Four New Ministry Leaders Inducted

The Church of Pentecost on Sunday, August 31, 2025, inducted new leaders into four strategic ministries of the church at a solemn but colourful service held at the Pentecost International Worship Centre, Atomic (PIWC-Atomic).

The leaders inducted into office were Apostle Dr Paul Danso, Director of the Counselling Ministry (COPCOM); Pastor Benjamin Quaye Ofei-Badu, National Coordinator of the Home and Urban Missions (HUM); Pastor ASP Thomas Owusu Brefo, National Coordinator of the Prisons Ministry, and Elder Nana Samuel Tobin, who now serves as National Coordinator of the Ministry to the Market.

The induction service was officiated by Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of the church, with support from the General Secretary, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi; the Missions Director, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, and other members of the Executive Council.

Preaching the sermon on the theme, “The Holy Spirit Will Continue to Lead and Guide the Church,” Apostle Asabil (retd), referencing Isaiah 55:8–9 and 1 Corinthians 2:9–16, reminded believers that the work of God cannot be accomplished by human wisdom.

“The Church can only be built in God’s way, not by human wisdom,” he stressed, adding, “It is flattering to read in Scripture that we have the mind of Christ. But this is not a call into omniscience; rather, it is a call to be guided by the Holy Spirit.”

He also cautioned ministers against division, describing it as a scheme of the enemy to derail the mission of the Church.

In his charge to the inductees, Apostle Nyamekye urged them to fully understand their responsibilities, remain faithful to the constitution of the church, and diligently serve God, the Executive Council, the General Council, and the entire church community.

The Missions Director, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, later led a powerful prayer session for the new leaders, asking God to empower them to accomplish “what no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor has entered into the heart of man,” to the glory of His name.

The service was marked by prayer, exhortation, and joy, as the church formally committed its new ministry leaders into the hands of God for fruitful and Spirit-led service.

New Executive Council Members Urged To Rely On The Holy Spirit

Newly inducted Executive Council members of The Church of Pentecost have been urged to depend wholly on the Holy Spirit in the discharge of their mandate.

A retired minister and former Executive Council member of the church, Apostle Joseph Assabil, gave the admonition in a sermon he delivered titled, ‘The Holy Spirt Will Continue To Lead And Guide The Church’ at the induction service held for the seven newly elected Executive Council members at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) Atomic.

The newly inducted Executive Council members are: Apostle Sundaram James Raj (India National Head), Apostle Dr David Nyansah Hayfron (Tarkwa Area Head), Apostle Dr Philip Osei-Korsah (Immediate past Counselling Ministry Director and Incoming Nkawkaw Area Head), Apostle John Budu Kobina Tawiah (Tamale Area Head), Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo (Immediate past National Coordinator of the Home and Urban Missions/Incoming Ho Area Head), Apostle Peter Kofi Dzemekey (Asokwa Area Head) and Apostle Abraham Swanzy (Immediate past Dormaa Ahenkro Area Head and Incoming Sunyani Area Head).

Also at the service, special prayer was said for Apostle Dr Paul Danso (Director, Counselling Ministry), Pastor Benjamin Quaye Ofei-Badu (National Coordinator, Home and Urban Missions), and Pastor ASP Thomas Owusu Brefo (National Coordinator, Prisons Ministry), who officially assumed their respective roles.

Preaching the sermon, Apostle Assabil (retd) quoted from Isaiah 55:8-9 and 1 Corinthians 2:9-16, and explained that if anyone decides to walk with God, it is the person who must submit to God, not the other way round.

He added that the Apostle Paul, in his writings to the early church, emphasized reliance on divine wisdom rather than human reasoning.“It is flattering to read in scripture that we have the mind of Christ.

But this is not a call into omniscience; rather, it is a call to be guided by the Holy Spirit,” he stressed.

Apostle Assabil highlighted the crucial role of the Executive Council in steering the affairs of the church, drawing parallels with the early apostles who relied on prayer and the direction of the Holy Spirit to spread the gospel despite the challenges.

He recalled the difficult transition from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant, noting that it took divine guidance for the apostles to lead the church through that era.

