The La Area of The Church of Pentecost has awarded full scholarship packages to 10 brilliant but needy students to pursue various degree programmes at the Pentecost University College (PUC) from the 2019/2020 academic year.
The scholarships were awarded to the beneficiary students at a short ceremony held at the La Area Office on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
The La Area Scholarship Scheme Committee (LASS-C), which is headed by Apostle Emmanuel Kwesi Acquah, screened 11 applicants out of which 10 were selected.
The full list of beneficiaries with their courses and places of worship is as follows: Belinda Andoh (BSc Bus. Adm. HR Mgt), Linda Andoh (BSc Bus. Adm. HR Mgt), Abigail N. A. Ankrah (BSc Nursing) – all of Burma Camp Worship Centre; Isaac Ansah (BSc Bus. Adm. Acct.) and James Amo Parker (BSc Bus. Adm. Acct.) -both at Onyametsease Worship Centre; Abigail Ayeko Nanor (BSc Nursing – Danquah Worship Centre); Seth Addo Bentil (BSc IT – Roman Ridge District); Ruby Atiglo (BSc Bus. Adm. Marketing – Maamobi District); Kingsford Asare (BSc IT – French PIWC) and Beatrice Duncan (BSc Midwifery – Adabraka District).
The Area Head, Apostle John Osei Amaniampong, together with members of LASS-C and a cross-section of ministers in the Area met the beneficiary students and their parents/guardians for the formal notification and presentation of the package to them.
The students were strongly admonished to be studious and also of good conduct to justify their continued enjoyment of the package.
The provisional cost of the package per annum is GH₡59,469.00, covering tuition, academic facility user fees, accommodation and other fees.
Apostle Amaniampong hinted that LASS will continue to support students in the ensuing years.
