“Togo for Christ” Crusade: 10 New Assemblies Already Opened

Pre-crusade evangelism activities undertaken ahead of the “Togo for Christ” crusade have resulted in the opening of ten new assemblies to the glory of God.

The newly-created assemblies are Boutame-Cope (Bodie District), Zionou (Kati District), Seko (Anaho District), Djagble (Be-Adakpame District), Dote (Kolo Cope District), Avakodja (Agodzololo), Dzope (Elavanyo District), Mivakpo (Kovie District), Temedza Bethel and Illico (both in the Hiheatro District).

These new assemblies were established following evangelism outreaches organised by members of the Advance Team of the Evangelism Ministry. Their efforts included personal evangelism, house-to-house evangelism, film evangelism, and more.

The weeklong crusade is being jointly organised by the International Missions Directorate, The Church of Pentecost Togo International, and the Evangelism Ministry at Adidogome Park in Lome, Togo.

Indications suggest that this historic crusade is set to record an unprecedented number of souls won for Christ, with over 2,500 individuals, including children, already led to Christ through the pre-crusade activities.

Additionally, 68 people surrendered their lives to Christ and underwent water baptism on the first day of the event, held yesterday, Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

To the glory of God, 27 of the new converts also received the Holy Spirit baptism with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Adopt Holistic Approach to Make Evangelism Effective – Church Leaders Advised

Pastor Frank Awuah Fordjour, the Crusades Coordinator for the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, has advised church leaders to adopt a holistic approach to evangelism to make the Gospel relevant, productive, and fruitful in contemporary times.

Pastor Frank Awuah gave this advice during his presentation on the topic “Holistic Evangelism Approach to Possess the Nations” in the morning session of the ongoing “Togo for Christ” crusade on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the CIAP-Yokoe auditorium.

“The global evangelisation drive of the Christian Church in this post-modern era is confronted with many challenges such as secularisation and urbanisation. Therefore, there is a need for new approaches and efforts in the practical proclamation of the gospel,” he said.

According to him, renewed ways and strategies are essential for reaching out with the gospel of salvation to urbanised, secularised, and post-modern societies, as well as rural, remote, and developing areas.

“Other relevant challenges include finding workable ways of reaching out to some minority or specialised groups, which require specialised training,” he added.

He further proposed a model for undertaking a holistic outreach, outlining the following steps: intercessory fasting and prayers, scouting the area where outreach is to take place, developing an outreach proposal indicating the objectives and targets of the outreach, mobilising teams and equipment for the outreach, dispatching an advance team to the outreach area ahead of the scheduled period, publicising the event, post-crusade follow-up on new converts, and budget and fund mobilisation.

He emphasised that following this model would ensure the effective organisation of the crusade and the full integration of new converts won into the church.

The Church Is Endowed With Great Power & Great Grace for Evangelism – Elder Dr. Ken Aboah

Elder Dr. Ken Aboah, a member of the National Executive Committee of the Evangelism Ministry and a trustee of The Church of Pentecost, has asserted that the church is endowed with great power and grace to liberate all who are under the bondage of the evil one.

Elder Dr. Aboah made this statement during the morning session of the ongoing “Togo for Christ” crusade on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the CIAP-Yokoe auditorium.

Speaking on the topic “Power Evangelism,” the esteemed Elder explained that the Kingdom of God came to exert itself against the Kingdom of Satan through the coming of Jesus Christ and the preaching of His gospel (Matthew 6:9, Colossians 1:13, Acts 26:17-18, 1 John 3:8). He emphasised that believers must always keep this in mind in their evangelistic pursuits.

He noted that many have become slaves to Satan and sin, lost, prey, alienated from God, dead in spirit, and citizens of the Kingdom of darkness. Christians, he urged, must adopt power evangelism to redeem such people.

Elder Dr. Aboah defined power evangelism as the kind of evangelism that is not just based on the word of God (Logos), but also on the demonstration of the power of God (Exousia).

“Man’s method involves oratory, eloquence, persuasion, enticement, manipulation, human wisdom, and philosophies, and sometimes scaring and threatening people with bad omens. Power evangelism is God’s method,” he said.

He emphasised that the Kingdom of the evil one is no match for God’s power, and for this reason, believers should have no fear of evil forces.

Referencing Acts 2:37, 4:33, 11:21-25, 14:1-3; Acts 6:8; Mark 16:20; and Acts 5:12-16, he pointed out that in the Early Church, believers preached in the power of the Holy Spirit, casting out demons and healing the sick.

Elder Dr. Aboah stated that the demonstration of God’s power affirms the gospel message that believers preach and urged Christians to always avail themselves as vessels to be used for the demonstration of God’s power.

He also assured believers that, like the early church, they too are endowed with great grace and power to do exploits for the Lord, depopulating the kingdom of Satan and populating the Kingdom of God.

Jesus Is The Only Name That Saves – Apostle Dr. Jimmy Markin

Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, the Evangelism Ministry Director of The Church of Pentecost, has affirmed that there is no name other than Jesus by which humanity can be saved.

