The Director of the Children’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Samuel Avornyo, has charged parents to prioritise raising their children as priests of God before pursuing professional ambitions for them.
He made the call when the Children’s Week train moved to the Bogoso Area of the Church on Thursday, September 10, 2026, bringing together children and adults from the four Intra-Town Districts. The service recorded an attendance of about 514 participants.
Speaking on the theme, “Raising and Unleashing the Next Generation in Priestly Garments,” Pastor Avornyo said priesthood was central to God’s purpose for His people, as He calls them to belong to Him, serve Him and declare His oracles to the world.
Drawing from Exodus 28, he explained that just as God called Aaron and his sons to serve as priests, believers, including children, are called to serve God and represent Him in their generation.
Pastor Avornyo cautioned that the Church’s “Possessing the Nations” agenda could become a mirage if children were not deliberately trained, equipped and prepared to take their place in God’s agenda. He therefore urged parents to give their children a strong identity in Christ and train them to live righteous lives as they navigate a world filled with diverse forms of evil.
He emphasised that children who are raised in the ways of the Lord would be better equipped to withstand worldly pressures and remain faithful to God, regardless of the professions they eventually pursue.
At the service, Pastor Avornyo also launched the Operation Hi 5 Agenda, a Children’s Week initiative aimed at winning 90,000 children for Christ. The campaign seeks to mobilise at least five children from every local assembly during the one-week Children’s Week observance.
The initiative forms part of the Children’s Ministry’s broader effort to reach, disciple and unleash the next generation for kingdom impact.
Present at the service were the Bogoso Area Head, Apostle Frimpong Manso; the Area Children’s Ministry Leader, Pastor Samuel Adwomfo; other ministers and their wives, Children’s Workers, children and members of the Church.
