Own Vision 2028 – Apostle Kwafo Charges Participants At Home Missions Conference

The National Coordinator for the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, has made a passionate call to believers to take full ownership of the Church’s flagship agenda, Vision 2028, by committing to the sacrifices necessary for its fulfillment.

He made the appeal during the opening session of the maiden Home Missions Conference, underway at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, under the theme: ‘Paying Your Price in the Vision 2028 Agenda.’

Apostle Kwafo noted that the realisation of Vision 2028, which aligns with the Church’s broader ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda, demands intentional sacrifice and personal responsibility from every member.

Quoting from Ecclesiastes 3:1–23, Acts 13:36, and Ephesians 3:10, he underscored the urgency of the moment, saying, ‘There is a time for everything, and we must act with urgency to accomplish God’s purpose for our generation. Vision 2028 has a lifespan, and we must not mark time while the opportunity passes.’

He outlined four key pillars of the theme: ‘The Charge’ – A divine call to action; ‘The Assignment’ – The specific work entrusted to each believer; ‘The Risk’ – The cost and sacrifices required;  and ‘The Reward’ – The blessings and eternal impact that follow.

Apostle Kwafo stressed that Vision 2028 is both a corporate and personal mandate. Corporately, the Church is called to actively engage in societal transformation through its ministries. Individually, every believer is expected to be an agent of change, embodying the vision in daily life and ministry, he explained.

‘Every believer must own this vision and be willing to lose something for its success—whether time, comfort, resources, or personal ambitions. Without personal investment, the vision cannot be realised,’ he stated.

Referencing Acts 13:36, he reminded participants that, like David, each person is born to fulfill God’s purpose in their generation. 

‘We will not live forever, but we must not leave this earth without fulfilling the divine mandate assigned to us. For this generation, it is Vision 2028,’ he stressed.

He further emphasised that Vision 2028 is not a human invention but a divine agenda established from the foundation of the world. Believers, he said, have been strategically positioned to contribute to its realization.

Apostle Kwafo urged Christians to minister intentionally across racial, ethnic, and social boundaries, sharing the transformative message of the Gospel with all people.

Drawing inspiration from 2 Samuel 23:8–12, he encouraged perseverance, even when it feels like few are committed.

‘At times, it may seem that only a few are pushing the vision forward, but we must press on. Whether in scarcity or abundance, with or without support, the vision must be accomplished,’ he said.

He assured the gathering that no labour in the Lord goes unrewarded, saying, ‘Whatever you sacrifice—your time, your resources, your comfort—God will repay with divine dividends. As 1 Corinthians 15:58 declares, our labour in the Lord is never in vain.’

Apostle Kwafo called on all present to embrace the urgency of the moment, act decisively, and play their part in ensuring that Vision 2028 is not only fulfilled but leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come.

The Missions Director (MD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, on behalf of the Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has officially opened the much-anticipated maiden edition of the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) Conference 2025 at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh.

The historic gathering has brought together a diverse group of participants, including ministers and presiding elders from Pentecost International Worship Centres (PIWCs) across the country, ministers and their spouses serving in the Home and Urban Missions, representatives from the Chaplaincy Ministry in Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi, members of the Ministry to Celebrities Committee, and Pastor Ing. John Angoh, the resident minister of Amsterdam City Church in The Netherlands, representing the City Churches.

As the first of its kind, the conference aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the HUM agenda and equip them to advance the Church’s Vision 2028 mandate of ‘Possessing the Nations.’

In his opening address, Apostle Agyemang Bekoe encouraged all attendees to fully engage in every session and activity, emphasizing that their presence was divinely orchestrated for a greater purpose.

‘Take part and take charge, for God has a clear reason for assembling us here,’ he declared, adding, ‘The Lord is set to use this conference as a launching pad to equip us for greater exploits in our churches, communities, and beyond.’

The three-day conference, which began on July 10, 2025, will conclude on July 12. It features a range of workshops, prayer sessions, and strategic discussions designed to empower participants to pursue the Home and Urban Missions agenda with renewed passion and commitment.

Leadership of the church believes the conference will serve as a catalyst for reaching marginalised and unreached people groups in urban and peri-urban settings, in alignment with the church’s broader missional vision.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi Appointed Chairman Of Prisons Service Council

Immediate-past General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle (Ing.) Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has been appointed Chairman of the Prisons Service Council by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

The newly constituted Council was officially inaugurated by the Interior Minister, Hon. Mohammed-Mubarak, at a brief ceremony held on July 9, 2025, in Accra, with a charge to lead a transformative agenda across Ghana’s correctional system.

