Joyous Celebration As 97 Couples Wed In Historic Mass Ceremony At Yendi

Joy overflowed in the Yendi Area of The Church of Pentecost on Saturday, September 27, 2025, as 97 couples exchanged vows in a spectacular mass wedding ceremony at the Yendi Central Auditorium. The event, hailed as both historic and spiritually uplifting, underscored the church’s enduring commitment to promoting godly marriages and nurturing strong Christian families.

The ceremony was officiated by the Yendi Area Head, Apostle James K. Magyam, whose fatherly counsel and spiritual leadership guided the couples through the solemn occasion. It attracted several ministers from across the Northern Region, including Pastor Hayford Nsiah Yatimboh, Salaga Area Head.

In total, 642 individuals, including ministers, family members, friends, and church members—filled the auditorium to witness the sacred unions. The atmosphere was charged with worship, celebration, and joy as the couples exchanged vows before God and His Church. Following the blessing, attendees were treated to a generous feast provided by the church, fostering an atmosphere of warmth and fellowship.

The event also featured a photo session, allowing the newlyweds to capture lasting memories of their special day. The initiative by the Yendi Area leadership to host a mass wedding was widely praised for alleviating the financial burdens often associated with traditional ceremonies, enabling members to enter marriage with dignity and joy.

Apostle Magyam commended the couples for their obedience and commitment, urging them to build their homes on the foundation of Christ. According to him, “marriage is not only a union between a man and a woman but also a sacred covenant before God.”

The day concluded with songs of praise and thanksgiving, as families and friends celebrated the milestone. The 2025 Yendi Area Mass Wedding will be remembered not only as a day of union but also as a powerful expression of faith, love, and unity within the body of Christ.

He was accompanied by the National Coordinator of The Other Sheep Ministry (TSOM), Evangelist Abraham Addae Agyemang.

The Church of Pentecost Donates Life Jackets to Students Who Cross Volta Lake to Attend School

The Church of Pentecost’s Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM), in collaboration with the Teshie-Nungua Area of the church, has taken a bold step to improve safety and access to education by donating life jackets to students in Keta-Krachi of the Oti Region. The students face a daily challenge of crossing the Volta Lake to attend school, often without protective gear.

The donation ceremony, held on Friday, September 26, 2025, brought together church leaders, local authorities, traditional rulers, and community members to celebrate a significant step forward in ensuring that education does not come at the cost of children’s lives.

Pastor Frank Mensah Tandoh, National Coordinator of the Schools Outreach Ministry, explained that the idea was sparked by growing concern over the safety of students who spend up to three hours crossing the lake each day.

“We believe no child should risk their life just to get to school. These life jackets are a symbol of our commitment to protecting our children while promoting education,” he said.

The Kete-Krachi Area Head of the church, Pastor Charles Kwaku Ofosu, expressed gratitude to SOM for identifying the pressing need and responding swiftly, saying, “This is what ministry is all about – meeting people where they are and addressing real needs with practical love.”

The Queen Mother of Adoten, Nana Bakrife Eyerealeso II, commended the church’s initiative, describing it as timely and thoughtful.

“This donation brings hope to our community. Our children can now go to school with greater peace of mind, and parents can rest a little easier,” she said.

The Municipal Chief Executive Officer for Krachi West, Hon. Prosper Addo, also welcomed the intervention, revealing that the Assembly is finalising plans to build a boarding facility for students living across the lake.

“This intervention by The Church of Pentecost is a valuable complement to the district’s long-term strategy to improve access to education in island and lakeside communities,” he stressed.

The students and their parents welcomed the donation with joy and relief, describing the life jackets as a lifeline for children determined to pursue education despite geographical barriers.

This gesture from the church adds to a growing wave of community-led solutions aiming to close the education and safety gap in Ghana’s most underserved areas.

HUM Hosts Maiden Ministers’ And Wives’ Retreat At PCC

A fresh wind of divine purpose and power swept through the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, during the maiden Home and Urban Missions (HUM) Ministers and Wives’ Retreat, held from September 17-19, 2025.

Preaching at the retreat, which was held on the theme, “The Drive of the Anointing” (Luke 4:18–19), the HUM National Coordinator, Pastor Benjamin Ofei-Badu, drew deeply from Luke 4:18, emphasising that when the Holy Spirit rests upon an individual, they are divinely driven to specific people in specific places for release, restoration, recovery, and deliverance. He explained that just as Jesus was drawn to the poor, the blind, the oppressed, and the imprisoned, believers today must follow the same divine path set by the anointing.

