The Ashanti-Bekwai Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Fred Tiakor, has informed Christians that God has chosen them to become His special people in the world.
Apostle Fred Tiakor shared this insight during the 2024 Area Officers’ Retreat (Apostolisation) held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, for the Datano Zone at the Manso Nkran Assembly.
Speaking on the topic: “The Church as a People of God,” he explained that Christ Jesus, who is the light of the world (John 1: 4), called and chose us from the kingdom of darkness, sanctified us with His blood, and brought us into His marvellous kingdom of light.
He reiterated that we were once not a people, but now, through Christ Jesus our Lord, we have become God’s chosen people.
Reading Exodus 19:5-6, Apostle Tiakor pointed out that after the fall of man in the garden of Eden, God sought for a people to become His chosen people. He chose Noah, Abraham, and Jacob and made a nation called Israel out of Jacob.
He stated that God chose Israel out of all the nations of the world and made a covenant with her as His treasured possession among all peoples.
He noted that God made Israel a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. He reiterated that the Church is the spiritual Israel in the world—a people called out of the world of darkness to become His holy nation, a kingdom of royal priesthood.
The Ashanti-Bekwai Area Head emphasised that God’s purpose in choosing the church as His people is to make her a shining light to the world. The church bears the power of God and is God’s vessel of transformation.
He stressed that Christians must shine as a light to cause a positive influence in this perverse, dark world. The only hope of the world is the church, the chosen people of God.
Apostle Fred Tiakor concluded by saying that the church, as a people of God, must unleash the tremendous power of God locked up in her to bring about positive transformation in the world.
The 2024 Apostolisation, which started on Monday, 26th February, will end on Friday, 1st March 2024, at three zonal centres. The Apostolisation has Apostle Frederick Kweku Andoh (Area Head-Assin Fosu), Pastor Ben Ofei-Badu (Nungua District), and Apostle Kingsford Kyei Mensah (Rtd.) as guest speakers.