In his address, Hon. Mohammed-Mubarak emphasised that the Council’s work must reflect the Government’s broader commitment to reforming and rehabilitating the nation’s prisons, with a focus on human dignity and reintegration.

“With a renewed focus on staff and inmate welfare, agriculture, industrialisation, and digitalisation, I urge you to provide strategic oversight, strengthen accountability, and champion bold and compassionate leadership,” he said.

Following the inauguration, Apostle Kumi-Larbi expressed the members’ deep sense of duty to serve and said the Council would prioritise efforts to decongest Ghana’s overcrowded prisons and enhance living conditions for inmates.

He noted that the Council would adopt a holistic, reform-driven approach that ensures prisoners are not merely punished, but given opportunities to reintegrate into society as reformed individuals.

“The prison system should mirror our society and become centres for transformation and reformation,” he said.

The Prisons Service Council of Ghana is a constitutional body with broad oversight and advisory responsibilities under Articles 206–208 of the 1992 Constitution.

The Council is responsible for advising the President on policies relating to the organization, administration, and welfare of the Ghana Prisons Service.

Its functions include regulating service conditions, overseeing the appointment and promotion of senior officers, and ensuring humane treatment and rehabilitation of inmates.

The Council also has the authority to enact regulations, monitor prison conditions, and coordinate with regional committees and stakeholders to drive reforms, improve infrastructure, and promote prisoner reintegration into society.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi, who currently serves as the Ashaiman Area Head and an Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, brings to the role a wealth of leadership experience and a strong advocacy background in social transformation and restorative justice.

Additionally, this new appointment closely aligns with The Church of Pentecost’s ongoing commitment to prison reform, particularly through its construction of modern correctional facilities such as the Ejura and the Nsawam Reformation Centres.

Other members of the newly constituted Council include Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Director-General, Ghana Prisons Service), Prof. Ernest Yorke, Mr. Aurelius Dzidorm Marcus Awuku, Mrs. Frances Naana Mullen Ansah, Dr. Prince Boamah, Rev. Prince Kojo Asare, Head of News and Head of Events at the Pent Media Centre, the official media outlet of The Church of Pentecost, has been selected to join the highly competitive 2025–2026 CNN Academy Programme.

He was chosen from a global pool of over 10,000 applicants spanning 129 countries.

In an official statement, Mr. Asare expressed his excitement about the opportunity: “This marks the beginning of an exciting learning journey, and I look forward to gaining new insights, sharpening my storytelling skills, and connecting with fellow journalists from around the world.”

The CNN Academy Programme, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is a global initiative aimed at nurturing emerging journalism talent and equipping them with the tools to identify compelling stories and tell them with impact. Participants are enrolled in a 12-course e-learning curriculum delivered via the CNN Academy Hub, with monthly modules covering essential journalistic disciplines.

These include visual and audio storytelling, fact-checking, mobile journalism, deadline and newsroom management, breaking news coordination, and interviewing techniques. Graduates of the online programme will have the opportunity to pitch a story idea, and selected participants will travel to Abu Dhabi in November 2025 for the immersive CNN Academy Simulation Week, a real-time newsroom experience mentored by CNN experts.

Since its inception in 2023, the CNN Academy has provided training for over 139 individuals from 30 institutions through its Abu Dhabi-based initiatives. This year’s cohort includes recent graduates and final-year undergraduates with a demonstrated passion for journalism and storytelling.

Participants will also benefit from masterclasses delivered by renowned international media professionals and creative leaders, with past topics including Artificial Intelligence in Journalism, Cybersecurity, and Climate Storytelling.

Apostle Eric Gyambibi Boateng, the National Head for The Church of Pentecost (CoP) in Rwanda, has described Church services as sacred appointments with God, urging Christians to be punctual and actively participate until the end.

He made this remark during a Communion Service with the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), New Tafo Area, on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Speaking on “Rules of Conduct For Members of The Church of Pentecost,” Apostle Gyambibi explained that these guidelines are meant to help members live worthy of their calling as God’s children and grow into the fullness of Christ.

Emphasising the rule ‘Be in your seat in good time before the commencement of service and participate fully in every aspect,’ Apostle Gyambibi stressed the need for Christians, especially CoP members, to prioritise punctuality to church services and approach them with reverence and commitment, as God expects His people to show up faithfully.

“Church service is an appointment with God. Just as you would not casually miss an important meeting with someone significant, so you should not take church service lightly, for it is an appointment with the Most High God,” he said.

