The outgoing Buokrom Estate District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Emmanuel Yaw Akwaboah, has advised Christians, particularly church leaders to model their lives, behaviours, attitudes, and values after that of Christ Jesus.

Pastor Yaw Akwaboah shared this advice during the 2024 Mid-Year Presbytery Meeting organised by the New Tafo Area on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the M. K. Yeboah Memorial Temple.

Speaking on the topic: “Unleashed To Be Like Christ To Transform Your World,” based on Romans 8:29-30, the clergyman emphasised that God’s people always stand out and take on the responsibility of reflecting Christ’s image. He explained that as individuals who are born of God, Christians are called to exemplify the character of God, just as Christ Jesus did during His time on earth.

Jesus’ life was a life of godly character; therefore, we should strive to be like Him in all realms of life,” he stated, quoting Luke 23:22.

Pastor Yaw Akwaboah underscored that Jesus exhibited qualities such as compassion, patience, humility (Matthew 11:29), obedience, purity, faithfulness, all while reaching out to sinners through the preaching of the Gospel, urging Christians to embody these traits in their efforts to transform their world.

He also encouraged the presbyters to mentor new converts and help them grow in the faith.

Highlighting the virtue of humility, the Buokrom Estate District Minister pointed out that God opposes the proud but offers grace to the humble, citing James 4:10 and illustrating this with the story of Jesus, who has been exalted and given a name above all names for His humility. He warned against the dangers of pride, asserting, “Your pride is your soon-to-come destruction.”

He stressed the need for Christians to rely solely on the Holy Spirit for strength to conform to the image of Christ at all times.

Pastor Emmanuel Yaw Akwaboah and family are scheduled to be farewelled on Sunday, August 11, 2024, as they proceed on transfer to Asonkore District in the Obuasi Area.

Among those present at the meeting were Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku and his wife, Mama Victoria (New Tafo Area Head), the Area pastorate and their spouses.
