The Ntobroso District in Abuakwa Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a mass marriage blessing ceremony for 22 couples in the church. The historic ceremony took place on December 29, 2018 at the Central auditorium.
The Area Head, Apostle Emmanuel Kwasi Osei Ofosu, who officiated the service, congratulated the couples and urged other couples to emulate their example.
In a remark, the District Minister, Pastor Thomas Appiah, stated that, the purpose of the event was to increase the number of communicants in the church. He added that it was to help couples to regularize their marriages and allow them to enjoy the privileges that come with it.
He concluded that, mass weddings are less expensive and challenged the youth to consider it as an option.
Delivering the sermon at the service on the topic, “Managing Weaknesses in Marriage,” (Genesis 2:21-24), Rev. Elijah K. Fosu of Ntobroso Assemblies of God Church advised the couples to build their marriages on the word of God.
He stated: “In successful marriages, couples manage their differences well, respect their spouses, avoid infidelity, and resist temptations that can destroy their marriage.”
Reading further from Romans 14:15, Rev. Elijah Fosu encouraged the couples to prepare their families for the second coming of Christ.
Present at the ceremony were Mrs Sophia Osei Ofosu (wife of the Area Head), Mr Isaac Amoh Acheampong (Deputy Ashanti Regional Registrar of Marriage), the clergy, families of the couples, and members of the church.