Apostle Gyambibi Boateng also highlighted other rules of conduct, including setting aside a period daily for personal quiet time in prayer and meditation on the Word (Matthew 6:6; Ephesians 6:18-20), and adequately preparing oneself through prayer and meditation before coming to the house of God (Hebrews 4:15-16).

Among the dignitaries present at the service were Pastor Ernest Wisdom and Mrs. Stella Worlanyo (Resident Minister, PIWC, New Tafo), Mrs. Victoria Tetteh Doku (Wife of the New Tafo Area Head), and Mrs. Vivian Gyambibi Boateng.

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches (GPCC), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has called on Christians to reflect their divine identity through godly conduct in every aspect of life.

Speaking during a communion service on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Abeka Central Assembly, Apostle Nyamekye provided an in-depth explanation of the Church’s established Rules of Conduct, asserting that members of the church are part of God’s household, redeemed and sanctified by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Quoting 1 Timothy 3:14–15, he urged believers to live in a way that draws others to Christ, stating, ‘We should conduct ourselves so that outsiders will want to join the family of God.’

He added:‘Everyone born again is bought by His blood. As members of this household, our conduct must reflect that holy heritage.’

Apostle Nyamekye outlined key areas of Christian conduct, beginning with personal devotion. He encouraged members to set aside daily time for prayer and meditation on the Word, referencing Psalm 1:1–2.

On corporate worship, he advised believers to prepare spiritually through fasting, especially on Fridays and birthdays, and be punctual at church, stating, ’If you arrive in church late, do not greet others; sit quietly and prepare your heart.’

Addressing family life, he reminded parents of their duty to raise children in the fear of the Lord, citing Joshua 24:15. He also encouraged members to support their pastors as both leaders and friends.

On communal living, Apostle Nyamekye urged believers to treat the church as their spiritual home, love one another, and avoid gossip or disrespectful speech. 

He also spoke on worship etiquette, encouraging reverence, attentiveness, and heartfelt praise. 

Touching on sexual ethics, he quoted Hebrews 13:4, affirming the importance of chastity and marital fidelity. He also called for integrity in business, urging members to avoid dishonest practices and harmful substances like alcohol, cigarettes, and narcotics (Proverbs 21:6).

‘Be the best father, mother, teacher, student, and be exemplary everywhere you go,’ he charged members of the church.

Also present at the service were Mrs Mary Nyamekye, wife of the Chairman; Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, Executive Council Member and Kaneshie Area Head, with his wife Elizabeth; Pastor Paul Danso of the Abeka District, among others.

Elder Eric Kofi Sam, Chief Executive Officer of Erpreben Travel & Tour, has donated two air-conditioners valued at GHS 10,000.00 to the Kwabenya Old Town District in the Haatso Area of The Church of Pentecost in support of its ongoing Mission House project.

The donation was presented today, July 3, 2025, during a brief ceremony at his office in Accra.

According to Elder Kofi Sam, he was informed about the near-completion of the project by the District Minister, Pastor William Amponsah Asiamah, who is also a close friend. He felt moved to contribute by providing air-conditioners to help furnish the new Mission House.

Receiving the items on behalf of the church, Pastor Amponsah Asiamah expressed heartfelt appreciation to Elder Sam for his generous and consistent support for Kingdom-related projects. He also prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him.

Also present at the presentation ceremony was the District Secretary, Elder Emmanuel Nti.

The Kwabenya Old Town District Mission House is scheduled to be dedicated on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

The Abelenkpe District of The Church of Pentecost, under the La Area, has donated a brand-new Apsonic tricycle (commonly known as Aboboyaa) valued at GHC 30,000 to the Bator District in the Sogakope Area. The donation is aimed at supporting the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the district.

The presentation ceremony took place on June 5, 2025, at the La Area office, where the La Area Head, Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, officially handed over the tricycle to the Bator District Minister, Pastor Emmanuel Antara. Also present were Apostle Kingsley Addai, Resident Minister of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Accra, and a cross-section of the area pastorate.

Speaking to Pent News, Pastor Mark Mohammed Alhassan of the Abelenkpe District recounted an experience during the funeral of the late Elder Emmanuel Wetta in Bator. He noted that Pastor Antara had to rely on a commercial motorcycle (Okada) to reach one of the local assemblies due to lack of transportation. This situation prompted some officers from the Abelenkpe District to consider donating a motorbike.

However, Pastor Antara humbly requested a tricycle instead, explaining that it would not only serve his transportation needs but also help convey other members who lacked access to transport. Inspired by this selfless request, Elder Dr Kofi Annor Adu generously donated the tricycle to the La Area for onward presentation to the Bator District.

