Put Jesus At The Centre Of Your Family – Prophet Tetteh Doku Urges Church Leaders

Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku, the New Tafo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost has urged Christians, particularly church leaders, to place Jesus at the core of their families for impact on the broader society.

In a presentation on “Raising Godly Families To Impact the Church and the State,” Prophet Tetteh Doku underscored the need for Christians to prioritise the spiritual growth of their families to cultivate households with Christian values that can contribute to societal betterment.

Emphasising the profound impact of Christian upbringing on society, the New Tafo Area Head contrasted the good legacy of Jonathan Edwards, who prioritised Christian training in his family, with that of Max Jukes, whose family was devoid of such guidance.

“The difference in these two families was caused by Jesus being the central figure,” he pointed out.

The clergyman also highlighed the significance of balancing busy schedules with quality family time as a vital component in nurturing godly families.

In conclusion, Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku, outlined key characteristics of a Christian home, including being a place of worship, love, teaching manners, protection, and governance.

This message was delivered during the New Tafo Area Officers’ Retreat (Apostolisation) on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the M. K. Yeboah Memorial Temple, Krofrom, in the New Tafo Zone.Report by Emmanuel Nana Nsiah

God Has Made Us His Chosen People – Christians Told

The Ashanti-Bekwai Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Fred Tiakor, has informed Christians that God has chosen them to become His special people in the world.

Apostle Fred Tiakor shared this insight during the 2024 Area Officers’ Retreat (Apostolisation) held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, for the Datano Zone at the Manso Nkran Assembly.

Speaking on the topic: “The Church as a People of God,” he explained that Christ Jesus, who is the light of the world (John 1: 4), called and chose us from the kingdom of darkness, sanctified us with His blood, and brought us into His marvellous kingdom of light.

He reiterated that we were once not a people, but now, through Christ Jesus our Lord, we have become God’s chosen people.

Reading Exodus 19:5-6, Apostle Tiakor pointed out that after the fall of man in the garden of Eden, God sought for a people to become His chosen people. He chose Noah, Abraham, and Jacob and made a nation called Israel out of Jacob.

He stated that God chose Israel out of all the nations of the world and made a covenant with her as His treasured possession among all peoples.

He noted that God made Israel a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. He reiterated that the Church is the spiritual Israel in the world—a people called out of the world of darkness to become His holy nation, a kingdom of royal priesthood.

The Ashanti-Bekwai Area Head emphasised that God’s purpose in choosing the church as His people is to make her a shining light to the world. The church bears the power of God and is God’s vessel of transformation.

He stressed that Christians must shine as a light to cause a positive influence in this perverse, dark world. The only hope of the world is the church, the chosen people of God.

Apostle Fred Tiakor concluded by saying that the church, as a people of God, must unleash the tremendous power of God locked up in her to bring about positive transformation in the world.

The 2024 Apostolisation, which started on Monday, 26th February, will end on Friday, 1st March 2024, at three zonal centres. The Apostolisation has Apostle Frederick Kweku Andoh (Area Head-Assin Fosu), Pastor Ben Ofei-Badu (Nungua District), and Apostle Kingsford Kyei Mensah (Rtd.) as guest speakers.

Make Personal Devotion A Lifestyle – Apostle Samuel Osei Asante

Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, the Kaneshie Area Head and Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, has urged Christians to make personal devotion a lifestyle because a weak devotional life hinders one from living a Christ-like life.

Speaking on “Flourishing Life through Personal Devotions” at the Kaneshie Area Officers’ Retreat (Apostolisation) at the Kaneshie Central Assembly auditorium yesterday, Apostle S.O. Asante described a devotional lifestyle as a habit of spending time with the Lord through prayer, Bible reading, studying, and meditating on His Word, leading to a flourishing life.

Apostle S. O Asante portrayed an individual with a devotional lifestyle as consistent, devoted, and dedicated to God. He highlighted that such a lifestyle results in personal transformation.

He clarified that personal devotion goes beyond routine Christian duty; it is a time to deepen one’s knowledge of God through heartfelt interaction with Him.