He made this declaration yesterday during the opening of the “Togo for Christ” crusade at Adidogome Park in Lome, Togo.

In a brief sermon based on Luke 7:37-40, 48, and 50, Apostle Dr. Markin, who is also an Executive Council Member of the Church, emphasised that the greatest problem facing humanity is not poverty, sickness, disease, or the pursuit of witchcraft and charms, but sin.

He warned that sin kills, paralyses, blinds, and is the root of all evil, which is why it is the cause of all the problems of humanity.

“When the devil possesses you, he makes you do strange things. The worst name that can ever be given to you is ‘sinner’,” he said.

Apostle Dr. Markin further noted that sin alienates one from God, their future, and eternity, stressing that Jesus is the only cure for sin.

He explained that all humanity has sinned because they were conceived and born in sin. Therefore, everyone must come to faith in Jesus, declaring: “Jesus saves, heals, forgives sins, sets captives free, and gives hope to the hopeless.”

He asserted that the name of Jesus is the only name in and under heaven by which humanity can be redeemed from the destructive influence of sin.

He thus urged all who are yet to surrender their lives to Christ by accepting Him as their Lord and personal Saviour.

The “Togo for Christ” crusade is being jointly organised by the International Missions Directorate, The Church of Pentecost Togo International and the Evangelism Ministry Directorate of the church.

The four-day crusade is under the theme “Jesus Saves and Heals.”

The Evangelism Ministry Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, has expressed that the leadership of the Church prays for not less than 10,000 souls to be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Apostle Dr. Markin, who also serves as an Executive Council Member of the Church, made this statement today [June 30, 2024] during the official launch of the “Greater Accra Unleashed” Crusade at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) dome in Kokomlemle, Accra.

He emphasised that the event would be unprecedented, resulting in a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in the country.

The weeklong crusade will include various activities such as house-to-house evangelism, sports evangelism, film evangelism, open-air rallies, dawn broadcasts, market and lorry station evangelism, street evangelism, placard and tract distribution, digital media (social media) evangelism, and medical outreach.

Haatso Area Organises In Him Is Life Crusade At Pantang Hospital Park web

Haatso Area Organises “In Him Is Life” Crusade At Pantang Hospital Park

The Pantang Hospital Park is the venue for a soul-saving and life-transforming crusade, dubbed “In Him Is Life,” organised by the Haatso Area of The Church of Pentecost.

The four-day crusade is part of a series of activities marking the end of the 2024 mid-year programmes.

Opening the event on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the Area Head, Apostle William Boakye Agyarko, spoke on the main theme, “In Him Is Life,” based on John 1:1-4.

He defined life as a period of time in which something is in existence or operates.

Apostle Agyarko stated that Jesus came into the world to give eternal life freely to man, along with all the necessary things to make life easy for those who freely come to accept Him as their Lord and Saviour.

“When you come to Jesus, you receive in abundance not only salvation but also peace, love, joy, and protection from Satan and his host of demons,” Apostle Boakye Agyarko stated.

Concluding his message, Apostle Boakye Agyarko warned that whoever fails to believe that Jesus Christ is the only saviour and surrender to Him risks facing eternal damnation in hell because God’s wrath will abide on them forever.

He used the occasion to invite all to come to Jesus Christ, who gives eternal life freely.

On Wednesday, June 19, Apostle Anthony Mensah of PIWC-Atomic delivered a message on the topic, “Life in Jesus Christ,” based on Mark 10:17 and Hebrews 9:27.

Apostle Mensah revealed that the ancient Greeks classified life as Bios (physical life), Psuche (soulish life), and Zoe, which is eternal life.

According to Apostle Mensah, eternal life has no end, no beginning, and is not created; it is in God only. It is this Zoe life that God gives to all those who come to Him through Jesus, and it is activated as soon as human beings die.

Apostle Mensah intimated that since every man has an appointment with death once in their lifetime to face judgment, it is very expedient for everyone to accept Jesus in order to escape eternal damnation and receive eternal life, which only Jesus gives.

Other speakers scheduled for the crusade include Apostle Joseph Danzerl, Achimota Area Head, and Pastor Yaw Agyenim Boateng, the Agbogba District Pastor and Area Evangelism Ministry Leader.

Also participating in the event are all ministers and their wives in the Haatso Area.

So far, 24 souls have been won, and 12 of them were baptised by immersion on Thursda, June 20.

“Rescuing The Lost” Outreach Yields 30 Souls

Thirty souls were won during the “Rescuing the Lost” evangelism outreach organised by the Love Worship Centre in the Odorkor Area of The Church of Pentecost in collaboration with the Gomoa Kyiren District of the Church.

The event also saw 11 persons undergoing baptism by immersion, and over 50 believers rededicating their lives to Christ.

