The Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost at PIWC Tarkwa has donated assorted items and cash worth GHC 33,000.00 to the Angels of Hope Orphanage Centre as part of activities marking the 2026 National Women’s Week Celebration.
The donation exercise, held on May 9, 2026, was undertaken under the guidance of the Tarkwa Area Head, Apostle Dr Nyansa Hayfron, and his wife, Mrs Sheila Hayfron. The outreach was led by the District Women’s Leader, Deaconess Mrs Hilda Owusuaa Frimpong, together with Mrs Gifty Osei Danso, wife of the Resident Minister, and members of the ministry.
Items presented to the orphanage included bags of rice, basins of corn and cassava dough, gallons of cooking oil, detergents, bar soaps, hand and toilet tissues, diapers, children’s clothing and shoes. The team also donated liquid soap, bleach, fabric softeners, floor cleaners, bottled water, and assorted soft drinks.
Beyond the presentation of items, the delegation spent time fellowshipping and praying with the children and caretakers of the facility, encouraging them in the Lord.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the orphanage, the Warden, Auntie Esi, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Women’s Ministry for the gesture. She explained that the facility depends largely on occasional support from individuals and organisations, as well as personal contributions from her own resources, making the upkeep of the orphanage challenging.
She further shared the condition of a three-year-old boy at the facility suffering from hydrocephalus. According to her, the child is unable to walk, sit, or speak. Although he underwent a surgical procedure, the treatment was unsuccessful, and financial constraints have prevented further medical care. She appealed to the ministry and other benevolent groups to continue extending support to the orphanage.
The Angels of Hope Orphanage Centre is a non-governmental organisation located at Lowcost in Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana.
Among the Women’s Ministry representatives present were Deaconess Mrs Doris Hagan, Assistant Leader; Deaconess Professor Ohenewaa Kakra Dankwa, Secretary; Deaconess Gladys Opoku Yeboah, Treasurer; and Deaconess Faustina Affam, Executive Member. They were supported by the Tarkwa Area Women’s Leader, Deaconess Mrs Martha Afi Owulaku, alongside several other women in the ministry.
