The spectacular gathering of over 1,500 royals, made up of Paramount Chiefs, Paramount Queen mothers, Divisional Chiefs, and other chiefs from Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Burkina Faso, has come to a close in glamour.

The three-day event, which began on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, under the theme: “Equipping Royals As Gatekeepers To Possess The Nations” (1 Samuel 18:24-28; Isaiah 21:11; Matthew 13:25-30; Ephesians 5:27), ended on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh, near Kasoa.

Closing the event, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, thanked the various groups and individuals who ensured the success of the historic event, especially the National Executive Committee of the Chieftaincy Ministry and the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM).

“Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do these (John 13:17),” the Chairman stated, urging the participants to practice all that they have learnt at the conference.

The Chairman encouraged the royals to focus on their callings by applying the wisdom of God and the Kingdom principles in their spheres. This, he believes, would propel the achievement of the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda in the chieftaincy institution.

The commencement of the conference had the General Secretary of the church, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, charging the chiefs to live in integrity as gatekeepers of the society. Apostle Lt. Col. Benjamin Kumi-Woode, Acting Director, Air Force Religious Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces, encouraged the royals to appreciate the role of the church in the chieftaincy institution. Rt. Rev Prof. Osei Safo-Kantanka (Former Bishop of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana) also admonished traditional leaders to build a strong relationship among themselves.

Other speakers were Elder Dr Odeneho Affram Brempong III, National Executive Committee Secretary of the Chieftaincy Ministry and King of British Gyaman, and Mr. Ebenezer Acheampong (Procurement Consultant).

Notably among the speakers on the second day were Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah (immediate past Chairman of The Church of Pentecost), Mr. James Ebenezer Kobina Dadson (Acting Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission), a National Security Representative, Rev Dr Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong (Former General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana), Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe (International Missions Director of The Church of Pentecost), as well as Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh (National Co-ordinator of the Chieftaincy Ministry and Director of Pentecost Men’s Ministry).

Nana Dr Susubribi Krobea Asante, Omanhene of Asante Asokore Traditional Area and an accomplished legal luminary, also addressed the royals on Day Three on the topic: “Chieftaincy and Justice Delivery in Traditional Jurisprudence in Ghana.”

Clad in full traditional regalia, the traditional leaders danced and sang to the glorification of God, displaying rich Ghanaian and African culture in the presence of God. The Ghanaian royals were drawn from the 16 regions of the country, namely Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Savannah, Bono East, Bono, Ahafo, North East, Oti, Volta, Ashanti, Eastern, Western North, Western, Central, and Greater Accra regions.

The Royals Conference, an initiative of The Church of Pentecost, is held every three years. The first and second editions were held in 2014 and 2017 respectively.