The outreach took place from Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26, 2024, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Ebenezer Tetteh Kpalam, the Resident Minister of Love Worship Centre, and Overseer Daniel Adu (Gomoa Kyiren District Minister). The event was held under the theme “A People of God Unleashed to Save the Lost” (Luke 15:4-8, Mark 1:35-38, Ezekiel 37:1-10).

Before the outreach, a four-day retreat and prayer session was organised from May 20 to 23, 2024, to prepare and equip members through prayers and teaching sessions.

The participants left Odorkor for the Gomoa Kyiren District on Friday, May 24, 2024, energized by the Holy Spirit to preach and win souls for Christ. Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by Overseer Daniel Adu and the District Executive Committee members.

Pastor Dr. Ebenezer Tetteh Kpalam encouraged the team not to be afraid because the Lord was with them and would use them to perform miracles and win souls for Christ.

The participants, divided into their respective zones, engaged in various activities such as fasting and prayers, morning devotions, dawn broadcasting, house-to-house evangelism, evening services with the local assemblies, and rallies.

God manifested Himself mightily during these activities. A young man named Isaac, who had been suffering from a mental and spiritual attack for some months, received stability after intensive prayer and gave his life to Christ.

Additionally, after a morning dawn broadcast in the community information centre, a woman named Lydia Arthur, who had been sick and unable to walk for two years, was miraculously healed after intensive prayer. She walked without any assistance to the glory of God, participated in the Sunday service, gave her life to Christ, and was baptized.

On Sunday, May 26, 2024, during the closing session, the Evangelism Ministry Leader, on behalf of the Evangelism team, expressed gratitude to the District Minister, Overseer Daniel Adu, his wife Mrs. Lydia Adu, the district executive, and the entire membership for their hospitality and support during the outreach.

In total, 13 members participated in the evangelism outreach.

We Urgently Need A Wave Of The Spirit In Our Time – Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin Calls web

We Urgently Need A Wave Of The Spirit In Our Time – Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin Calls

‘If there is ever a season and time when the nations and churches need a wave of the Spirit, it is today. There is an urgent need for revival and restoration in our churches now. There is urgency now in the nations of the world, and the Church of Christ for a restoration of all the things of old.’

This clarion call was made by the Evangelism Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, during a presentation on ‘The Waves of the Spirit’ at the maiden Pentecost 2024 Conference held at the Rudolf Weber Arena, Oberhausen, Germany, from May 15-18, 2024.

Referring to several scriptures to back his call, including Luke 24: 49; Psalm 32: 8; Job 32: 8, Proverbs 20:27, Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin, who is also an Executive Council Member of the church, indicated that the time has come for the Spirit of God to move with his power to turn the world back into righteousness and the fear of God.

He observed that the nations of the world have become so secularized that godliness does not matter to them anymore. In nations and lands previously Christian, the mention of God today is a taboo and unknown. Even in places such as Africa, Latin American and Asia where Christianity is thought to be growing, the nature of the average Christian’s life is very superficial, he bemoaned.

He added that in the nations of the West, just as those in Africa including Ghana today, which is thought to be predominately Christian, there is nothing to show for it, since the churches have become places of merchandise, performing artistry, self-aggrandizement, sin and evil and a habitation of anything but God.

‘The Church today suffers because it neglects the Spirit and is not sensitive to him. The Spirit is the custodian or the gate keeper, the helper, and guardian of Church,’ he stated.

He added: ‘The believer in Christ misses his or her direction and guide, because he does not know or recognize the Spirit. The young educated person misses his guide, because he loses his focus on the Spirit but only rely on the articulation and training of the mind.’

Explaining what the wave of the Spirit is, Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin disclosed that it is the periodic intervention of the move of God – the Holy Spirit – upon a generation, nation, community, people or individuals, who seek after God’s Spirit to intervene in their spiritual dryness.

According to him, there is a wave of the Spirit when the Holy Spirit comes to revive, restore, or brings a divine awakening upon a spiritually dead situation or people to make them alive to the consciousness of God.

He pointed out that a wave of the Spirit brings back an awareness of God consciousness as the Spirit revives spiritually dead situations. To the sinner, the Spirit brings an awareness of the existence of God, sin consciousness, and the sinfulness of sin, and repentance. To the already Christian, he brings an alertness and sensitivity of God and his Holy Spirit and desire to please him. He revives the church, God’s people, and bring them to their former position, or condition of first love, which used to exist in them.

‘When the Spirit sends forth his wave there is renaissance. What the churches need today is not articulation of words, but the Spirit. The missionary can only break new grounds and sustain it by the wave of the Spirit. The life of the child of God will flourishes only when he is touched by the Spirit,’ he said.

Also, Maame Grace Owusu, a woman of about 50 years whose children have abandoned her for over 15 years received a conference call from her children a day afterthe team prayed for her.

Madam Angelina Baidoo, a heavily pregnant woman narrated that she woke up in the morning with severe abdominal pains so she decided to visit the hospital, on her way, she saw that service was ongoing and decided to join and visit the hospital afterwards, but a few minutes after she was prayed for, the pain left her.
