Seek Divine Wisdom To Rule Your People – Apostle Nyamekye Tells Chiefs

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has admonished chiefs and queens to seek divine wisdom to help them provide quality leadership that will inure to the benefit of their people.

Apostle Nyamekye said this on Friday, June 3, 2022, when addressing over 1,500 chiefs, queens, and other royals from Ghana, Togo, Benin and Burkina Faso at the closing ceremony of the 3rd Royals’ Conference which took place at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh.

The triennial conference which was organised by the Chieftaincy Ministry of The Church of Pentecost in collaboration with the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) was on the theme: “Equipping Royals As Gatekeepers To Possess The Nations.”

Speaking on the topic, “Give Me Wisdom” with James 3:13-18 as his main text, Apostle Nyamekye said that wisdom is the greatest need of humans apart from man’s need of God and His word.

He noted that Ghana is flooded with chieftaincy disputes because the wisdom that some royals are using to rule is not coming from above but earthly.

He stated: “We need wisdom from above to manage our personal lives and the people we rule.”

Explaining why human beings need wisdom, the Chairman pointed out that life is full of challenges, and as a result, leaders are daily confronted with decision-making, hence they need to take good decisions in order to move their communities forward.

“The need for wisdom becomes critical when you lead people. This is because the leader’s decision has a ripple effect on the whole constituents he leads.

“We have been elevated as chiefs and queens to solve difficult problems, answer tough questions, and meet uncommon needs,” he stated.

Quoting from 1 Samuel 8:19-20, he mentioned that kings or leaders were chosen to lead the people of Israel to fight their battles.

He therefore charged royals to deal with the battles and struggles of their subjects to bring relief to the people.

According to him, leadership is responsibility, work, but not showmanship, saying, “Leadership is not power, leadership is not wealth, leadership is not fame; it is not to make your enemies fear you and your friends admire you.

“Leadership is responsibility. Leadership is not time to payback your enemies. You have to use the authority that you have been given to build up your people and communities not to destroy them,” he added.

The Church of Pentecost Chairman Pays Courtesy Call On Twifo Heman Paramount Chief

The Church of Pentecost Chairman Pays Courtesy Call On Twifo Heman Paramount Chief

As part of efforts to build a formidable union and bridge the gap between the church and the chieftaincy institution, The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has paid a courtesy call on Otumfuo Amoah Sasraku IV, Paramount Chief of Twifo Heman Traditional Council.

This occurred not long at the Tuaanko Palace, in Twifo Hemang, in the Central Region of Ghana, during his ministerial visit to the Twifo Praso Area of The Church of Pentecost (CoP).

He was accompanied by Pastor David Addo-Pappoe (Twifo Praso Area Head, The Church of Pentecost), Pastor Matthew Mpaba (Twifo Nyinase District Minister, The Church of Pentecost), Pastor Seth Kwame Sackey (Twifo Hemang District Minister, CoP), Pastor Samson & Mrs. Rejoice Abradu (Twifo Mampong District, CoP), Pastor Vincent Ephraim Amegah (Twifo Praso District Minister, CoP), and Elder Seth Addo-Kumi (Twifo Praso Area Deacon, CoP).

In a short address, Apostle Nyamekye noted that service to the nation critically relies on the chiefs, and mentioned that in the olden days, priests and kings ruled together.

According to the Chairman of the church, God used Solomon to rule and lead Israel when he based on the Bible while asking for wisdom from Him.

“Therefore, I am confident that if you take the Bible, as your companion in leading your people, Twifo Heman would flourish,” he stated.

The Chieftaincy Ministry, a new ministry in the church, that has the mandate to visit and oversee the chaplaincy needs of royals and chiefs, he iterated has been put in place to help them well.

“Chieftaincy is leadership, therefore if someone says he wants to rule, it is to serve the people,” he said, adding: “It is a sacrifice unto the people, not a place to enrich oneself”.

Otumfuo Amoah Sasraku IV, Paramount Chief of Twifo Heman Traditional Council, in response recalled that The Church of Pentecost, is noted for their enthusiasm and holistic services in the communities, especially during their crusades and conventions.

