The Ashanti Bekwai Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated assorted items worth GH¢ 9,000.00 to Bekwai Government Hospital, Jacobu Catholic Hospital, Kokofu Government Hospital, Nkwanta Polyclinic, and St. Martins Hospital at Manso Agroyesum.
Other beneficiaries are the Bekwai District Police Command and the Bekwai Traditional Council.
The items distributed were made up of 30 pieces of Veronica buckets, bowls and stands; 20 boxes of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, 80 gallons of liquid soap, and 22 packs of paper napkins.
The Area Head, Apostle Nicholas Appiah-Missah, on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, presented the items to the beneficiary institutions. He explained that the gesture was part of the church’s contribution towards the fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
Apostle Appiah-Missah used the occasion to disclose some of the interventions that The Church of Pentecost has made at all levels in her bid to help the government fight the deadly viral disease.
This, according to him, include support to various health facilities in the country, Police Administration, Prisons, and other frontline workers. He also made mention of the release of the church’s ultra-modern Convention Centre to the government as an isolation centre for COVID-19 patients.
Nana Opoku Ababio (Adontenhene of Bekwai Traditional Area), and Mr. Yaw Adu Asamoah, representative of the Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), on behalf of the beneficiary institutions, expressed their deepest appreciation to the church for the kind gesture.
Mr. Yaw Adu Asamoah urged the general public to adhere to the safety protocols that have been put in place by the government and health officials to avoid being infected by the virus.
In attendance was the pastorate in the Area and other church officers.
