The chiefs and people of Lungu South, near Bongo in the Upper East Region, have commended The Church of Pentecost for putting up a beautiful church building for the people of the community to worship God.

The chief of the community, Naba Amunga-Lungu, together with the Bolgatanga Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle David Amankwaa, on June 7, 2024, cut the tape to commission the Community-Based Church Building (CBCB) at the cost GHS 105,000.00.

Naba Amunga-Lungu seized the opportunity to appeal to the Area Head and the leadership of The Church of Pentecost to release funds for another church building to be constructed on a piece of land he has donated to the church around the palace so that he and his family members and kinsmen can have a nice place to worship God.

The Lungu South assembly in the Bongo District of the Bolgatanga Area of The Church of Pentecost was opened 23 years ago, thus in 2001 during the tenure of the late Pastor David Azagisiya. The members initially fellowshipped at the Father Lebel Memorial R/C Primary School, with Brother Francis Amogre Atinga (now a pastor in charge of the Bukere District in the Bolgatanga Area) as its first presiding officer.

The assembly grew in membership under the following district ministers – the late Pastor David Azagisiya, Pastor Fred Obboh, Pastor Thomas Anane, Pastor Peter Blood Asante Afful and currently, Pastor Evans Kwasi Bawomia, with the following as the presiding officers – Francis Amogre Atinga (now a pastor), Elder Isaac Abongo Adongo, Elder James Atanga and Elder Titus Amogre.

The construction of the church building began in 2018 during the tenure of Pastor Peter Blood Asante Afful, when a CBCB grant was released by the Headquarters. The land for the church building was donated by the Amogre-Atinga’s family of Lungu.

Work went on smoothly until the funds were exhausted, thereby stalling the project. In 2019, the district under the current minister, Pastor Bawomia, secured grants from the Bolgatanga Area while the assembly raised funds to complete the project.

The Axim Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Daniel Mireku-Gyamera, has dedicated the newly constructed church auditoriums of the Ezilinbo and Ekpanyisuazo Assemblies in the Bonyere and Tikobo No. 1 districts of the Church, respectively.

The separate dedication services took place on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

The Ezilinbo Assembly auditorium, which cost GHS 143,000.00, was funded by national, area, and district grants, along with local assembly and individual contributions.

It is worthy to mention that Elder Robert and Mrs. Regina Andoh, both members of the church and natives of Ezilinbo but based in the United States of America, made a massive contribution of GHS 73,000.00 towards the construction of the auditorium.

Preaching on the topic “A Dedicated Church is an Unleashing Centre for Transformation” at the event, Pastor Yeboah Koranteng Jnr., the Nsien District Minister, admonished the members to see the church as a place where love, self-control, and morality are taught and practiced.

He stressed that a dedicated church is a place of prayer and power, a hospital, and not a mortuary.

He added that members should see themselves as mobile churches who will aggressively embark on all forms of outreach, converting and transforming their society.

Apostle Daniel Mireku-Gyamera, in his remarks, thanked and blessed Elder Robert and Mrs. Andoh for their sacrificial giving towards the construction of the building.

He encouraged members to emulate such an act, stressing that The Church of Pentecost was birthed, nurtured, and continues to spread through sacrificial giving.

In attendance were Mrs. Evelyn Selasi Mireku-Gyamera (wife of the Area Head), the area pastorate and their wives. Also present were General Augustine Peter Blay (former Chief of Defence Staff), Nana Kroah IV (Chief of Ezilinbo Community), as well as a delegation from the Jomoro Constituency and other churches.

The Ekpanyisuazo Assembly church building, constructed at a total cost of GHS 80,264.00, was largely funded through the GHS 40,000.00 grant received through the Community Based Church Building (CBCB) initiative of the Church’s Headquarters. The rest of the funds were generated through the area, district, local assembly, and individual contributions.

The most spectacular aspect of the dedication ceremony came when a sister and one of the elders of the Chief of Ekpanyisuazo, who had accompanied him to the event, responded to an altar call by Apostle Daniel Mireku-Gyamera and were led to give their lives to Jesus Christ.

The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Tema has made a heartwarming donation in support of the church’s missions’ enterprise.

In a short ceremony, the Missions Committee of the PIWC Tema, presented two brand new tricycles worth GH₵ 45,000.00 to aid the spread of the gospel in two internal missions areas in Ghana.

Handing over the tricycles, Pastor Samuel Kwaku Koomson, the Resident Minister of PIWC Tema, reiterated their commitment to ensure the efficient and effective propagation of the gospel message.

He was optimistic that the donation will contribute greatly to the progress of the missions work in the beneficiary districts – Gbantogo District in Bawku Area and the Kwakuanya District in Dormaa Area.

The District Missions Committee Chairman, Elder Benjamin Amo Mensah, on his part, revealed plans of the district to provide a mechanised borehole for Afianyadeba District (a newly created district) in the Tema Area.

Over the years, the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC)-Tema has supported missions work in various forms, including drilling of boreholes and the donation of outboard motors to less privileged communities in the country.

The Church of Pentecost in China has supported the International Missions Office of the Church with five electric generators for the advancement of the gospel in Guinea Bissau.

Donating the generators on behalf of the church in China, Pastor Paul Agyemang, the National Head for China, reiterated their commitment to the missions work through donations in various forms and sorts.

The five generators which comprised one 10kv and four 5Kv generators were received on behalf of the International Missions Director (IMD) by Pastor James Kusi Owusu (Personal Assistant to the IMD) who expressed the Mission Office’s appreciation to the team.  

