The Central Assembly of Atakora District of The Church of Pentecost in the Afram Plains Area has donated assorted food items to the Donkorkrom Orphanage.

The items, valued at GH¢600.00, included toilet rolls, bags of sachet water, rice, biscuits, maize, bread, provisions, crates of egg, among others.

Making the presentation at the forecourt of the Orphanage on June 28, 2020, the Presiding Elder, Eric Mensah, said: “The gesture is to put smiles on the faces of the inmates, particularly during this COVID-19 pandemic. The children at this orphanage deserve our love and care.”

The caretaker of the orphanage, Ms. Erica Konyako, who received the items on behalf of the Home, thanked the church for the gesture, saying that the items would help to relieve the plight of the children.

She was visibly overwhelmed by the love and compassion shown by the local assembly and appealed to other religious organisations to emulate the gesture.

Present at the ceremony were Pastor Francis Lamptey (District Minister) and his wife, Mrs. Linda Lamptey, among others.

Report by Justice Awunor, Atakora District.
