The Winneba Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Otu-Appiah, has urged the clergy and their wives to be faithful to God, the Church and the members in order to make maximum impact in the nations.

According to the Winneba Area Head, many people in the Church spend more energy in castigating the Church, ministers, and leadership instead of directing it into positive activities, admonishing, “Do not pass your bitterness unto the members.”

The Winneba Area Head said this on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, during the Ministers’ and Wives session of the 2023 Sekondi Area Ministers & Officers Retreat (Apostolisation) at the Ketan Central Assembly church auditorium in Sekondi.

Speaking on the topic, “Be Faithful For Maximum Impact,” with Matthew 25:14ff as key Bible reference, Apostle Samuel Otu-Appiah explained that talents were given to three servants by a master who expected them to work and be faithful with what he had entrusted them.

He, however, noted that two of the servants worked diligently while the other hid his abilities because of the negative mentality he had concerning the master.

Apostle Otu-Appiah said that the servants who received more talents knew their master, his strengths and what he required of them, but the servant with the least talent looked at the other side and could not give a good assessment of his master.

He defined being faithful as remaining loyal and steadfast, true to the fact and being original to whatever one is asked to do by his or her master.

“Whatever you have been given, work at it with all your ability, for this would be the basis of judgement when Christ comes,” he stated.

Explaining the characteristics of faithfulness, the Winneba Area Head indicated that a person who is faithful has a good knowledge of his master; sees what they have now as an opportunity to work to glorify his master; works hard, and trusts God for a reward not man.

“Our destinies are linked to the places we go and the people we meet daily, so always be positive even as you work hard,” he said,

Apostle Otu-Appiah, therefore, charged the ministers and wives to encourage their members to live lives worthy of their calling while ensuring that they put in the required efforts to ensure great success.

“We are saved by grace, but rewards in heaven will be given according to works. So let us finish our work in excellence and trust that God will definitely reward us,” he noted.

Apostle Otu-Appiah also advised the clergy to focus on the strengths of their colleague ministers, and officers and help them with their weaknesses without judging one another.

The Nsawam Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated food and other sanitary items to inmates of the recently-commissioned Nsawam Camp Prison.

The donation was made yesterday by a Church delegation led by the Nsawam Area Head, Apostle Francis Yaw Adu, at a short presentation ceremony at the facility premises.

Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, the Prison Chaplain, Pastor ASP Thomas Owusu Brefo, thanked the Nsawam Area for the kind gesture. 

He also called on other areas, districts and local assemblies of the Church as well as other corporate groups and individuals to come to their aid as they seek to reform and rehabilitate the inmates.

Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, the Head of Ministerial Formation at the Pentecost School of Theology and Mission of the Pentecost University (PU), has touted the overwhelming endorsement PU has earned across all the spectra of society and advised staff and members of The Church of Pentecost to cherish and contribute to enhancing the university’s widely respected brand.

Apostle Dr. Tsekpoe made these remarks when he addressed staff at the university’s first Management and Staff retreat for 2023.

With an emphasis on the elements of branding, Dr. Tsekpoe said many elements contribute to the brand distinctiveness of PU. He cited strong corporate leadership, calibre of staff members, strategic publicity, infographics and close association with The Church of Pentecost as some of the elements that give the PU brand overwhelming respect.

“This brand image has contributed to the increasing enrollment of students in recent years,” he added.

Before Apostle Tsekpoe’s presentation, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, in the opening address, asked staff to be grateful to God for His goodness towards the university as a corporate body and the individual staff members.

The Vice-Chancellor stressed that gratitude is a sign of maturity and therefore charged the staff to cultivate hearts of gratitude to God, the University and others.

The Management and Staff retreat is a critical item on the University’s calendar aimed at re-energising staff and strategising towards the realisation of PU’s “University A+ agenda” of Godliness, research intensiveness, ethics and academic distinctiveness.

The New Tafo District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor George Prah Amonoo, has asserted that the Lord Jesus Christ is still preoccupied with transforming lives of humankind for good.

According to him, Jesus, during His earthly sojourn, went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, and He is still doing good (Acts 10:38) in this dispensation.

Pastor Prah Amonoo said this in a sermon he preached titled: “Oh! God, Restore My Right Hand,” during the New Tafo Area Monthly Prayer Meeting on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the Sepe-Buokrom Revival Centre.

