The Women’s Ministry of the Old Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised its maiden edition of quiz competition for Virtuous Ladies aimed at equipping them with the word of God and general knowledge of the Church.

The quiz, which took place at the Old Tafo Central Assembly auditorium recently, covered the current affairs of the Church and the Book of Esther.

The contestants from the thirteen districts within the Area battled it out and at the end of the competition, the Old Tafo District, which was represented by Deaconess Lydia Oppong Siaw, emerged winner with 34 points, while Atimatim and Ankaase Districts placed second and third respectively to the glory of God.

For their prizes, Deaconess Lydia Oppong Siaw, received Women’s Ministry cloth, Virtuous Ladies attire and a wall clock, while each participant was given a consolation prize.

Speaking to PENTECOST NEWS on the rationale behind the quiz competition, the Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Deconess Mavis Addai, disclosed that it was part of the repositioning agenda for the ladies for maximum impact.

She noted that the ladies, as potential leaders of the Church, need to be equipped with the word of God and the general knowledge of The Church of Pentecost to help understand their calling.

She was impressed with the organisation of the event and applauded the effort of the coordinating team towards the program.

On her part, the winner of the competition, Deaconess Lydia Oppong Siaw, encouraged the young ones to consistently read their Bibles and partake in church activities to have an in-depth knowledge of the word of God and the Church in order to be established in the faith.
