The Windy Hill District in the Kasoa Area of The Church of Pentecost has held a special service to honour and retire four elders from active service, recognising their many years of dedicated service as church officers.
The event took place at the Central Assembly auditorium on Sunday, December 15, 2024, and was officiated by Apostle James Kwabena Asare, the Kasoa Area Head, assisted by Pastor Thomas Tete Asare, the Windy Hill District Minister.
The four retirees are: Elder Isaac Kwasi Bediako (38 years of service), Elder Andrews Kwabena Quaning (37 years of service), Elder John Ackom Asante (27 years of service) and Elder Samuel Oduro (14 years of service).
The service was attended by ministers from the Kasoa Area and beyond, including Pastor Samuel Avornyo, the Children’s Ministry Director of The Church of Pentecost, and Apostle Isaac Lartey Abankwa, the National Head of Ireland.
Family members and loved ones of the retirees were also present.Apostle James Asare, on behalf of the Chairman of the church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, congratulated the retirees for their dedicated service to the church and God.
He presented Certificates of Service to them and led a team of ministers in praying for them.
The Windy Hill District presented citations of honour and other gifts to the retirees in appreciation of their meritorious service.In their response, the retirees thanked God for considering them worthy of His calling.
They also expressed gratitude to the Area Head and the Windy Hill District Minister for honouring them with the service and appreciated the support of everyone present.
Pastor Fred Appiah Baah of the Opeikuma District delivered a sermon on the blessings of God, citing Numbers 6:22-27.
