Watch Your Life And Doctrine Closely – Apostle Antwi Tells Prayer Center Leaders

The New Tafo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Antwi, has advised Prayer Centre Leaders (Church Leaders) to be watchful of their Christian life and doctrines lest they lead themselves and their followers (hearers) away from the faith.

Speaking on the topic: “Your Life, Your Message and Your Hearers,” (Acts 20:28-32, 1 Timothy 4:1-16 and 2 Timothy 4:1-5, on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at the ongoing Prayer Centre Leaders’ Retreat at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, Apostle Samuel Antwi said that Prayer Centre leaders are called by God because they also contribute to the work of the ministry.

He said that the purpose of their calling is to lead sinners to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, thereby leading them from eternal destruction to eternal life. They are also to assist Christian converts to attain spiritual maturity in Christ and equip them for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 1:15-23).

Apostle Antwi, however, noted that to be able to save others, the Prayer Centre Leaders (Church leaders) must themselves be saved. He advised them not to be preoccupied with leading others, but always evaluate their Christian life to see if they are still contending for the faith.

He explained that it is only when they (Church leaders) remain in the will of God, that they would be able to guide their followers or hearers on the path to eternal life.

“As a Prayer Centre Leader, you must first be saved, before you can lead others. You are not a signboard showing others the way,” he said.
Touching on the message of the leader, Apostle Samuel Antwi stressed that the message of every Christian leader must be Christ-centred and Christ-focused.

“Satan and his cohorts have messages. Sometimes they also quote from the scriptures. However, as Christian leaders, we only have one message and that is JESUS CHRIST,” he said.

The New Tafo Area Head also advised Church leaders to be wary of false doctrines lest they would lead themselves and their followers astray but to always teach the unadulterated word of God.

Apostle Samuel Antwi, therefore, urged Prayer Centre Leaders (Church leaders) to watch their Christian lives and doctrines closely so that they and their hearers (followers) would continue to remain and grow in Christ. He also advised them not to only rely on their spiritual gifts, bearing in mind that God could still use them to do great miracles, signs and wonders even though they may not necessarily be living in accordance to His will. (Matthew 7:22)
