The Suame Area of The Church of Pentecost on Friday, March 15, 2024, generously donated items valued at GHS 191,600.00 to support the missions enterprise of the Church.

These items included 7 motorbikes, 15 bicycles, a 5 KVA Genset, clothing, 3 rechargeable speakers, 21 bundles of used clothes, car tapes, 3 bundles of used shoes, and suits.

Apostle John Obeng Kesse, the Area Head, emphasised the importance of supporting missionaries, as missions play a crucial role in spreading the Gospel and expanding the kingdom of God. He expressed the Area’s commitment to support the propagation of the Gospel both locally and internationally.

Apostle Obeng Kesse also praised the work of both internal and external missionaries, urging them to continue their efforts, and called on other areas to offer their support. He assured that the Suame Area would work closely with the Missions Directorate of the Church to fulfil the requests of missionaries, using all available resources, including prayer.

The external branches of The Church of Pentecost in the island nations of St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, under the leadership of the National Head, Pastor Andrew Amankwaah, concluded their maiden Officers’ Retreat (Apostolisation) for the two Caribbean Islands.

Held from March 13 to 17, 2024, under the theme “A People of God Unleashed to Transform their World,” the programme allowed members from both nations to participate virtually.

Evangelist Gabriel Addo-Asante, the Internal Missions Coordinator, and Pastor Joseph Tieku, the Finance Administrative Manager, both of The Church of Pentecost Canada Inc., were invited guests who spoke on the topics “Effective Evangelism” and “Sacrificial Giving and Tithing,” respectively.

Friday, March 15, was dedicated to praying for the spiritual, numerical, and financial growth of the Churches and their members.

As part of the ongoing aggressive evangelism project, Saturday, March 16, was devoted to personal and community evangelism.

Apostle Ransford Obeng Gyamfi, the National Head of The Church of Pentecost Canada Inc., who was the guest of honour, shared fellowship with the brethren from St. Vincent and the Grenadines as well as the team of leaders in St. Lucia on Saturday morning at separate times.

The Apostolisation culminated on Sunday, March 17, 2024, where Apostle Ransford Obeng Gyamfi preached on the topic “Unleashed to Increase,” referencing Genesis 1:1-22 and John 1:14.

During his ministration, Apostle Obeng Gyamfi encouraged the members as a newly established Church to build on the foundation, which is Christ Jesus, the manifested word of God who creates and brings increase.

At the end of the service on Sunday, March 17, 2024, two brothers and two sisters were ordained as Deacons and Deaconesses of the Church in St. Lucia, respectively.

The occasion was also used to officially inaugurate the Women’s Ministry, and a soul was won as well.

In his closing remarks, Apostle Ransford Obeng Gyamfi, who was the special guest of honor and the Chairperson for the service, was full of praise to God for His faithfulness in fulfilling His covenant with the Church of Pentecost.

He also commended the resident missionary Pastor Andrew Amankwaah and his family for their obedience to the call to missions and hard work in building the Churches on the islands of St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines.

Apostle Gyamfi expressed his profound gratitude to the members of the Church, especially those who have gone out of their ways to support the work of ministry.

The President of The Church of Pentecost in La Cote D’Ivoire, Apostle Miezou Amalanon K. Ernest, has advised ministers of the gospel to prioritise the love for God in order to transform the world.

He made this call today [February 21, 2024], when he delivered an exhortation during the Missions Board end-of-year meeting held at the Pentecost Mission Transit Quarters in East Legon, Accra.

He based his message on John 21:15-17, where Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved him and commissioned him to feed his sheep.

He said that this passage shows God’s heart for the salvation of humans and his desire for his disciples to continue his work.

He, however, noted that the disciples, after the death of Jesus, went back to fishing instead of preaching the gospel.

According to him, Peter, who witnessed the miracles of Jesus, also stopped doing the work until the Lord showed him that the salvation of his people should be his first priority.

He highlighted three elements that will help Christians to be unleashed to transform the world: love, Holy Spirit and money.

He said that love for God and serving him should be the first motive and qualification for doing God’s work.

“Love should be the foundational qualification. Someone can keep long in the work of God; he may be doing it because of duty but not necessarily out of love. Love makes a difference in our service to God”, he noted.