He thanked The Church for its continuous prayers and support it renders to the community. He iterated that in God’s own wisdom, it was not idol worshipping that made Saul to be enthroned to lead Israel.

He explained that God had a purpose not for Saul to have his own way. He, however ignored the directions of Prophet Samuel to act on his own accord and God sidelined Saul from the throne.

He entreated fellow chiefs to endeavour to serve their people in the fear of God, while acting according to his will and purpose.

“If the chieftaincy institution and the government together, rely solely on the instructions and Word of God, the nation will be a better one for us all,” he asserted.

He, then admonished the clergy to draw near to the chiefs, in order to teach them the Word of God, despite the resilience against such acts by others.

He lauded the Christendom for its massive impact in the nation, which has even had a toll on the National House of Chiefs, where he reiterated that engages in devotions before meetings commence. Such initiatives he said must be commended greatly and encouraged.

Concluding, he urged The Church of Pentecost, to focus more on its international mission activities where members need more directions and prayers.

Present were Nana Adubofo (Mawerehene), Nana Twafohene (Acting President of Twifo Heman Traditional Council), Nana Mensa Abrampa (Abusuapanin of Twifo Heman Traditional Area), Nana Agyeman (First Son of Twifo Heman Paramout Chief), Nana Adwoa Asor Obeng II (Queenmother of Twifo Heman Traditional Council), Nana Gyamfi (Brother of Twifo Heman Paramout Chief), Aunty Victoria (Siter of Twifo Heman Paramout Chief), Okyeame Oppong (Kyeame panin of Twifo Heman Paramout Chief), and Okyeame Akyena (Kyeame ketewa of Twifo Heman Paramout Chief).

The Church Of Pentecost Chairman Celebrates Easter With Persons With Disabilities

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, spent this year’s Easter season in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, sharing fellowship with members of the Koforidua Deaf Assembly of the church.

The Church of Pentecost, as part of its five-year strategic vision (Vision 2023) which has an overarching aim of ‘Possessing the Nations,’ established a separate ministry dedicated to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) dubbed Ministry to Persons With Disabilities (MPWDs) to offer them the space to worship God without any impediments.

Joining the just-ended Koforidua Area Easter convention which took place at the Jubilee Park, Gallaway, Apostle Nyamekye took time off his busy schedule to interact with the members of the Deaf Assembly who took part in the convention.

In an interview with PENTECOST NEWS, Elder David Asante Agyei, Presiding Elder of the Deaf Assembly, said that his members could not hide their utmost joy and gratitude to God for the opportunity to join and celebrate the Easter together.

“When you make them feel that they are the same as you, they will rally and accept whatever you do,” he stated.

He disclosed that the Koforidua District Minister of the church, Pastor Akwasi Amo Afropong, has put in much effort to make services conducive for them whenever they meet together.

He mentioned that the opportunity to lead the Deaf Assembly became expedient for him to learn from them. He, therefore, urged all Christians to endeavour to learn sign language to help in smooth communication with PWDs during church service.

Elder Agyei further called on members of the church to approach persons with disabilities with smiles, especially deaf persons. According to him, they communicate through facial expressions, saying, “If even you cannot sign, a smile to them is enough.”

He noted that as the only officer of the church with the PWDs, previously the total number of deaf persons was 43. However, the number has currently increased to 82 due to the creation of the Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs). This, he believed, has led to many people bringing their families and friends who are equally in same state to church.

He thanked the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, and the Koforidua Area Head, Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, as well as Pastor Akwasi Amo Afropong, Koforidua District Minister, for their immense support to the ministry.

Koforidua Area Climaxes Easter Convention Successfully

Koforidua Area Climaxes Easter Convention In Grand-Style

The Koforidua Area of The Church of Pentecost has successfully climaxed its 2022 Easter Convention to the glory of God.

