Nkawkaw Area Women’s Ministry Organises Entrepreneurship Training For Women

The Nkawkaw Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has organised a three-day entrepreneurship workshop and exhibition for women in the Area.

The event, which took place from December 13th to 15th 2021, was targeted at empowering women in tackling societal challenges of unemployment with vocational and entrepreneurial skills. It also sought to inculcate the habit of saving in the women.

The facilitators were Mrs. Grace Aniakwaa (wife of the Area Head), Mr. Joshua Nii Quaye, Mrs. Millicent Ndedeh, Mrs. Beauty Buabeng, Mrs. Harrienta Danquah and Mrs. Wendy Gyimah.

Notably among the courses covered were the making of Powerzone (Thick/light Bleach), Liquid Soap, Washing Powder, Bar Soap, Disinfectant, Floor Cleaner, Shower Gel and Hair Shampoo.

With over 500 participants, the trainees left the exhibition centre skilled in the making of Body Cream, Asaana, Millet Drink, Fresh Yogurt, Soya Bean Khebab, Koose, Pastries and Cakes, Fried Rice and many more. They were also given certificates and training manuals as part of the packages.

The participants in return showed their appreciation to the Area Head and his wife, Prophet Foster and Mrs. Grace Aniakwaa, as well as the Area Women’s Ministry led by Mrs. Gifty Addo, for their thoughtful initiative in empowering them.

PIWC-Sakumono Women’s Ministry Visits New Life Orphanage

The Women’s Ministry of Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Sakumono, as part of the activities marking the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, has visited the New Life Orphanage at Nungua, Accra to put smiles on the faces of the inmates.

Items worth about GHS 12,000.00 and a cash donation of GHS 2,000.00 were donated to the Home during the visit which took place on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

The items donated included bags of rice, breakfast cereals, buckets, assorted drinks, biscuits, bottled water, cooking oil, clothes, and shoes. Others were toilet rolls, sanitary pads, baby diapers, among others.

As part of the visit, members of the ministry fellowshipped with the inmates. In an exhortation, the wife of the Resident Minister for PIWC-Sakumono, Mrs. Eunice Owusu Sekyere Kwarteng, quoted 2 Timothy 3:15 and Luke 2:52 and asked the children to read their Bibles and pray every day and strengthen themselves in the word of God.

“The mother of all mothers who caters for children is the Lord Jesus Christ,” she said and added: “Society may forget about you but our Lord Jesus Christ will remember you. Therefore, take the word of God seriously and grow in it.” 

She prayed the favour of God upon their lives, and an excellent spirit for them to learn and be obedient to the mothers of the Home.

Presenting the items on behalf of the ministry, the Women’s Ministry Leader for PIWC-Sakumono, Deaconess Isabella Orhin, said the ministry was touched by the plight of the children and wanted them to have a great Christmas.

“As Christians, we strongly believe that children are a gift from God and must have the right to live irrespective of the circumstances surrounding their gestation and birth,” she said.

Receiving the items, Nii Afotey Botwe II, the head of the Home, thanked the church for the kind gesture. He called on other churches to also come to their aid.

Currently, the orphanage houses 92 inmates, made up of teenagers and toddlers.

UMaT District Women’s Ministry Donates To Terebrebie Clinic

The Women’s Ministry of the UMaT District in the Tarkwa Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated some items to the Teberebie Community Health Centre.

The items, which include towels, sets of pillows, toilet rolls, liquid soap, bars of Keysoap, nose masks, and detergents, were presented by the District Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Esther Addison, on behalf of the ministry, at a short presentation ceremony on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. 

The District Minister, Pastor Bright Nyamedor, advised staff of the clinic to work diligently, bearing in mind that God will reward them for the acts of service they render to humanity. He also advised them to put the items to good use. 

Receiving the items, Mrs Agnes Akosah, the Officer-in-charge of the centre, expressed delight at the wonderful gesture. She expressed gratitude to the Church and assured them that the items would serve their intended purpose.

The Chief of Teberebie, Nana Bonsu, an Elder of the Church, commended the Women’s Ministry for the donation describing it as “unprecedented,” and encouraged others to emulate the Church’s example. 

Present at the ceremony were Mrs. Esther Nyamedor (Wife of UMat District Minister), the District Women’s Ministry Executive Committee members and some delegates from the local assemblies.

Worawora District Women’s Ministry Builds Police Post

In line with the “Possessing the Nations” agenda of The Church of Pentecost, the Worawora District Women’s Ministry has put up a Police Post to help beef up security in the Worawora community.

The facility, which is situated at the Akposo Kabo barrier on the Worawora-Dambai stretch, was commissioned and handed over to the Ghana Police Service by the Hohoe Area Head, Apostle Moses Ahiakor, last Wednesday.

