CoP-Liberia Holds National Prayer Summit

A national prayer summit is underway in Clara Town – Monrovia, Liberia at The Church of Pentecost, FD Walker Temple.

The prayer summit is an annual event organized by The Church of Pentecost – Liberia. This year’s summit is the fifth since the return of the national head, Apostle Massaboi Zuwu, to Liberia.

Over five hundred officers including national executives, all seven area heads, elders, deacons and deaconesses are attending the summit, which was officially opened on Monday by the National Head of the church in Liberia, Apostle Massaboi Zuwu.

Speaking on the theme: “Equipping the church as an army to possess the nations”, Apostle Zuwu underscored the need for the officers of the church to play their respective roles in equipping the church to possess the nations.

“The Church is an equipping centre and therefore our task is to equip the church for the work of the ministry. Everyone has a role to play,” he said.

Apostle Zuwu posited that “the church is not a place where we come for entertainment, show our fashion or compete with one another but, a place to be equipped, trained and empowered to influence society with values and principles of the kingdom of God”.

The national supernatural prayer summit will also see the launch of a PIWC multi-purpose project and the sod-cutting for a Pentecost Convention Centre project.  The weeklong summit is expected to end on Sunday January 30, 2022

IMD Ends 3-Day Working Visit To The Netherlands

The International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, paid a three-day working visit to the Church in the Netherlands from Friday, December 10 to Sunday, December 12, 2021.

The IMD, who was accompanied by Apostle Daniel Ato Eduah (the National Head of Germany) and Mrs. Deborah Agyemang Bekoe (Wife of the IMD), was warmly received on arrival by the leadership of the Church led by Pastor John Otchere (the Acting National Head).

Apostle Agyemang Bekoe officially began his visit with a meeting with ministers and wives of the Church, where he encouraged them to have the mind of Christ in order to flourish in ministry.

The couple also fellowshipped with members of the three Amsterdam Intra-City districts at a joint “Christmas Convention” service. He exhorted the congregants on the topic: “There Should Be a Performance” based on Luke 2:10. In his sermon, he stressed that every gathering of God’s people should not be just about listening to sermons, praying, and dancing, but an opportunity to experience God’s dynamic and supernatural performance in the lives of the people.

On the second day of his visit, the IMD held separate meetings with the National Executive and Finance Board committees as well as the National Presbytery. He commended them for the good work and encouraged them to seek a higher level of anointing through dedication to God’s word, praying, fasting and a consecrated life. In this way, the members would experience the manifest-presence of God in every service, he further noted.

Apostle Agyemang Bekoe joined members of the Pentecost International Worship Centre, Amsterdam (PIWC-Amsterdam) on the third day of his visit to climax this year’s Christmas Conventions.

Delivering a message titled “God’s Love” with John 3:16 as a Bible reference, the IMD said that God is bent on reconciling the world to Himself to a great extent that He readily gave up His only Son, Jesus, for its sake. He further stated that this act in itself demonstrates God’s wonderful love for the world; for this reason, every Christian must be equally interested in “possessing the nations” for the Lord.

The IMD and his wife have since returned to Ghana following a successful duty trip. To God be the Glory.

Have The Mind Of Christ – IMD Tells Ministers

The International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, has advised ministers to have the mind of Christ in order to surmount prevailing challenges and excel in ministry.

The IMD said this on Friday, December 10, 2021, during a meeting with ministers and wives of the Church in The Netherlands as part of his three-day working visit to the country with Apostle Daniel Ato Eduah (the National Head of Germany) and his wife, Mrs. Deborah Agyemang Bekoe.

Speaking on the topic: “The Minister Must Have the Mind of Christ” with Philippians 2:5-10 as his key scriptural reference, Apostle Agyemang Bekoe said that the call into full-time ministry was predestined by God and that God had prepared the ministers in advance to reveal His mysterious mind to His people.

He, however, said that it takes the consistent study of God’s word, prayer and holy living for one have a daily revelation of the mind of Christ.

Quoting from 2 Corinthians 10:12, he advised the ministers to avoid unnecessary comparisons with others as this could hinder their ability to receive from the Lord and flourish in ministry.

“Avoid comparing and measuring yourselves by status, education, gifts, association etc. These are signs of pride, self-centeredness and self-dependency on the part of the minister. and are considered pitfalls in ministry,” he warned.

The IMD, therefore, encouraged them to emulate Christ, who cultivated the spirit of oneness with the Father but not equality.

“Oneness is unity, humility, self-emptiness which allows the infilling the spirit for daily revelation of God’s his mind. It is by this the minister would be exalted in his ministry and receive an unfading crown of eternal glory,” he said.

Apostle and Mrs. Agyemang Bekoe ended their duty visit to The Netherlands on Sunday, December 12, having fellowshipped with the three Amsterdam Intra-City districts and the Pentecost International Worship Centre, Amsterdam (PIWC-Amsterdam).

The amount was presented to the Missions Office on Wednesday, December 15, on behalf of the Area by the New Takoradi District Minister, Pastor Solomon Nii Ashaley Djani, during a short presentation ceremony at the General Headquarters at La in Accra.