Pastor Ofei-Badu further underscored HUM’s role in God’s end-time agenda, declaring it central to the Church’s mission. Drawing lessons from biblical figures such as Samson, Elijah, and Jesus, he reminded participants that the anointing empowers believers for supernatural impact.

“The anointing consumes our weaknesses, gives clarity, releases God’s provision, and dispels excuses,” he declared, urging ministers and their wives to yield fully to the Spirit. He also honoured Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of the church, for unveiling Vision 2028, describing it as a divine roadmap for the times.

Adding depth to the retreat, Mrs Abigail Ofei-Badu, wife of the HUM Coordinator, challenged ministers’ wives to deepen their walk with God.

“Have you been with God?” she asked, stressing the importance of personal encounters and understanding God’s ways in fulfilling the divine mandate.

Pastor Gabriel Owusu Akyaw, a member of the HUM National Executive Committee and HUM Pastor for the Kumasi Sector, also exhorted participants to remain faithful to their unique callings, reinforcing the retreat’s message of surrender, compassion, and purpose.

The programme featured a presentation on addiction and substance use by representatives from NACOC, alongside HUM business deliberations. Times of fervent prayer punctuated the retreat, making it both impactful and Spirit-led.

The PENSA Travelling Secretary for the Madina Sector, Pastor Gabriel Nti, has reaffirmed the absolute authority and sufficiency of Scripture, declaring, “The Bible is authoritative, inerrant, and sufficient.”

Speaking at the opening session of the PENSA Ghana Leaders’ Retreat on Friday, September 19, 2025, he delivered a compelling exposition on the nature, structure, and relevance of God’s Word.

In a presentation rich in theological insight and practical wisdom, Pastor Nti emphasised the Bible’s divine origin, explaining that although it was written by over 40 authors across 1,400 years, it conveys a unified message inspired by the Holy Spirit.

“Scripture is not merely historical, it is alive and powerful,” he asserted, stressing that it is capable of shaping character, resisting sin, and guiding believers in truth.

Keta PENSA-NMTC Brings Relief To Community With Bus Shelter Project

In a commendable demonstration of youth-led transformation under the “Possessing the Nations” agenda of The Church of Pentecost, the Keta Nursing and Midwifery Training College (NMTC) branch of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) has constructed a bus shelter for the Keta community.

The facility was officially commissioned on September 13, 2025, by Apostle Benjamin Aboagye, Aflao Area Head of The Church of Pentecost.

Speaking at the dedication ceremony, Apostle Aboagye lauded the students for their vision, sacrifice, and commitment to societal development.

“This is a reflection of Kingdom values in action,” he remarked, highlighting how the Church’s transformational agenda is being tangibly realised through such initiatives.

The project, valued at GH¢8,700.00, was jointly funded by Keta PENSA-NMTC and the Aflao Area of the Church. Outgoing PENSA President, Ms Stella Ativui, noted that although their resources were limited, their determination to serve the community remained steadfast.

“We wanted to leave a mark, not merely in words, but through action,” she said.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including Mrs Rebecca Aboagye (wife of the Area Head), Pastor Vitalis Dogoli (PENSA Travelling Secretary for the Lower Volta Sector), members of the Aflao Area Pastorate, PENSA leadership, students, and members of the local community.

This modest yet impactful initiative not only offers practical relief to commuters but also stands as a testament to how young people within the Church can serve as agents of godly influence in society. It is yet another affirmation that when empowered with vision and rooted in Christ, the Church’s youth can shape their world to the glory of God.

Ho Area Head Ignites “Fire On The Family Altar” During Visit To Abutia District

The Abutia District of The Church of Pentecost witnessed a great spiritual awakening on Sunday, September 21, 2025, as Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, the newly appointed Ho Area Head of the church, and his wife, Mrs Agatha Kwafo, undertook their maiden visit to the district.

Preaching on the theme, “Fire on the Family Altar,” Apostle Kwafo drew inspiration from key scriptures including Leviticus 6:13, Isaiah 6:5-7, Judges 16:17, Mark 1:35, and Luke 22:39-40. With fervour and conviction, he urged the congregation to rekindle and maintain consistent family devotion.