“The church today is under attack. There are efforts to undermine the role of ministers in the administration and teaching of the church.

But we must remain loyal to the church, the Executive Council, and the Chairman, who together bear the responsibility of leading the church,” he admonished.

He further cautioned against division among ministers, describing it as a scheme of the enemy to derail the mission of the church, saying, “God chose all the Chairmen of the church ahead of time, polished and prepared them for the exact moment of their appointment,” he affirmed.

The induction ceremony marked a significant moment in the leadership of The Church of Pentecost as the new Executive Council members and ministry coordinators formally assumed their roles to support the global mission of the church.

Apostle Agyei Kwafo Honoured As He Relocates To Ho Area

A heartfelt farewell service was held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Mamprobi Worship Centre in Accra to honour the outgoing National Coordinator of the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, and his wife, Mrs Agartha Kwafo, in recognition of their impactful ministry within the church.

Apostle Kwafo, the pioneering National Coordinator of HUM, has been transferred to serve as Area Head for the Ho Area, and will also be joining the Executive Council of the church.

Under his visionary leadership, HUM has experienced remarkable growth, initiating projects such as the Annual Fulani Convention, the School of Fulani Ministry, the PENT5000 Outreach, which has fed over 12,000 vulnerable children, and the establishment of hundreds of HUM assemblies and cells.

Known for his servant leadership, tireless work ethic, and fervent passion for soul-winning, Apostle Kwafo has inspired both ministers and congregants through his humility, dedication, and innovative strategies. His ministry ethos—that the gospel must reach all people, irrespective of their background—has led thousands to Christ and significantly shaped the spiritual landscape of the Church.

His wife, Mrs Agartha Kwafo, has been a spiritual pillar and ministry partner, known for her prophetic gifting, influential leadership among ministers’ wives, and her commitment to nurturing godly family values. Together, they have exemplified a balanced, prayerful Christian home, fostering unity and love within the church family.

He emphasised the importance of seeking a deep, intimate understanding of God’s ways and presence, drawing parallels with Moses’ encounter with God in the wilderness, as the true path to success.

Apostle Sey indicated that enduring faith is not sustained by signs and wonders alone, but through continual alignment with God’s principles and presence.

Numerous heartfelt testimonies from ministers, ministry leaders, and Headquarters Management and Staff, celebrated the Kwafo family’s legacy of humility, integrity, and faithful service.

Jesus Bore It All – Apostle Davidson Declares

The Offinso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson, has affirmed that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross extends beyond forgiveness, ushering in healing as well.

Speaking at the ‘Afram Plains for Christ’ crusade, he referenced 1 Peter 2:24, declaring that Christ carried the sins and ailments of humanity to the cross so they no longer must bear them themselves.

He said this on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, while preaching on the theme: ‘Jesus Christ, The Only Way To Eternal Life’ (John 14:6).

Drawing from 1 Peter 2:24, he stated: ‘Jesus Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.’

Apostle Davidson emphasised that through belief in Jesus Christ, the sins of believers are forgiven and are no longer their burden to carry.

With profound conviction, he stated: ‘If Jesus carried our illness and our sins to the cross, we do not have to carry them any longer.’

He encouraged believers to shun sin to demonstrate their acceptance of the Gospel, saying that if one truly believes that sickness and sin no longer belong to them because of Christ’s sacrifice, they can experience healing—the fulfillment of the promise, ‘By His stripes we are healed’.

Apostle Davidson concluded with a stirring call: ‘If you truly believe that Jesus has borne your sins on the cross, you ought to start doing what you couldn’t do before.’

Apostle Appiah Urges Believers to Hold Fast to Jesus, the Way to Eternal Life

Speaking at the ongoing ‘Afram Plains for Christ’ crusade on the theme, ‘Jesus Christ, The Only Way to Eternal Life’ (John 14:6), Apostle Emmanuel Kwesi Appiah, Director of the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, has encouraged believers never to give up, regardless of their situation in life, because God remains in control.

Referencing passages such as John 10:15, Luke 5, and Mark 5, Apostle Appiah further noted that faith in Christ gives believers the assurance and testimony of eternal life.