Emphasising the necessity and benefits of personal devotions, Apostle Asante stated that it is a command from God to be obeyed, a way to express love and commitment to God, and a means to enhance personal relationship with the Lord.

To achieve a flourishing life through personal devotions, he advised Christians to allocate consistent time in a solitary place, set alarms, and not let their feelings dictate their devotion.

Apostle S.O. Asante urged all Christians to adopt the resolution: “No prayer, No Bible No Breakfast, No Business.”

Do Ministry Without Conditions – Apostle Nyamekye Advises Clergy

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has advised ministers of the gospel to do their ministry without any material expectations and reservations.

Drawing from 2 Corinthians 12:15, he likened Apostle Paul’s love for the Corinthians to the unconditional service that should be present in our churches today.

He made this statement on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, during the pastors session of the Winneba Area Officers’ Retreat (Apostolisation) at the Hallelujah Temple, Winneba.

Apostle Nyamekye stated, “Apostle Paul was prepared to be impoverished for the sake of the people, for the sake of Christ. His service was unconditional and without any reservation. This is the kind of commitment we need in our institutional churches today, which unfortunately, is often filled with conditions and reservations.”

He further advised the clergy to do ministry without conditions, emphasizing that ministry is to God, not to the church.

“Watch your friends closely because the kind of friends you have will determine the altitude you will reach. Make sure not to think much about material gains in ministry,” he added.

On the topic of leadership, Apostle Nyamekye referenced Judges 5:2, highlighting that when leaders take charge, people will gladly follow.

He stressed the need for pastors to develop leadership skills and reminded them that their greatest asset is not their members, but their teams.

“Everyone has a potential to be a great leader. As a pastor, your concentration should not always be on preaching. A pastor needs three things to make him effective; skill, attitude, and character,” he explained.

He further elaborated that once one becomes a leader, they need to acquire skills, which is to gain for oneself through one’s actions and efforts. Attitude, he said, is about wisdom.

“A Pastor needs a good attitude towards older women, young women, the elderly men, etc. You need a productive attitude towards annual themes and the things of the church and matters related to the church. Your attitude towards these things must be positive.”

Finally, he warned about the erosion of character, which usually begins with neglect. “The best person is a person who has a pure heart,” he concluded.

Present at the service were Apostle Daniel Nii Tetteh Tackie (Winneba Area Head), Apostle Anthony Mensah (PIWC Atomic) and wife, Nana Aba and a cross-section of the area pastorate.

He shared personal testimonies to affirm that God’s promise to bless all people through Abraham remains valid.

The Fire Of Pentecost Ignited In Adawso

Spontaneous songs of praise echoed through the air, setting the tone for an evening of intense prayer as Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, the International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, graced the Adawso Zone of the church on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, as part of the Koforidua Area Officers Retreat (Apostolisation).

In a spirit-filled sermon, Apostle Agyemang Bekoe ignited the spirit of the gathering, leading them in praise and fervent prayer, creating an atmosphere ripe for divine visitation.

The participants, primarily officers from the four districts within the zone – Adawso, Tinkong, Mangoase, and Kwamoso – were visibly inspired, responding with unrestrained singing, Pentecostal clapping, joyful dancing, and earnest prayers.

The auditorium, also called The Centre of Revival, swelled beyond capacity, with some participants left standing due to the overflow. Despite many having travelled great distances to Adawso, the zeal of the gathering remained undiminished, clamouring for more even as the service, lasting just under two hours, drew to a close.

Addressing the officers, Apostle Agyemang Bekoe articulated the importance of brief yet impactful church services, especially on Sundays, emphasising that it allows members ample time for personal endeavours beyond the church walls.

He stressed that short but inspiring sermons allow the church enough time to engage in intensive prayers.

He encouraged church officers to lead the offering sessions with brief, personal testimonies bolstered by relevant scriptures to inspire members to give generously from the heart.

Accompanied by his wife, the International Missions Director will remain in the Koforidua Area throughout the week for this year’s Apostolisation, hosted by Area Head, Apostle Mike Kwame Etrue. Apostle Seth Dwamena Asante (Nkwanta Area Head), Prophet Benjamin Augustus Adobah (Rtd), and Elder James Yamoah are among the guest speakers.
