Be Bold To Preach the Truth – Apostle Ami-Narh Tells Clergy

The President of The Apostolic Church, Ghana, Apostle Dr. Aaron Nartey Ami-Narh, has charged the clergy to be bold in preaching the unadulterated truth which is the word of God.

Apostle Dr. Ami-Narh noted that a lot of men of God have sold the pulpit to the rich in society due to their selfish and monetary gains.

“Money has become a god of mammon in our churches, where rich persons are respected by church leaders than poor members. Some people do not deserve to preach on your pulpit; do not let money deceive you into handing over your pulpit to them,” he said.

He admonished church leaders to eschew selling the truth to the wealthy persons in society, but rather tell them the truth.

He said this on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, during the All Ministers’ Conference at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), in Gomoa-Fetteh, near Kasoa.

Delivering a presentation on the topic, “The Church Making Impact as Salt and Light in the World,” the President of The Apostolic Church, Ghana, describing the purpose of salt and light, said that the nature of a thing is what determines how it behaves and what it can be used to do.

“That is why salt is salt and light is light. Salt cannot be light and light cannot be salt,” he said, stressing that for Christians to be able to perform a particular function of being salt and light, they must have the nature of salt and the nature of light.

Apostle Dr. Ami-Narh was worried that though believers have the needed knowledge about Christ, they are not making the needed impact because they have refused to pay the price.

On the reasons why Christians make a poor impact as salt and light of the world, he explained that repentance is what gives us the nature to be salt and light, however, this is missing in this generation.

Quoting from Acts 20:20-21, Apostle Dr. Ami-Narh iterated that Apostle Paul’s preaching was into two statements, which are repentance towards God and faith towards Jesus Christ.

He further hinted that the average church member today is very self-centered. This, he said, is the reason why God wants us to be the light because the average person in church is there to use God to get what he or she wants, and not there to worship God for who He is.

He added: “For one to repent, one must be convicted. The type of message that the Holy Spirit needs to convict people is missing from the pulpit. Without the preaching of Nathan, one could not know the extent to which King David would have stayed not convicted.

The National Executive Member of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) admonished Christian leaders to help their members to examine what is in the heart because of the desperation of wickedness within.

Pastors Must Have Their Integrity Intact – Apostle Kumi-Larbi

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has asserted that Christians who have their integrity intact are fit for purpose and are in a better position to turn things around in the nation.

Speaking at the ongoing All Ministers’ Conference at the Pentecost Convention Centre on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, on the topic: “Righteousness: The Authority of the Kingdom” –Romans 14:17; Proverbs 14:34; Hebrews 1:8-9; Ephesians 4:24, among other scriptures, Apostle Kumi-Larbi noted that though ministers of the gospel have been ordained to perform certain duties, they can make real impact only when they become blameless and men and women of integrity.

He posited that Ghana does not need too many ministers of the gospel but people of integrity.

He charged believers, especially the clergy to be men and women of unquestionable characters, whose integrity can be vouched for by everyone.

According to him, righteousness empowers leaders to properly assert their authority since they have clear conscience to undertake whatever they do.

For him, Christians have become little Jesuses because the finished work of Christ has imputed His righteousness on them.

“Let no one belittle you, stand as a giant because you have been set aside for God’s work,” he stated.

He added: “Essentially, by this finished work of Christ, we have been imputed with God’s righteousness and have been empowered to live a life of righteousness in attitude, words and deeds.”

Apostle Kumi-Larbi indicated that righteousness is what distinguishes Christians from the people of the world and that it is expected of every believer to lead lives that conform to God’s will.

He stressed that the primary reason why Jesus came to earth to die on the Cross was to make it possible for humanity to be restored to God’s righteous standards. The General Secretary noted that in the kingdom of God, the scepter, emblem, totem or symbol of authority is righteousness, saying, “That is why we the people of the Kingdom must love righteousness and hate evil.”

The Salvation Of God Is For All Nations – Apostle Nyamekye

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has stated that the salvation of God is prepared for all nations across the world.

According to the Chairman, when God told Abraham that all nations on earth would be blessed because of him, it was the beginning of the propagation of the gospel, saying, “The gospel is the death of Christ, his burial and his resurrection.”

Apostle Nyamekye made this declaration on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the maiden All Ministers’ Conference 2022, being held at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa.

Speaking on the topic, “The Purpose of The Church: The Jewish Root of Christianity,” Apostle Eric Nyamekye said that God strategically chose the Israelites to reveal Himself through them to the nations.

“Every Israelite male or female has a stake in the kingdom of God,” the Chairman stated, adding that, everyone of them was an agent and priest of God who stood between Him and the people and taught the laws of God to their children.

He said that since God made the Jewish a people of God, a holy nation with the greatest of all, He instructed them to abstain from the pollution of the world.

“Let us follow the pattern in whatever we do and apply them in achieving the purpose of the church,” he charged.

Reading from Deuteronomy 6:1 and 7:1, Apostle Nyamekye disclosed that God deliberately pushed the Israelites into the world to possess and influence the lands, saying, “They were spread widely to disseminate the knowledge that God is one, that people who put their trust in Him will be blessed.”

He then admonished church leaders to be the salt and light of the world in order to heal the land of its corruptible behaviour. He disclosed that the core motive behind God making believers the salt of the earth is to heal the land from all evil.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye further said that the agenda of Jesus Christ was not to save a few people but to build His church and to establish a community for God, while admonishing the clergy to develop the gifts imputed in them having been created to be like God.