Speaking at the event, the District Police Commander, Superintendent Simon Amewu, said the facility would aid their operations and thanked the Church for the kind gesture.

Present at the event was Pastor Samuel Oduetey Opata, the Worawora District Minister.

Women’s Ministry Takes Gospel To The Street

The Women’s Ministry Director of The Church of Pentecost, Deaconess Philomina Mireku, joined women of the Ashaiman Area for a “Street Gospel Evangelism” exercise last Sunday.

The event was organised in partnership with the Area’s “Jesus Is Coming” Evangelism Team at the forecourt of Franko Trading Enterprise, located at the Ashaiman Main Station.

As part of the exercise, the women evangelised to night workers in the Ashaiman market and also visited some slums (ghettos) to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with the residents. 

Fifty-two people surrendered their lives to Christ during the exercise. Thirteen of the new converts underwent water baptism on the same day and 15 others received Holy Spirit baptism.

Pastor Dickson Boahen (Estate District), Pastor Stephen Bonzoe (Chapel Square District), Pastor Samuel Ofori Gyimah (Home and Urban Mission Pastor, Ashaiman Sector) and Deaconess Evelyn Asare (Area Women’s Ministry Leader) took part in the exercise.

Gblapedo District Inaugurates ‘Virtuous Ladies’

The Gblapedo District in the Aflao Area of The Church of Pentecost has inaugurated the Virtuous Ladies wing of the Women’s Ministry. 

The colourful event, organised under the theme: “The Empowered Lady, A Key To Possessing The Nations” (Proverbs 31:29), was held at the auditorium of the Central Assembly on October 17 this year.

The Special Guest of Honour for the occasion, Mrs. Faith Dzemekey (Wife of the Aflao Area Head), encouraged the young ladies to lead a chaste life consecrated unto God. 

“The purpose of the empowerment of God is to make you ready to positively influence every sphere of the society with values and principles of God’s kingdom,” she asserted.

Pastor Samuel Ansoadek, the Gblapedo District Minister, also encouraged the young ladies to manifest Christian traits as genuine brides of Christ on earth. 

Ten souls were won for Christ at the event and baptised in water on the same day.

Also in attendance were Deaconess Mary Elorm Wormenor (Area Virtuous Ladies Coordinator), Deaconess Grace Senu (Area Women’s Ministry Leader), and Mrs. Eunice Asoandek (Wife of the Gblapedo District Minister)

Teshie- Nungua Area Screens Women For Breast Cancer

The Teshie-Nungua Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has organised a series of events in observance of the Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Women from all 26 districts in the area converged at the Agnes Boahemaa Gyimah Memorial Temple, Nungua last Saturday to participate in an evangelism float organised as part of the observance. 

They walked through the principal streets of the town holding placards bearing messages of salvation such as “Jesus is the only way, the truth and life,” “If you do not go to Heaven do not blame God,” “You may be in church but not in Christ,” and “Repent, Confess! Life in Christ begins on this note.” 

Other inscriptions were “Had I known is always at last,” “Jesus loves you,” “Behold I am coming soon,” and “Repent or Perish!” 

The women ended the float at the premises of the Pentecost International Worship Centre, Graceland (PIWC-Graceland), where they were screened by health professionals for breast cancer.

The health workers also educated them on early signs and symptoms of breast cancer and the various treatment processes for the disease.

The wife of the Area Head, Mrs. Grace Nkrumah-Agyeman, and the Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Mrs. Sophia Nana Arthur, were grateful to the districts for their massive participation in the exercise.

The various ministers’ wives in the area also took part in the event.

Tarkwa Area Women’s Ministry Supports Tarkwa Pentecost School

The Area Women’s Ministry of Tarkwa Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated items to Pentecost Preparatory School (PPS), Tarkwa to mark the International Day for the Girl-Child, which was held recently.

The items, worth over GHS 3,070.00, were financed by the Area Women’s Ministry of Tarkwa Area. The donations were presented by the Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Elizabeth Adwoa Gyan, on behalf of the Area Head, Apostle Dr Daniel Okyere Walker, and his wife, Mrs. Irene Odi Walker.

The assorted items presented to the school included four boxes of sanitary pads, 500 customised exercise books, 30 packs of face masks, 50 packs of pencils, six pens and three packs of erasers, two boxes of paper glue, two boxes of marker pens, among others.

Mr. Ebenezer Ntiakoh, the School Bursar, who received the items on behalf of the headmaster, was full of praise for the kind gesture and encouraged other ministries to follow suit.