The five-day colourful event, which began on Wednesday, March 13, 2022, ended yesterday, at the Jubilee Park, Koforidua Gallaway in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Speaking on the topic: “What Is Our Response To The Love of Christ?” Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, said a cursory study of Apostle Paul’s life shows that he really served God so tirelessly and sacrificially to the extent that, those who did not like him much saw him to be crazy.

“Apostle Paul contended for the faith with his life and his strength,” he stated, stressing that, there was a driving force that moved him to go the extra mile for Christ.

Reading from 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost pointed out that believers should see troubles as preparation for an eternal glory that far outweighs everything.

“So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal,” he stated.

Apostle Nyamekye expressed regret on how many people spend a lot of time trying to enhance their body to be perfect, forgetting that it is an earthly tent that will be destroyed one day.

He, therefore urged Christians to concentrate on building eternal houses in heaven which cannot be destroyed.

He further lamented on how many Christians go to church wishing to receive prophecies and messages about wealth that will appease their souls. This, he said, happens because many Christians do not understand God’s Word.

In illustrating about Barabas and Jesus, the Chairman of The Church further said that Barabas was the representation of the sins of man (world) and Jesus exchanged our destiny of death with His life and saved us.

“When God saves us, He saves our generation too. And it is this love of Christ, that compelled him to go the extra mile,” he noted.

Quoting from C.T. Studd, he reiterated that: “If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.”

He urged the clergy to depend solely on God in their moments of difficulties and trials.

Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, the Koforidua Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, and Executive Council Member of the church, led the congregation in a moment of prayers.

On his part, Hon. Okyere Baafi, Deputy Trade Minister & Member of Parliament for New Juaben, said Covid-19 brought low economic and financial difficulties, yet the prayers of the believers sustained the nation and called for continuous prayer support for the nation.

Present at the ceremony were some royals in the church namely, Manya Dede Yormoh (Queen mother of Yilo Traditional Area), Regina Agyeiwaa Mrah (Ohemaa of New Juaben Traditional Council), Nana Apete Kura (Nkonwahene of Asokore), Nana Baawuo (Effiduase Hene), Nana Tei Korle II (Korle Nkwantahene), Mrs. Elizabeth Nartey (Daughter of Late Apostle A.T. Christianity Without Easter is meaningless - Apostle Nyamekye Declares

Christianity Without Easter is meaningless – Apostle Nyamekye Declares

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, has implored Christians to accept the love of Christ exhibited to them on the Cross of Calvary wholeheartedly.

According to the Chairman of the church, when you take Easter out of Christianity, it becomes meaningless, adding: “the purpose of our worship is due to the death of Christ.”

This, he said at the Akuapem Zone Easter Convention, today at the Presby ‘B’ School Park, Amanokrom, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Speaking to the topic: “What Is Our Response to the Love of Christ to Us,” Apostle Nyamekye said that it is the love of Christ that compels Apostle Paul, moved him along, as a person is moved along in a crowd. (2 Corinthians 5:1ff; 6:1ff)

“Apostle Paul contemplated on the marvelous love that Christ showed to him; he could not help but to move along in service for his wonderful savior and redeemer,” he stated.

He set a precedent in Acts 21:10-14, where the Prophet Agabus came down from Judea, took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands, warning him of the occurrences he was likely to face in Jerusalem. Withstanding that, Paul, however, was not perturbed by the prophecy and left.

He added: “This, makes us realise that Apostle Paul worked sacrificially and tirelessly for the sake of the blood and name of Jesus Christ.”

He further noted that though physically Paul had no beauty, yet spiritually he was full and endowed with great power and the knowledge of Christ. He asserted that Paul was surprised by the love Jesus showed to mankind on the cross and pledged to die in Him.

Reading from Isaiah 53:1ff, he mentioned that: “The price of sin is death. We were heading towards the destination of death, which was our initial place, however, Jesus’ death exchanged our destiny for life.”

He iterated that the love of God through His son Jesus, made us newly-created beings on the cross, therefore, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come.”

He, then admonished Christians to restrain from looking down on each other, because we have all been reconciled in Christ.

