly children will be consciously raised for the church and the state,” he ended.

The Salvation Of God Is For All Nations – Apostle Nyamekye

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has stated that the salvation of God is prepared for all nations across the world.

According to the Chairman, when God told Abraham that all nations on earth would be blessed because of him, it was the beginning of the propagation of the gospel, saying, “The gospel is the death of Christ, his burial and his resurrection.”

Apostle Nyamekye made this declaration on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the maiden All Ministers’ Conference 2022, being held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa.

Speaking on the topic, “The Purpose of The Church: The Jewish Root of Christianity,” Apostle Eric Nyamekye said that God strategically chose the Israelites to reveal Himself through them to the nations.

“Every Israelite male or female has a stake in the kingdom of God,” the Chairman stated, adding that, everyone of them was an agent and priest of God who stood between Him and the people and taught the laws of God to their children.

He said that since God made the Jewish a people of God, a holy nation with the greatest of all, He instructed them to abstain from the pollution of the world.

“Let us follow the pattern in whatever we do and apply them in achieving the purpose of the church,” he charged.

Reading from Deuteronomy 6:1 and 7:1, Apostle Nyamekye disclosed that God deliberately pushed the Israelites into the world to possess and influence the lands, saying, “They were spread widely to disseminate the knowledge that God is one, that people who put their trust in Him will be blessed.”

He then admonished church leaders to be the salt and light of the world in order to heal the land of its corruptible behaviour. He disclosed that the core motive behind God making believers the salt of the earth is to heal the land from all evil.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye further said that the agenda of Jesus Christ was not to save a few people but to build His church and to establish a community for God, while admonishing the clergy to develop the gifts imputed in them having been created to be like God.

God Is Not Enthused About Denominational Differences – Apostle Eric Nyamekye Observes

“I don’t think God is terribly enthused about denominational distinctions. Varying denominations may be helpful because human beings differ, and some may prefer a particular style and mode of worship.”

These were the words of Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and Convenor of the first All Ministers’ Conference (non-denominational conference).

Opening the conference on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region, Apostle Nyamekye posited that no one particular denomination has the truth and that the truth is in Christ, who is the truth.

“What we hold are truths about the Truth [Christ]. We need then to pool our truths so that the sum total of our truth will nearly approximate the Truth. With this understanding, let us humbly open up to the Holy Spirit to receive from Him,” he said.

Touching on the theme for the conference, “Rediscovering and Fulfilling the Purpose of the Church” – Ephesians 3:10, Titus 2:13-14, he indicated that the conference’s purpose was to help bring to the fore the understanding of the dual purpose or the dual identity of the Church.

According to him, the Church is called out of the world to belong to God and sent back to the world to witness and to serve His purpose among the nations, saying, “If the Church is able to rediscover its identity as originally given by God in the scriptures and made alive and relevant by the Spirit of God, we could be in the most exciting times in the history of the Church.”

He added: “Everything depends on our ability to understand the Church as it ought to be, our willingness to change where necessary, and above all our determination to keep our lives continually opened to spiritual freshness.”

Explaining the rationale for organising the conference, Apostle Nyamekye pointed out that during a mid-year Executive Council meeting in August 2021, the Lord laid it on the hearts of the executives to organise a conference to share fellowship with all ministers in Ghana.

The vision, he said, was unanimously endorsed by the heads of The Church of Pentecost and subsequently by the General Council, which culminated in his visit to other colleague heads of churches who wholeheartedly accepted it and pledged their unflinching support and participation in the conference.

“And today to the glory of God, the vision the Lord laid on our heart has become a reality,” he said.

He continued: “What a pleasant and beautiful sight to behold, to see the Lord’s army, gathered in one place, not bound by denominational barriers nor separated by doctrine but united in love,” he stressed.

Speakers for the conference include Apostle Eric Nyamekye (Chairman, CoP), Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah (Rtd), immediate past Chairman of CoP and former President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso (President of the GPCC and immediate past General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana), Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong (former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana), and Apostle Dr. Ami-Narh (President of The Apostle Church).

The Convenor of the maiden All Ministers’ Conference, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has assured that the great power of God will be manifested in the upcoming conference.

The non-denominational conference which is being organised by The Church of Pentecost for Ghanaian ministers of the gospel, takes place from September 13-16, 2022, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region of Ghana.

Apostle Nyamekye, who is the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, believes that God has a purpose for the Church and, through the conference, that purpose will be realised so that the face of Christianity in Ghana will be changed for the better.

Speaking at a 2-day orientation and prayer session for heads and their wives of The Church of Pentecost on Monday, September 12, 2022, towards the All Ministers’ Conference, Apostle Nyamekye disclosed that the conference has been oversubscribed as over 400 different Christian denominations have so far registered their ministers to take part in the event.

He indicated that due to limited accommodation facilities currently at the convention centre, only 2,800 participants will be admitted to the conference.

Reading from Joshua 10: 40-43, Apostle Nyamekye said that Joshua was able to conquer the strong nations at Kadesh because the Lord fought the battles for him.

Relating it to the enviable position that the Lord has brought The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Nyamekye intimated that God has taken the church from the fringes of society to the limelight.

“God has blessed The Church of Pentecost so much. A church that had no name and respect some years back, is today taking the initiative to organise this big conference for the Christian community in Ghana. This is how great the Lord has made this church.”

“We are not going to teach them how to do or manage their churches; we respect what they are doing. But we want to forge together as a unit to build the body of Christ.”