He urged the congregation to remain steadfast in their walk with the Lord, adding, ‘Jesus is the way; no more wandering. In Him alone is life.’

Afram Plains For Christ Crusade Opens At Tease web

Afram Plains For Christ Crusade Opens At Tease

Waves of worship, fervent prayers, and electrifying praise filled the air at the New Market Square in Tease, Afram Plains, as the much-awaited ‘Afram Plains for Christ’ crusade officially began on Tuesday night, August 26, 2025.

The gathering drew hundreds of believers and seekers alike, all eager to encounter the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

Organised by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with the Afram Plains Area of the church, the four-day crusade is expected to attract both members of the church and non-members from across the Afram Plains and surrounding communities.

The crusade features ministrations from seasoned speakers, including Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi (General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost), Apostle Emmanuel K. Appiah (Director of the Evangelism Ministry), Prophet Victor Asante Darko (Afram Plains Area Head), Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson (Offinso Area Head), Elder Godfred Asare (El Shaddai Prayer Centre, Konongo), and Elder Seth Peasah (NEC Member of the Evangelism Ministry and Leader of the El-Bethel Prayer Centre, Ho).

The event is also blessed with song ministrations from the Afram Plains Mass Choir, Sister Joyce Effah, Elder Blessed Koduah, and Deaconess Lizzy Rockson.

The Afram Plains, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana, is one of the country’s most fertile but underserved areas.

With vast arable lands along the Afram River, a tributary of the Volta Lake, the local economy largely depends on farming and fishing. Maize, yam, cassava, and groundnuts are cultivated in abundance, while fishing sustains many families along the lakeside.

Despite its rich natural resources, the area faces development challenges due to scattered settlements and difficult terrain.

These challenges, however, make the Afram Plains a strategic focus for missionary work. Through evangelistic campaigns like ‘Afram Plains for Christ,’ The Church of Pentecost continues to extend the light of the Gospel to remote communities, offering hope and transformation through Jesus Christ.

The crusade will conclude on Saturday, August 30, 2025, with a free holistic medical screening and children’s service, offering both spiritual and physical healing to the people of the Afram Plains.

Apostle Davidson now heads to Sefwi Wiawso Area.

Apostle Davidson is remembered for his active role in the Church’s Environmental Care Campaign, which transformed communities in Offinso, and the ‘Kohinta Healing and Revival Crusades’ through which powerful testimonies were recorded across the Area.

The service was officiated by Apostle John Appiah Aidoo, Abuakwa Area Head, assisted by Prophet David Kankam Beditor, Obuasi Area Head; Apostle Victor Kwasi Asamoah, Bompata Area Head; Apostle Eric Gyambibi; Deaconess Nana Kofi Ebuna V, Chief of Essipong and member of the National Executive Committee of the Chieftaincy Ministry; pastorate, officers and members of the church. Preaching on the theme, “The Unleashing Agenda: The Healing and Miracle Component” from Acts 3:1–10, Apostle Aidoo reminded the congregation of the miraculous power in the name of Jesus, which caused the lame man at the Beautiful Gate to walk and praise God. He cautioned believers to remain vigilant in their walk with God and avoid seeking help from any other source.

“The name of Jesus has authority and power, and anytime you rise and pray in that name, there is healing and deliverance,” he said, adding, “That is your weapon as a believer. In spite of your challenges, prayer is your weapon, and the name of Jesus will empower you in every area of your life to do what seems impossible.”

He further advised members to remain committed, focused, and discerning in their associations, noting how Peter and John, once rivals in fishing, became partners in the Gospel through humility and love. He urged elders to lead prayer sessions regularly to stir revival and renewal of spiritual gifts, and called on all members to demonstrate Kingdom lifestyles that reflect Christ.

The service also featured a prayer session led by Apostles Victor Asamoah and Samuel Edzii Davidson.

Moving testimonies were read by the Women’s Ministry in honour of Mrs Winnifred Davidson, followed by testimonies from the Area Presbytery and pastorate in appreciation of Apostle Davidson’s ministry.