Exhorting the students, Mrs. Rosemary A. Vuvor, the wife of Pastor Benjamin Vuvor (Resident Minister at Tarkwa Worship Centre), admonished the students to avoid engaging in social vices. She advised them not to join bad companies.

Quoting Proverb 1:10, Mrs. Vuvor urged the students to avoid evil acts such as stealing, fornicating, and gossiping, but rather, follow the example of Jesus Christ and be like Jesus Christ.

Deaconess Gloria Agyeman, the Area Women’s Ministry Secretary, took the students through personal hygiene. She taught the students how to clean their bodies and the importance of keeping their bodies clean. She took the students through a practical demonstration of how to keep their bodies clean.

Present at the presentation ceremony were the Area Executive Committee members, some pastors’ wives, and District Women’s Ministry leaders.

Teshie-Nungua Women’s Ministry Organises Girl-Child Sensitisation Outreach

As part of activities to mark the 2021 International Girl Child Day, the Teshie Nungua Area (TNA) Women’s Ministry undertook a sensitisation outreach at the Teshie-Gonno Cluster of Schools. 

The Teshie Lekma 4 Primary and Kindergarten pupils were on the afternoon shift when the Area Women’s Leader, Deaconess Sophia Nana Arthur, and her team visited the school. The delegation also included Deaconess Harriet Owusu Agbenya (Assistant Area Ministry Leader) and some district leaders from the Area. 

In line with the theme for this year’s celebrations, the Area Women’s Leader sensitised the girls on menstruation and the benefits of menstrual hygiene. 

She mentioned that menstruation is unique to females, and access to the proper knowledge on the use and disposal of sanitary pads was necessary for the girl-child. 

Deaconess Arthur also stressed the importance of digital literacy and the safe and effective use of digital technologies. “Digital literacy is not taking selfies and updating WhatsApp statuses but understanding the ubiquitous technologies available to us and using them appropriately,” she said.

The ministry also donated exercise books, pencils, erasers, reading books, liquid soaps, sanitary pads, and food items to the pupils. 

The headmistress of the school, Mrs Ernestina Markine, received the items on behalf of the pupils. Together with some teachers at the school, they expressed gratitude to the church for the kind gesture. 

Mrs Markine shared some of the challenges school authorities had to deal with due to parental neglect, for which reasons she considered the items timely and necessary to meet the needs of the 21st-century girl-child.

In all, about 200 pupils from classes 1 to 6 participated in the event.

The United Nations has declared October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child. The day is observed to create awareness on the importance of adolescent girls and attempts made by society to empower and identify their potentials by providing opportunities for them.

Be True Servants

Be True Servants of The Lord – Apostle Ofei Ankra-Badu Tells Women

The Tema Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Ofei Ankra-Badu, has charged Christian women to strive to become true servants of God.

Speaking at the September edition of Shiloh Prayers of the Area Women’s Ministry (Prampram Zone) held at the Galilee Prayer Centre in Great Ningo District on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, on the topic: “Relating Well with God” based on 1 Samuel 1:1-11, Genesis 3 and Isaiah 54:13-17, Apostle Ankra-Badu narrated the situation in which Hannah found herself as a barren woman while her rival Peninah was being blessed with many children.

According to him, Hannah nursed bitterness against her husband and her rival which initially hampered her prayer life.

“But when she [Hannah] decided to draw closer to God during an annual worship service at Shiloh, she poured her heart out to God in prayer and that drew God closer,” he said, adding, “When you draw closer to God, you hear His voice and when you relate rightly with God, all the other things move on smoothly.”

The Area Head led the over 500 participants to carefully examine Hannah’s character towards God with regards to the afflictions she went through and explained how connected mankind was to God until the fall of man. 

He advised women to be obedient to God’s command by submitting to their husbands no matter the circumstances, stressing that it is the Lord alone who is capable of transforming them into good husbands, and through that, all blockades in their prayers will be removed.

“Hannah laughed at long last because God answered her prayers, not only with Samuel but additional five other children,” he stated.

Concluding his message, Apostle Emmanuel Ofei Ankra-Badu stated that if Christian women are in good relationship with God, the Lord will surely bless their children.

“When we are in good relationship with the Lord, He will fight all our battles for us, and no weapon formed against us shall prosper because we are true servants of God,” he said.

In attendance at the programme were Pastors Peter Mensah Awitor (Prampram District), Essel Kofi Annor (Dawhenya District), Percy Opoku Ahwenee Dankwah (Tsopoli District), Isaac Amofa Yeboah (Goi District) and William Boachie-Ansah (Great Ningo District), as well as the Area and Zonal leadership of the Women’s Ministry headed by Deaconess Charity Kuwornu, the Area Women’s Ministry Leader.