Apostle Miezou Amalanon also urged believers to cultivate the love for the lost souls and the people to whom we have been sent as missionaries, adding; “Love is the mother of every virtue. If we love the Lord and the people to whom we have been sent, we will do the work in virtue.”

According to him, Christians need the Holy Spirit to impact the world and that his presence is very necessary for us because he is the instigator of God’s word.

“Even though the disciples faced threats and persecution, they still preached the gospel because they were filled with the Holy Spirit and with love. If the Holy Spirit is with us and his anointing is with us and the love for the work is still in us, we can go and turn the world upside down as Paul and his people did”, he revealed.

The President of the Church in La Cote D’Ivoire said that we need to give our money to do the work of God and that we are fund managers for God’s work.

“We need to invest in God’s work. We are fund managers for God’s work. This is important to be able to push the work of God,” he said.

He quoted Matthew 6:19-21, where Jesus taught us not to store up treasures on earth but in heaven, and that where our treasure is, there our heart will be also.

PENTECOST NEWS.

The New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost has presented some items worth GHS 30,000.00 to the Atebubu Area in support of the missions enterprise of the Church.

The donation was done on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the New Tafo Area Office, where Apsonic motorbike, two bicycles, professional speakers and a mixer, bags of secondhand clothing, ladies and gents’ footwears were presented to the Atebubu Area Head, Apostle Isaac Amartey Anim.

Presenting the items, the New Tafo Area Head, Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku, explained that as people of God unleashed to transform their world, it is always incumbent on the Church to support mission areas to fulfil its soul winning mandate, believing and trusting that God will use those people to change the world.

According to him, supporting the work of missionaries is the task of every member of the Church, as one’s contribution makes them a part of spreading the Gospel among the nations for salvation.

He enlightened that offering to missions is the biblical model of expansion of the kingdom of God, and it requires huge investment, hence the Area’s commitment in helping fulfil the mandate.

The Area Head further encouraged individuals, locals, Districts and Areas of The Church of Pentecost to uphold missionary support to rescue the perishing.

Acknowledging the kind gesture by the New Tafo Area, Apostle Isaac Amartey Anim (Atebubu Area Head), expressed sincere thanks to missions devotees and encouraged them to keep up the good works they have been doing for their efforts will never go unrewarded.

Present at the short presentation ceremony was a cross-section of the New Tafo Area pastorate.

The annual fasting and prayer programme of the Watford City Church of The Church of Pentecost in the United Kingdom, dubbed “Ascend,” took place at the Oakwood Outdoor Centre in Wokingham.

ASCEND is a time of spiritual deepening and awakening, where members wait on the Lord and seek His strength to be unleashed into the world.

This year’s edition, held from August 25 to 28, 2023, was themed “I Am the One” (Acts 10:21) and featured various speakers, including Pastor Godfred Boadi (PIWC-Southampton), Overseer Gerald Gyane (PIWC Salem Resident Minister), Elder Daniel Agyemang Bofah (Presiding Elder, Watford City Church), Elder Michael Chintoh, Deacon Hubert, Sister Tina Ayiku, and Sister Joan Boadi.

Some of the topics covered during the event included “The Posture of the One,” “the Price of the One,” and “The Transformation.”

The programme welcomed over 50 participants of diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds who eagerly sought God’s grace to fulfill their mission. Some also participated virtually.

The event featured seasoned musicians such as Deaconess Lukala Munalula, Minister Jacy Mai, Minister Godley Abel, Debbie Adesiyan, Deaconess Leona Agyemang, and other musicians who filled the atmosphere with worship.

On Saturday afternoon, a special baptism service saw three brothers and a sister undergoing water baptism, including Brother Gellian, a Portuguese national popularly known as “Kwame Grills.”

In the evening, participants enjoyed a special bonfire night in anticipation of the official closing the following day.

During the closing session, Overseer Gerald Gyane encouraged participants to be fruitful and contribute to making the world a better place, asking, “How will you taste when the world takes a bite of you?”

This year’s event was unprecedented as it featured continuous nights of prayer, days of fasting, Holy Ghost empowerment, water baptism, fellowship, games, and other entertaining activities.

The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PWC) in the Anyaa-Ablekuma Area of The Church of Pentecost has demonstrated exceptional generosity by donating essential items worth GHȼ27,000.00 to support two internal mission districts in the Kintampo Area of the Church.

