The Tamale Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle John Budu Kobina Tawiah, has urged church members to live in peace with their pastors and cooperate with church leaders, stressing the need to recognise and honour the divine responsibility entrusted to them by God.

Apostle Tawiah made the call on Sunday, August 16, 2026, when he preached on the theme, “God’s Treasure in Men,” at a farewell service held in honour of Pastor Fg. Offr. Emmanuel Bosomah at the Bawah Barracks Worship Centre in the Tamale Area.

Speaking from 2 Corinthians 4, the Area Head explained that although church leaders are human and may have weaknesses and shortcomings, God has entrusted them with special graces and spiritual gifts for the benefit of His people.

He said the “treasure” referred to in the Scripture includes the Gospel message, the Holy Spirit, and the divine grace God places upon His servants to enable them fulfil their ministries and advance His Kingdom.

Apostle Tawiah noted that church leaders are not honoured because they are inherently superior to other believers, but because God has chosen them and deposited spiritual treasures in them for the blessing of the Church.

“They hold treasures. Not that they are better, but that God has deposited things in them that are supposed to bless you. Knowing how to receive them will be to your advantage. Don’t fight them,” he cautioned.

He therefore encouraged members to learn from their pastors, receive their ministry and support them rather than oppose or resist their leadership.

The Area Head further emphasised that God places special importance on church leaders because of the responsibilities entrusted to them. He explained that pastors are posted to various districts to advance the shared mission and vision of the Church, a mandate which all members are expected to support.

Apostle Tawiah consequently urged the congregation to wholeheartedly support their pastors and other church leaders as they carry out their God-given responsibilities.

He concluded by emphasising the importance of unity, mutual respect and cooperation between church leaders and members, saying such an atmosphere would enable the spiritual treasures entrusted to God’s servants to become a blessing to the entire congregation.