In addition to the amount, the Area donated a motor bicycle, a 32-channel mixer, a Behringer 6-channel mixer, 73 half-piece clothes, 10 pairs of men trousers, eight pairs of ladies’ shoes, six pairs of men’s shirts, three ladies’ suits and 12 men’s suits.

The donation was realised during the weeklong ‘Missions Promotion’ exercise undertaken by the National Head, Apostle Semenya Dogbe, and his wife, Rosina, in some districts of the area.

Apostle and Mrs. Dogbe arrived in the Takoradi Area on Monday, December 6, and were received and hosted by the Area Head, Apostle Joseph Assabil, and the Area Missions Committee.

The couple ended their promotion exercise on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, after paying separate visits to the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC-Takoradi), Adientem District, New Takoradi District, New Site District and Takoradi District.

Once every three years, missionaries of the Church are granted a furlough (leave of absence) to return to their home country for a period not exceeding three months. As part of their stay, they are encouraged to undertake ‘Mission Promotion’ exercises, where they educate the church public about missions work and promote missions activities to raise funds and mobilise the needed support for missions.

Among other things, the furlough allows missionaries to relax, undergo medical checkups, and reconnect with their families and friends.

HEADS MEET

Missions Office Organises Seminar For National Heads

The International Missions Office has organised a training programme for national heads in the external branches of The Church of Pentecost on the back of the recently-held November Heads’ Meeting.

The event, which is in fulfilment of the Church’s Vision 2023, was held yesterday at the Pentecost Pension House, Gbawe, under the theme: “A Missionary Revived To Possess The Nations” (Ephesians 5:27; Ephesians 3:10).

The main facilitators for the event were the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the General Secretary, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, and the International Missions Director (IMD), Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe.

Other facilitators were the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) Director and Executive Council Member of the Church, Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, and the Finance and Administration Director (FAD), Apostle Lawrence Otu Nyarko.

In his closing address, Apostle Eric Nyamekye advised participants to endeavour to apply all that they had received at the event.

He urged them to emulate Apostle Paul’s unreserved determination to serve the Lord and to commit themselves to the work of God even at the peril of their lives.

“It is a choice to serve the Lord. So, go all out for Christ!” the Chairman charged.

He also encouraged the missionaries to keep working wholeheartedly for the Lord and trust Him to cater to their needs.

In his presentation, Apostle Kumi-Larbi advised the participants to familiarise themselves with the policies of the Church and strive to uphold them. He noted that as National Heads they must act as role models to officers and members of the Church in adhering to the financial policies of the Church.

According to Apostle Agyemang Bekoe, the seminar was organised for capacity-building purposes and to provide missionaries an avenue to engage the leadership of the Church on issues that are peculiar to their respective nations.

Some of the topics handled at the event were “Knowing & Implementing Church Policies,” “Financial Issues of Concern,” “New Mission Trends,” and “Missions Perspective Document.”

Spiritual Gifts A Game-Changer In Christian Evangelism – IMD

The International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, has stressed the importance of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the propagation of the gospel in contemporary times.

According to him, the nine charismatic gifts – Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Discerning of Spirit, Prophecy, Speaking in different kinds of tongues, Interpretation of tongues, Faith, Working of miracles and Gifts of healing – are a ‘game-changer’ in the Church’s effort to evangelise the world and ‘possess’ nations.

The IMD said this last Friday when he joined participants of the Ashaiman/Tema Zone for the final day of the Evangelism Conference (EVACON).

Speaking on the topic ‘Spiritual Gifts’ based on 1 Corinthians 12, Apostle Bekoe mentioned that there are three main models in Christian evangelism. He said the first is the ‘Jesus-Samaritan Woman’ model (John 4), where the evangelist proclaims the gospel on a person-to-person basis, otherwise known as Personal Evangelism or Witnessing. The second, he noted, is the ‘Day of Pentecost’ model (Acts 2:1-42), where the evangelist proclaims the gospel to a crowd, also known as Mass Evangelism.

He further revealed that the ‘Spiritual Gifts’ model, which is the third approach, is where believers demonstrate the supernatural ability of God to unbelievers, making it easier for them to believe in the existence of the Almighty God and the testimony of His son, Jesus Christ.

Apostle Bekoe, therefore, urged Christians to constantly seek the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Church to augment their personal and mass evangelism efforts.

Inasmuch as Christians desire spiritual or charismatic gifts, the IMD also urged them to equally yearn to bear the Fruit of the Spirit (Character) since the latter helps to put the former in check.

He said: “There is a reason why the spiritual gifts and the Fruit of the Spirit are both nine in number. It is because every spiritual gift (Charisma) has a corresponding fruit (Christ-like character) to protect it from possible abuse.”

“So you cannot only possess the Charisma and not the Character. They must go together. Having one without the other is like a bird with one wing. But with both (Charisma and Character), the Church would fly and soar high!” he added.

This year’s Evangelism Conference (EVACON), which was themed “A Revived Church in an Aggressive Evangelism and Informed Intercession” (Ezekiel 37:1-10), took place from October 27 to 30, 2021 at various centres nationwide.