Pastor Seth Attah Bafour, the Guinea Bissau National Head, who received the items expressed his gratitude to the church in China for coming to their aid in their quest to reach out to lost souls amidst limited power supply.

He was hopeful that the generators will go a long way to help them spread the gospel and hold services to the glory of God.

Diamond City Worship Centre in the Kasoa Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated a brand new motorbike to the Jema Nkwanta District in the Kintampo Area.

The donation, facilitated through the Missions Directorate of the Church, took place on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) following the closing session of the 18th Extraordinary Council Meeting.

In a gesture aimed at supporting missions work and addressing transportation needs within the district, Apostle James Kwabena Asare, the Kasoa Area Head, presented the keys and documents on behalf of the Diamond City Worship Centre.

Apostle Francis Agyemang Badu, the Kintampo Area Head, graciously accepted the donation on behalf of the Jema Nkwanta District. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kasoa Area leadership, the District Minister, and the entire presbytery of Diamond City Worship Centre for their benevolent contribution. He pledged to ensure the motorbike’s maintenance and dedicated use for advancing the kingdom’s mission within the district.

Pastor Dr. Emmanuel Awudi, a lecturer at Pentecost University and Resident Minister of Diamond City Worship Centre, conveyed their joy in assisting with missions work. He expressed gratitude to his fellow officers who readily embraced the opportunity to acquire the motorbike.

Pastor Prince Augustine Ababio, the District Minister of Jema Nkwanta, acknowledged the timely nature of the donation, emphasising its significant impact in overcoming financial constraints.

He assured all present that the motorbike would be utilised exclusively for its intended purpose, benefiting the district immensely.

Representing the International Missions Director (IMD), Pastor James Kusi Owusu, the IMD’s Personal Assistant, extended gratitude to all involved and encouraged others to follow suit in supporting mission endeavours.

Among those present were some Elders from the Diamond City Worship Centre.

The Akan Assembly of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Odorkor, and the Odorkor Area have demonstrated its commitment to global missions through significant donations.

The Odorkor Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Isaac Tetteh Juddah, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, led the delegation to present $5,000 USD to the International Missions Office during the 18th Session of the Extraordinary Council Meetings of the Church, held at PCC, Gomoa Fetteh.

The Odorkor Area raised the amount during this year’s McKeown Missions Week. Countries to benefit from the donation include Zimbabwe, Uganda, Lesotho, Cape Verde and Tanzania, with each receiving $1,000 USD to support various mission initiatives. Additionally, the PIWC Odorkor Akan assembly generously donated a brand-new tricycle to the Walewale Area.

The Odorkor Area also provided 50 pieces of wax print fabric, 30 of which were given to Zimbabwe, 10 to Lesotho, and 10 to Cape Verde.

Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, the International Missions Director (IMD) of the Church, who received the donation, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Akan assembly for their benevolence.

He assured them that the donations would significantly impact the mission areas, furthering the Church’s global outreach efforts.

Present at the donation were Pastor James Kusi (Personal Assistant to the IMD) and Pastor Kwame Apeakese Pipim (Resident Minister, PIWC Odorkor)

The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Konongo in the Ashanti Region has made a significant contribution to mission work with the donation of two brand new Hadjin Motorbikes and two Rechargeable Speakers to the International Missions Office.

The items, valued at GHS 28,400, was made on Thursday, May 2, 2024, on the sidelines of the 18th Session of the Extraordinary Council Meeting of The Church of Pentecost at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh.

The Walewale and Wa Areas in Ghana are set to receive the motorbikes, while the speakers will be sent to Cameroon and Zambia.

Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, the International Missions Director (IMD), received the items on behalf of the Missions Office. He expressed his gratitude to the PIWC Konongo for their generous donation, noting that it will significantly aid missions work in the beneficiary areas and countries.

Present at the donation ceremony were Apostle Daniel Owusu-Akyaw (Konongo Area Head), Pastor Edmund Mawunyo Duvor (Resident Minister of PIWC Konongo), Pastor James Kusi (Personal Assistant to the IMD) and some officers from PIWC Konongo.

Apostle Sundaram James Raj, the National Head of The Church of Pentecost in India, has underscored the power that God has clothed the Church with to take up kingdoms of the world and turn them to Christ.

Speaking at the Heads’ Session of the 18^th Extraordinary Council Meetings of The Church of Pentecost on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, Apostle Raj challenged the Church to rise and take up its rightful position as ordained by God to bring down kingdoms that oppose the will of God.

Quoting from Mark 1;15, Luke 11:20; 17:31; 12:32; Isaiah 41:14; Acts 1:6-8, and 2 Corinthians 4:4, among other scriptures, he noted that God has called believers from every part of the world to form a formidable force called the Church to champion the kingdom of God on earth.

He indicated that possessing the nations for Christ it does not matter the country a believer is domiciled in, because people everywhere are the same (all children of God). Rather, he said, God has placed people at specific countries, ‘knowing what you can do where you are in promoting His kingdom.’

According to him, the ruling party of this world is the kingdom of God which has authority over all things.

He disclosed that God has the ultimate authority, and He has given same power to the Church to take dominion of the kingdom of darkness and rule the world.

‘Our focus should be on the Church because that is the kingdom of God. We should pray for God to use the Church mightily so that we can promote the kingdom of God,’ he said.

Apostle James Raj, however, bemoaned that the Church today sometimes appears to be weak and afraid to assert its power due to fear of persecution.

‘The ultimate authority is in the hands of God. The Church is not to fear the world, but rather the world is to fear the Church. The Church should arise because you have the power, the authority, and the anointing to possess the nations,’ he declared.