In his response, Pastor Emmanuel Antara expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the La Area and all who contributed to the gesture. He emphasised how instrumental the tricycle would be in advancing their evangelistic efforts.

4 Church Buildings Dedicated In Asesewa District

The Asesewa District of The Church of Pentecost, under the Agormanya Area, has recorded a significant milestone in its infrastructure development with the dedication of four newly completed church buildings.

The dedication ceremony, which took place on Sunday, June 29, 2025, was led by Apostle Dr. Samuel K. Gakpetor, Agormanya Area Head. The four local assemblies—Akhia, Brepaw, Sisiamang No. 1, and Aworworso Sisi—were dedicated in a single event marked by vibrant worship, thanksgiving, and a deep sense of spiritual and physical growth.

A standout moment during the event was the recognition of Deaconess Viva Bentil Owusu, a UK-based widow and mother of four, who personally financed the construction of the Akohia Assembly church building. She contributed GH¢68,685.00 toward the total cost of GH¢83,560.00 and further donated 70 plastic chairs worth GH¢8,500.00 to the assembly.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deaconess Owusu encouraged believers not to wait for abundance before contributing to the work of God.

The other church building projects were also significant in cost: Brepaw Assembly at GH¢71,122.00, Sisiamang No. 1 at GH¢98,555.00, and Aworworso Sisi at GH¢66,000.00.

The Sisiamang No. 1 project was supported under the Church’s Community-Based Church Building (CBCB) initiative, while the Brepaw and Aworworso Sisi assemblies were funded locally through contributions at the local, district, and area levels.

The event was attended by several dignitaries including members of the pastorate from the Upper Krobo Zone, Area Women’s Ministry Leaders (past and present), and the family and supporters of Deaconess Owusu, all of whom joined in celebrating the growth of the church in the district.

Preaching the sermon at the dedication, Pastor Eddie Sarpong, Area Secretary and Akateng District Minister, spoke on the theme “Living as a Spiritual House,” drawing from 1 Peter 2:1-6, 2 Corinthians 2:17, and Acts 2:42-45.

He emphasised holiness, character transformation, and the responsibility of every believer to live a life that reflects Christ, who is the builder of our lives.

He concluded by urging members to boldly share the gospel of Christ wherever they go, in line with the Church’s evangelistic mandate.

Other dignitaries present were Apostle Dr. Samuel Gakpetor and his wife, Mrs. Grace Gakpetor; Pastor Isaac Owusu Gyebi (Asesewa District Minister) and his wife, Mrs. Regina Gyebi; and former Asesewa District Minister, Pastor George Owusu and Mrs. Janet Owusu.

The newly constructed Redemption Assembly church building in the Yennyawoso District of the New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost has been officially dedicated to the glory of God.

The beautiful edifice with a gallery, which boasts a seating capacity of 1,500, offices, children’s auditorium, and modern restroom facilities, was constructed at a total cost of GHS 2,025,364.00. It was funded by grants from the Headquarters and the Area, as well as offerings from the local assembly and individuals’ contributions.

The dedication ceremony, held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, was officiated by the Area Head, Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku. He was supported by the District Minister, Pastor Maxwell Adubofour Asiedu, and other ministers and their spouses in the Area.

Prophet Tetteh Doku, speaking on “Building According To Biblical Pattern,” referenced 1 Corinthians 3:9-15 and 1 Peter 1:5-9, emphasising Jesus Christ as the Church’s foundation, built on righteousness, justice, love, hope, and faith.

He stressed the need for effective planning and effort, as every work will be tested by fire to determine its endurance, urging the use of qualities like good character, spiritual understanding, discipline, patience, godliness, friendliness, and love as building materials.

Prophet Tetteh Doku reminded the congregation of their status as God’s temple, encouraging them to maintain its strength and beauty through constant Bible study, fasting, prayer, upholding truthfulness, righteousness, salvation, and steadfast faith. He concluded by cautioning against destroying God’s temple with unchristian behaviour.

The event was attended by distinguished personalities, including Mrs. Joana Adubofourh Asiedu (District Minister’s wife), Elder Philip Kwaku Boateng (Presiding Elder), Elder Akwasi Acheampong (Area Account), Elder Frank Dzokpe (Area Project Officer), Mrs. Agnes Adu-Amankwaah (Retd), Hon. Patrick Frimpong (Assembly Member, Krofrom Electoral Area), among others.
