The Berekum Area of The Church of Pentecost has commissioned a group of young vibrant men and women of the church to undertake vigorous evangelism activities in the Area.

The team was launched by the Area Head, Apostle Samuel Berko, during an All-Night Service organised for Presiding Elders/Leaders in the Area.

‘Go Ye Team’ is made up of members of the Evangelism and the Youth ministries. It is part of the strategies for fulfilling the “Possessing the Nations” agenda of the church.

They have been tasked to carry out radical evangelism at various levels in the church to snatch lost souls from hellfire into the kingdom of God.

In a sermon titled, “The Power of the Gospel,” Apostle Berko bemoaned that a lot of souls are suffering and perishing. Nevertheless, he said, one thing that can liberate them is the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of humankind.

Reading from Mark 16:15-22; 1 Corinthians 2:4 and 1 John 3:5, he revealed that the believer has been given the power to preach the gospel which has the power to deliver, heal, transform and empower unto every profitable work.

“If you want the church to grow, preach the gospel; if you want to see tangible miracles, preach the gospel; if you want to destroy the works of the powers of darkness, preach the gospel,” he said, adding, “The gospel makes a great impact.”

Apostle Berko stated that it is not enough to be praying for souls to be converted, but rather reach out to them and preach the gospel to them. He encouraged the presiding elders and the “Go Ye Team” to shift attention to personal evangelism which, he said, is more effective than gospel rallies.

He admonished the congregation to be zealous in preaching the gospel relentlessly until the whole Area is captured for Christ.

The Area Evangelism Leader, Pastor Jeremiah Pappoe, took participants through practical ways of personal evangelism.

About 450 young people were commissioned to preach the gospel wherever they will find themselves.

The service was attended by ministers of the Area.
