The Madina Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Martin Seth Appiah, has launched three new books ahead of his retirement from the full-time ministry of the Church, after 37 years of service.
The books titled Spiritual Reminiscence, Divine Direction and Heaven Awaits the Bride of the Lamb have forewords written by Apostles Dr Daniel Okyere Walker (former Executive Council Member of the Church/First Vice Chancellor of Pentecost University), Prof Opoku Onyinah and Dr Eric Nyamekye (immediate past Chairman and current Chairman of the Church), respectively.
The books were dedicated and unveiled by Apostle Dr Brigadier General B. G. Kumi-Woode, Director-General of Religious Affairs for the Ghana Armed Forces. He was assisted by Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah, and other respected clergymen at the East Legon Worship Centre on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Addressing the congregation, Apostle M. S. Appiah said the books are a product of his walk with God, years of pastoral ministry and his journey of faith and diligently waiting on the Lord for direction.
“Spiritual Reminiscence chronicles my early beginnings, call into leadership, ministry and missionary journeys and impact. Divine Direction addresses fundamental Christian truths concerning God’s will and purpose for humanity, and Heaven Awaits the Bride places emphasis on death, salvation, holiness and glorification of the saints ahead of Christ’s return,” he stated.
The three books were reviewed by Apostle Dr Dan Walker, Prophet Kwasi Annor Asante and Apostle Dr Dela Quampah who commended the author for his doctrinal soundness and practical writing style making it an easy read.
Apostle Dr Walker who did the main review of Spiritual Reminiscence with an ‘academic lens’ described the autobiography as a practical guide with wisdom, spiritual insight in managing church conflict, revealing God’s faithfulness and transformational power in a life devoted to service and godly character.
Prophet Annor who reviewed Heaven Awaits the Bride of the Lamb, noted that the bookwas birthed at the ‘graveyard.’ He emphasised that believers ought to have an eschatological longing and not be comfortable with the here and now while seeing salvation as nuptial and not judicial as Christ will come not to acquit the saints but to secure his bride.
Apostle Dr Quampah also presented on Divine Direction, describing the book’s focus on sources of direction – satanic, human and God as timely as it addresses the contention among theologians and Christians. He commended the author’s style of clarity, confidence and the high level of engagement to drum home and keep focus on God as the only perfect source of direction aptly resolving the controversy surrounding the receipt and issuance of directions.
In a brief remark, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah lauded the author for embracing the discipline required to effectively combine the work of ministry with the craft of writing.
“I want to acknowledge Apostle Appiah for availing himself to write these books. I am very happy. Let me also encourage the culture of writing gradually emerging in the Church. I pray for impactful books to be written to transfer power and knowledge of God to humanity,” he said.
Apostle Martin Seth Appiah served as District Pastor in Otumi, Jacobu and Bohyen; a missionary in Onitsha and Lagos, Nigeria and as National Head in South Africa and the United Kingdom with apostolic oversight for Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho, Seychelles, Greece and Israel, among others. In Ghana, he has served as Area Head for Berekum, Obuasi and Madina. He will proceed on retirement on August 23, 2026.
