The Abuakwa Area of The Church of Pentecost has dedicated its new Mission House to the glory of the Lord.
The magnificent edifice was dedicated by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
He was assisted by Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (Immediate-past General Secretary), Apostle Yaw Adjei Kwarteng (Coordinator for Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council), Apostle John Appiah Aidoo (Abuakwa Area Head), Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah (Rtd.), the immediate-past Chairman and Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo (Rtd.), immediate-past International Missions Director.
Other dignitaries present were Apostles Dr. Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe (La Area Head), Vincent Anane Denteh (PEMEM Director and Chieftaincy Ministry Coordinator), John Obeng Kesse (Suame Area Head), Peter Kofi Dzemekey (Asokwa Area Head), John Budu Tawiah (Kwadaso Area Head), Emmanuel Kwasi Osei Ofosu (Sefwi Bekwai Area Head), William Boakye Agyarko (Obuasi Area Head), Kenneth Baffoe Antwi (Ejisu Area Head), Samuel Edzii Davidson (Offinso Area Head), Daniel Owusu-Akyaw (Konongo Area Head), and Apostle Patrick K. Ennin (Rtd.).
The memorable service brought together church members, Chiefs and royals, community leaders in the Area, the Area, and other regional pastorate.
In a brief exhortation, Apostle William Boakye Agyarko, the Obuasi Area Head, called on the church to reposition their faith.
Speaking on the topic, “Repositioning your Faith for Maximum Impact – the Centurion Example” (Luke 7:1-10), he drew three lessons as follows: First, the Centurion valued his servant highly. Thus, we must value everybody (Colo. 4:1, Colo. 3:22). Second, he loved the nation/town (though he hailed not from that place) – let us love everyone (Jeremiah 29:11). Third, he was a man of humility (Matt. 11:28-29, 1 Pet. 5:5-6) – it pays to be humble.
He further admonished the church that just as the Centurion did, let us have faith in God (Heb. 11:1) because faith is key to our very existence. The just shall live by faith.
He concluded by telling all leaders to demonstrate Christlike character as this is what we yearn to see in the nation.
Pastor Bernard Omane Agyekum, the Area secretary, read a brief history of the project.
According to him, the vision to put up a new Area Mission House unconsciously emerged from an Area Executive Committee meeting. This was overwhelmingly received and spearheaded by the Area Head, Apostle John Appiah Aidoo when he analytically examined the need for a permanent residence for two ministers in the Area (Atwima Koforidua and PIWC Districts).
Sharing the vision with the members of the Area Executive Committee and the Area Presbytery, the entire Area saw the necessity as a result of the creation of Manhyia District and PIWC-Abuakwa.
The decision paved the way for the old Area Mission House to be redesigned to house the two aforementioned ministers.