God Is Not Enthused About Denominational Differences – Apostle Eric Nyamekye Observes

“I don’t think God is terribly enthused about denominational distinctions. Varying denominations may be helpful because human beings differ, and some may prefer a particular style and mode of worship.”

These were the words of Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and Convenor of the first All Ministers’ Conference (non-denominational conference).

Opening the conference on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region, Apostle Nyamekye posited that no one particular denomination has the truth and that the truth is in Christ, who is the truth.

“What we hold are truths about the Truth [Christ]. We need then to pool our truths so that the sum total of our truth will nearly approximate the Truth. With this understanding, let us humbly open up to the Holy Spirit to receive from Him,” he said.

Touching on the theme for the conference, “Rediscovering and Fulfilling the Purpose of the Church” – Ephesians 3:10, Titus 2:13-14, he indicated that the conference’s purpose was to help bring to the fore the understanding of the dual purpose or the dual identity of the Church.

According to him, the Church is called out of the world to belong to God and sent back to the world to witness and to serve His purpose among the nations, saying, “If the Church is able to rediscover its identity as originally given by God in the scriptures and made alive and relevant by the Spirit of God, we could be in the most exciting times in the history of the Church.”

He added: “Everything depends on our ability to understand the Church as it ought to be, our willingness to change where necessary, and above all our determination to keep our lives continually opened to spiritual freshness.”

Explaining the rationale for organising the conference, Apostle Nyamekye pointed out that during a mid-year Executive Council meeting in August 2021, the Lord laid it on the hearts of the executives to organise a conference to share fellowship with all ministers in Ghana.

The vision, he said, was unanimously endorsed by the heads of The Church of Pentecost and subsequently by the General Council, which culminated in his visit to other colleague heads of churches who wholeheartedly accepted it and pledged their unflinching support and participation in the conference.

“And today to the glory of God, the vision the Lord laid on our heart has become a reality,” he said.

He continued: “What a pleasant and beautiful sight to behold, to see the Lord’s army, gathered in one place, not bound by denominational barriers nor separated by doctrine but united in love,” he stressed.

Speakers for the conference include Apostle Eric Nyamekye (Chairman, CoP), Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah (Rtd), immediate past Chairman of CoP and former President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso (President of the GPCC and immediate past General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana), Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong (former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana), and Apostle Dr. Ami-Narh (President of The Apostle Church).

Duodu, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (General Secretary, CoP), Dr. Joyce Aryee (CEO, Salt and Light Ministry), and Mr.  Samuel Attah-Mensah (General Manager of Citi FM).

The Kasoa Area of The Church of Pentecost has launched the Young Evangelist initiative to boost its evangelism drive and reach out to all people with the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

The Young Evangelist, the brainchild of the Area Head, Apostle James Kwabena Asare, seeks to equip young men and women in the evangelism drive of the Church.

Speaking at the launch of the program, Apostle Asare reiterated that the Church exist to evangelise and, therefore, the need to equip the Church with the skills and tools for effective evangelism.

He also said that the Young Evangelist initiative would help the Church prepare the young ones to take their place in the body of Christ in a responsible way.

He then charged the first group of “young evangelists” to go out and preach the gospel of Christ and win many souls for Christ.

The Kasoa Area Head revealed that the district and the individuals who record the highest souls won and baptised would be rewarded by the area.

One-Soul-One T-Shirt project, another initiative introduced by the area to whip up the interest in evangelism among members, was also launched at the event.

Pastor Daniel Kobina Bentum, the Area Evangelism Ministry Leader, in an interview with PENTECOST NEWS, said, “to miss the great commission is a great omission” and, therefore, called on the youth to avail themselves to be trained as young evangelists to saturate Kasoa and its environs with the good news of Christ.

The Takoradi Area of The Church of Pentecost organised a special service at A. T. Nartey Memorial Temple, Takoradi on Sunday, September 4, 2022, to officially welcome the new Area Head, Apostle Semanya Yao Dogbe, and his family.

Apostle Dogbe, who was transferred from DR Congo as National Head, replaces Apostle Joseph Kwame Assabil, who recently retired from active ministerial service after serving faithfully for 24 years.

Apostle Dr. Onyinah Gyamfi (Bogoso Area Head) officiated the service and was assisted by Apostle Robert Kwabena Andoh (Essam Dabiso Area Head).

Speaking on the topic, “Welcome Him with Christian Love and Joy,” with scripture reference from Philippians 2:25-30, Apostle Dr. Gyamfi admonished Christians to endeavour to support the work of ministry.

He revealed that Epaphroditus exhibited a high form of quality service and support to the ministry of Apostle Paul, as a result, Paul introduced him as a fellow worker, a fellow soldier and a Christian brother and a faithful servant in his writing to the Ephesians.

“Beloved, Apostle Dogbe has become our ‘Epaphroditus,’ and we need to support and assist him spiritually and physically to excel in his ministry,” he said.

The Bogoso Area Head further urged Christians to be of the same mind as they support the work of ministry.

He urged members of the Takoradi Area to accept Apostle Dogbe as a gift from God to them in the realisation of the Great Commission and the “Possessing the Nations” agenda.
