The Antoakrom District in the Ashanti Bekwai Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a retirement service in honour of 15 Officers for their years of dedicated service to God and the Church.

The retirees were; Elders Emmanuel Kwabena Ofori, Stephen Osei Boadi, Paul Owusu Danso, Kwabena Sika, Emmanuel Kofi Obeng, Baffour Gyaw Ababio, Robert Asamoah, David Adu Asabre, and Deacon John Akwetey. The remaining are Deaconesses Cecilia Nsiah, Mercy Serwaah, Elizabeth Osei Boadi, Elizabeth Amankwah, Susanna Acheampong, and Elizabeth Gyimah.

The retirement service was held at the Antoakrom Central church building on Sunday, May 26, 2019. It was used to appreciate the meritorious service rendered by the retired Officers.

The Bekwai Area Head, Apostle Nicholas Appiah Missah, who officiated the service, delivered a brief word of exhortation titled: “Well Done!”

Reading from Matthew 25:21-30, and drawing lessons from the Parable of the Talents, Apostle Appiah Missah advised Church leaders to emulate the good example set by the two servants who utilised the talents given them because they acquired a hundred per cent each of their original talents.

He indicated that “Church Leaders must be careful not to leave their talents dormant like the third servant in the parable because God judges harshly those who do His work with a lackadaisical and lukewarm attitude.”

He further explained the duties of Church Officers, (Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses) using the Ministers Handbook.

Apostle Appiah Missah commended the retired officers for their great service.

In attendance were: Pastor Emmanuel Foster Asamoah (Antoakrom District Minister), Overseer Maxwell and Mrs. Dorinda Ntow of Manso Abore District, and Mrs. Hilda Lovelace Asamoah (Minister’s Wife, Antoakrom). Others were Nana Akua Sakyiwaa II (Queen Mother of Manso Akropong), and Nana Abena Achiaa III (Queen Mother of Manso Moseaso)