Sharing personal testimonies, Apostle Kwafo emphasised the transformative power of family prayer, attributing his own spiritual foundation to the devotions led by his mother.

“Keep the fire burning continually on the altar,” he declared, encouraging families to regard their homes as mission fields. “Fathers are the pastors in the home, and mothers are the assistant pastors,” he added, highlighting the shared spiritual responsibility within the household.

He exhorted the church to carry the fire beyond the four walls of the chapel, impacting homes, marketplaces, farms, and communities. He urged ministers to “visit members’ farms and pray for them, promoting a holistic model of ministry and pastoral care. He also stirred the hearts of the youth, encouraging them to pray for their unbelieving parents and to persist in witnessing to them until salvation is attained.

Apostle Kwafo further noted that nation-building is rooted in worship, stating, “Great nations have been constructed by worshippers of God.”

Addressing parents, he offered a sobering reminder: “Whatever you are unable to practise, you cannot instil in your children,” urging them to lead by example in prayer, fasting, and holy living.

The service concluded with fervent intercessory prayers for church leaders and officers, as Apostle Kwafo encouraged them to strengthen their support for the Abutia District and the broader vision of the Church.

Following the service, Apostle and Mrs Kwafo visited the homes of several members, offering words of encouragement and fellowship. The visit ended with a serene tour of a nearby mountain en route to one of the district’s local assemblies – an experience that blended spiritual reflection with refreshing communion.

The visit left an indelible mark on the district, reigniting passion for family altars and reaffirming the Church’s commitment to nurturing both spiritual and communal life.

Bolga Pentecost Hospital Staff Charged To Serve With Excellence web

Bolgatanga Pentecost Hospital Staff Urged To Serve With Excellence

Staff of the newly established Pentecost Hospital in Bolgatanga have been urged to uphold Christian values, pursue excellence, and align their service with the Church’s ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda.

This call was made during a one-day orientation held on September 16, 2025, organised by Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS).

The session brought together key church leaders and professionals, including the Director of PENTSOS, Pastor Benjamin Asare Yeboah; Bolgatanga Area Head, Apostle David Amankwaa; Dr Kwame Adjei Amoafo, Head of the hospital, and other dignitaries.

Delivering the keynote address, Apostle Amankwaa encouraged staff to “eschew mediocrity and pursue excellence in all aspects of service,” referencing Hebrews 11 and Philippians 4:8. He remarked, “Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice than Cain,” and emphasised that excellence is “not perfection, nor genetic, but the courage to be different” (Numbers 14:24).

He outlined four pillars of excellence: Desire, Discipline, Dedication, and Determination.

Speaking on Christian stewardship, Apostle Amankwaa noted that the Christian life is “value-driven” and “principle-based,” stressing that faithfulness is essential in any position of responsibility.

Apostle Amankwaa described Pentecost Hospital, Bolga, as a model of “pro-poor, compassionate, and efficient Christian healthcare,” and encouraged the team to stand out in a region where quality care is urgently needed.

The PENTSOS Director, Pastor Benjamin Asare Yeboah, reminded staff that Pentecost Hospital is, first and foremost, a missions hospital, and that everything they do must ultimately serve Christ and the Church’s mission.

He advised them to see their daily duties as ministry, calling for a spirit of sacrifice and a commitment to high standards.

Dr Phoebe Ohene Kwatia, a medical practitioner at the facility, outlined the hospital’s scope of services, which align with district-level healthcare delivery. She emphasised patient-centred care, clinical ethics—autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice—and adherence to best practices through guidelines, audits, and continuous learning.

PENTSOS Human Resource Officer, Mr Emmanuel Aziieku, spoke on workplace ethics, encouraging professionalism, loyalty, and non-discrimination, while Elder Joseph Apuseyune highlighted the importance of cultural sensitivity, noting that it fosters trust and enhances community impact.

The Bolgatanga Area PENTSOS Coordinator, Overseer Benjamin Owusu Ansah, traced PENTSOS’ 46-year development legacy and reaffirmed that although the hospital operates under the Ministry of Health and CHAG, it remains a PENTSOS trust institution. He urged staff to embody the core values of love, dignity, and efficiency.

The orientation ended with a renewed commitment from staff to serve with distinction.