Using the story of the man with a withered hand in Luke 6:6-11, the New Tafo District Minister noted that the writer was specific about the hand of the man that was shriveled, which was the right hand.  

According to him, the right hand signifies “power, authority and dignity” (Exodus 15:12; Psalm 16:11; Isaiah 62:8-9; Matthew 26:63-64). 

Pastor George Prah Amonoo further explained that Jesus could have spoken to restore the man’s hand forthwith, but He first asked the man to get up and stand before healing him. This, he noted, implies that Christians have to stand in anticipation of miracles in their lives. He, therefore, urged the congregants to always get up and stand in pursuit of restoration (Ephesians 6:10-13).

“Inasmuch as we expect Jesus to restore our right hand, which could be our businesses, finances, health, marriages, etc, we must first get up. We have to rise in prayer, fasting, love, tithing, offering, commitment and dedication towards God’s work,” he stressed, adding, “As we rise, the Lord will even restore the economic fortunes of our dear nation.”

In attendance were Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku (New Tafo Area Head), Mrs. Victoria Tetteh Doku (Wife of the Area Head), the Area pastorate and their spouses.

Pentecost University (PU) has ended a three-day retreat for management and staff of the university.

The event, which took place on the university’s main campus in Sowutuom, Accra, is the first to be held this year.

The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University, Apostle Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, who delivered the welcome address, said the main reason for retreat was for the staff body to show gratitude to God and rededicate themselves to the cause of making PU the university of choice in the year 2023.

The VC commended them for their commitment in 2022 and urged them to do more this year.

On his part, the Head of Ministerial Formation at the Pentecost School of Theology and Mission, Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, said PU has become a solid brand that ought to be cherished. 

Dr. Tsekpoe, whose presentation was on the “PU Brand,” further pointed out the tangible and intangible aspects of the brand that make it stand.

He attributed the brand resoluteness to factors such as good governance, determined staff, symbols that people want to associate with, and the goodwill of The Church of Pentecost.

“The PU brand commands respect in many places, which can be linked directly to the leadership, reputation of staff, strong publicity, among others,” he said.

Apostle Dr. Tsekpoe, therefore, challenged the staff to cherish the university’s brand and work hard to enhance it.

The Management and Staff Retreat is an important event on the Pentecost University calendar aimed at reinvigorating PU staff for maximum impact through intensive prayer session and workshops as well as strategising towards the realisation of PU’s “University A+” agenda.

Mr Kwabena Mantey, a co-host and anchor of Asembi Morning Show on Pent TV, a Christian television station fully owned by The Church of Pentecost, has been crowned the ‘Media Personality of the Year’ at the 3^rd Edition of the Face of Ghana Youth Awards, held at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

The morning show host in December last year bagged the ‘Best Christian Television Presenter’ award at the Praise Achievements Awards and the ‘Best Male Newscaster’ at the Jupiter Journalist Awards 2022.

In an interview, Mr Mantey expressed his extreme appreciation to his family and the management of Pent TV, saying, “I am happy and grateful to God for beginning this year with this special award.

He added that winning such an award and leveraging the effect it has on the youth, helps endorse his works.

According to the organizers, the awards formed part of the company’s interventions to extend credibility and support to hardworking individuals, students and groups.

“Hardworking youths who are making meaningful impacts on Ghana’s economic growth will be supported,” they said.

The Face of Ghana Youth Awards, an initiative of Glint Africa to recognize, reward, and celebrate hardworking youth in various spheres of work in Ghana.

A deaconess of The Church of Pentecost, Mercy Twenewaa, has donated a set of musical instruments worth GH¢69,350.00 to the North Asuakwaa Assembly in the New Dormaa District of the Sunyani Area of the Church.

Presenting the set of instruments to the church, Deaconess Twenewaa disclosed that she had a dream and conviction that her name was boldly written on a set of instruments that were being used for a crusade.

This, she noted, contributed to the generous gesture to advance the kingdom of God.

Receiving the items, the New Dormaa District Minister of the Church, Pastor Michael Osei Appau, expressed his sincere gratitude to Deaconess Twenewaa for her thoughtfulness and urgent response to the dream she had. He stated that the items will be very beneficial to the church.
