Apostle Joseph Danzerl, the Achimota Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has emphasised that faith in Christ Jesus brings both immediate and future benefits of eternal life.
Speaking on Friday, November 22, 2024, during the conclusion of the ‘Kenyase For Christ’ Crusade organised by the New Tafo Area at the Kenyase M/A School Park, he urged everyone to believe in Jesus Christ for a fulfilling life.
Addressing the main theme of the crusade, “Jesus Christ —Life that Satisfies,” based on Colossians 3:3-4 and 1 John 5:11-12, Apostle Danzerl discussed two forms of life: “Bios” and “Zoe.” He explained that “bios” refers to the duration of life, which is the time between birth and death. This kind of life, he said, is common to all living beings, including animals. He expressed worry that many people dedicate significant amounts of time and energy to this temporary aspect of life.
In contrast, he described “zoe” as the essence of life that is eternal and not limited by time or death, obtained exclusively through faith in Christ Jesus (John 1:3-4, 3:16).
“Jesus Christ is the only source of eternal life, and this life cannot be purchased with money but is received by believing in Him,” he stated, adding, “This eternal life is both a present reality and a future hope.”
Defining satisfaction as a state of contentment and fulfilment, Apostle Danzerl stressed that true satisfaction comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ, not external circumstances. To illustrate this point, he referenced the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19, pointing out that despite his wealth, Zacchaeus struggled to find true joy and fulfilment in life until he encountered Jesus.
According to Apostle Danzerl, Zacchaeus’ commitment to give half of his possessions to the poor and repay four times anyone he had cheated after meeting Jesus reflects that he genuinely found fulfilment through his encounter with Jesus.
“True satisfaction does not come from material possessions or worldly achievements. Instead, it is fundamentally linked to one’s relationship with Jesus,” he reiterated, adding, “Tonight, I want you to go home with Jesus, who is a ‘full package,’ and your life will never be the same.”
Apostle Joseph Danzerl highlighted that those who have Christ experience forgiveness of sin, peace with God, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, victory over death, and joy that endures forever. He added that such individuals have deep sense of purpose and eternal security.
He concluded his sermon with a heartfelt invitation for all unbelievers to embrace faith in Christ Jesus to receive true satisfaction and eternal life.