“From henceforth, do not judge any one in their human nature. Desist from that practice,” he reiterated and mentioned that we have all been blessed spiritually through the blood of Christ.

He called on the political leaders to also, eschew from tribal politics. This, he believes brings national division and hatred among the tribes, resulting in negative vices.

Touching on the work given to Christians by Jesus Christ, he pointed out that each person has been given the Ministry of reconciliation and the Words of reconciliation.

According to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, the ministry of reconciliation made us the light of the world, and the words of reconciliation, is that: “for our sake He made him to be sin, the one who knew no sin, so that in Him (Christ), we might become the righteousness of God.”

He further said that many Christians now days fail to admit their stand in Christ, due to the trials and obstacles that come their way. He, therefore, assured them that trials and difficulties are part and parcel of the Christian, and added: “you can not be a Christian and not be faced with obstacles.”

Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, Koforidua Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, and Executive Council Member of the church, then led the congregation in an intensive prayer.

The convention was also, graced with the presence of Oyeman Osinkwetia II, Amanokromhene and Gyaasehene of Akuapem Traditional Council; Nana Kwasi Ntow, Frankaahene of Amanokrom, Elder Nana Otutu Larbi, Asisieso Mawerehene, Nana Osasraaku I, Abriw Akwamu Gyaasehene, Nana Ampem Darkowaa, Dabenhene of Abriw, Nana Ankobea Kwasi Kwapong, Amanokrom, Elder Nana Akyiako II, Otumfuo Apagyahene of Asanteman, and Nana Otopa Boateng III, Otopahene.

“The Church of Pentecost has purposed to draw near to the chiefs in our church and communities, to emphasise on the God-factor in chieftaincy through the Chieftaincy Ministry of the church,” he explained.

Let Your Marriages Be Examples To The Society – Apostle Nyamekye Tells The Clergy

Let Your Marriages Be Examples To The Society – Apostle Nyamekye Tells The Clergy

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, has urged ministers and wives of the church to make their homes the model for marriage in the society.

According to the Chairman of the church, the Puritans saw the family as the basic unit of the society and a little church in itself.

He said this today on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the Assin Foso and Twifo Praso Ministers and Wives’ Session of his working visit to the two Areas, at the Foso Station Central Auditorium, Assin Foso.

Speaking on the topic: “Family Life As An Endangered Institution,” Apostle Nyamekye pointed out that it is a call to be a husband and father, a wife and mother, hence both couple must support each other’s salvation.

He noted that as the number of domestic prayers in the home decreased, the number of divorces in the home increased. He, therefore admonished the clergy to accept their wives no matter how they are to set as a precedence for their children.

“It is an understandable fact that marriage was instituted before the onset of Christianity. A well-disciplined and godly family speaks more about the church and Christ, than all the sermons that can be preached,” he explained.

He, then admonished Christian marriage couples to live exemplary lives in their marriages, to serve as a benchmark for their children as well.

He further mentioned that the young people in this generation are losing faith in the institution of marriage, rather they preferred cohabitation to marriage.

“Today’s generation lacks commitment to marry and is afraid of the permanence the concept of marriage proposes; and are quick to jump out of marriage at the slightest challenge”, he stated.

Touching on marriage, he likened it to a house being built which requires a strong and good foundation, and added: “the family is the foundation of the house, when you build it well, you will enjoy staying in it”.

He entreated the clergy to allocate time for marital teachings in the church. This, he believes would help to solve the issues of marriage in the society.

He then advised them to spend more time in prayer and the unadulterated Word of God, be taught in their homes deliberately to make it strong.

The Assin Foso Area of The Church of Pentecost, is led by Apostle Frederick K. and Mrs. Kate Andoh, and comprises of Foso Town, Foso Station, Assin Akonfudi, Assin Aworoso, Assin Manso, Assin Nyankomasi, Mempeasem, Assin Praso, Assin Bereku, Assin Darmang, Assin Adiembra, Hasowode, Assin Nsuta, Adansi Atwereboana, Assin Andoe, Assin Akrofuom, and Assin Akropong districts.
