The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, has urged Children’s Ministry workers to develop skill, attitude, and character as the three essential qualities of effective leadership.

Delivering the keynote address at the opening session of the Foundation Builders’ Conference 2026 (FBC’26) at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, on the topic “Three Things That Make One a Leader,” he explained that effective leadership is measured by the positive results it produces.

Drawing lessons from Acts 6, Apostle Dr Nyamekye noted that effective leaders create a positive impact and contribute to growth. He encouraged participants to sharpen their skills through learning and diligence, cultivate positive attitudes through meaningful relationships, and uphold godly character marked by integrity and good conduct.

He disclosed that one of the best ways to teach a child is by example. Character, he said, is who one is when no one is watching, saying, “Children learn more from what you do than what you say.”

He concluded by urging children’s workers to intentionally develop these qualities in order to make a lasting impact on the next generation.

The session set the tone for FBC’26, which is being held under the theme: “The Fully-Equipped Children’s Worker: Reaching Every Child Everywhere Through the Gospel and the Power of the Holy Spirit” (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 78:72).