The donation, which includes rechargeable speakers, speaker horns, bicycles, plastic chairs, and clothing items, aims to enhance the Church’s outreach efforts and improve the lives of the local community in the Zabrama and Ntankoro Districts of the Kintampo Area.

The Resident Minister, Pastor Abraham Nimako Boateng, encouraged the congregation to support missionaries who selflessly dedicate their lives to the propagation of the gospel and had personally made requests for such support from PIWC Ablekuma some months ago.

A team of seven, comprising Elders Stephen Saka, Samuel Tetteh Nartey, Alexander Kwame Frimpong, Richard Ackom, Daniel Waka, and two members (Perpetual Ofori Boateng and Gloria Kofitse), embarked on a thrilling 2-day trip to the Kintampo Area on August 4–5, 2023, to present the items.

The team’s first stop was at Zabrama District, manned by the District Minister, Overseer Enoch Bosompeh-Frimpong, who, with great excitement, received four rechargeable speakers (HV-255) with two cordless mics each at a total cost of GHS 9,600, 10 bicycles worth GHS 5,800, 3 pairs of Marksonic mega horns worth GHS 2,250, and 8 jumbo jute sacks of clothing items. The District Minister was full of gratitude and promised to make effective use of the items to win more souls for Christ.

Also, the team donated 100 plastic chairs with metallic legs worth GHȼ8,500 to the Kwabena Num Assembly of Ntankoro District. The District minister and his wife, Pastor Samuel Katakyie-Ware, received the items on behalf of the Assembly, and they were equally grateful for the gesture.

Pastor Abraham Nimako Boateng of PIWC-Ablekuma expressed gratitude to the congregation for their unwavering support and commitment to missions.

He emphasized that such acts of kindness are at the core of the Christian faith and reflect the true essence of the mission of the Church of Pentecost.

The Mampong Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Kwabena Asare, has dedicated the mission house of the Akyeremade District in the Mampong Area to the glory of God.

Apostle Asare was assisted by Pastor Stephen Obeng Asare, the Mampong Akyeremade District Minister.

The dedication ceremony, which took place at the Mary Afia Amaniampong Temple (MAAT) auditorium on June 18, 2023, brought together people from all walks of life, including active and retired ministers, as well as officers and members of the Church.

Delivering a sermon on the topic “The Local Church Upholding Godliness” with scripture references from Matthew 5:13-15, Matthew 13:33, and 1 Timothy 6:6, Apostle Asare explained that the local church connotes a group of individuals who have believed in Jesus and are found in one community, coming together to worship at one place.

He further noted that the local church, like yeast, exists to permeate society with the values and principles of the kingdom of God.

“The local church must impact society, and as long as the church is not impacting society, then something is wrong somewhere,” he said.

According to the Mampong Area Head, “impact does not come from building temples and mission houses but rather from godliness.”

He also stressed that godliness is not about material gains but rather about living a Christ-centered life.

Apostle Asare, therefore, called on Christians to strive to please God with their lives so that people around them would see them as real representatives of Jesus Christ.

Giving a brief history of the mission house project, Elder June Gyimah said that the idea for the mission house was conceived in 2008 by Pastor S K. Asiedu (Rtd.), during his tenure as the District Minister.

The foundation for the project was started on the parcel of land adjacent to the Central Assembly church building. It, however, became necessary to relocate the building upon the advice of the immediate-past Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah (now retired) when he visited the area for the dedication of the Akyeremade Central Assembly auditorium (MAAT) in 2016.

In compliance with the recommendation, the Prophet Foster Aniakwaa-led Area Executive Committee donated a parcel of land owned by the Area in 2017 for the project.

He also acknowledged Prophet James and Apostle John Osei Amaniampong and their family, Mr. Yaw Marfo (Agya Wiase), Mr. Kofi & Deaconess Gyima, Deborah Kyei, officers, and members of the Akyeremade District, among others, for their immense contributions towards the completion of the building.

The event also had in attendance the Mampong Area pastorate and their wives, Nana Serwaa Akuamoa Boateng (Mampong Newtown Queen mother), Elder Emmanuel Kobea (Area Deacon), Elder Emmanuel Ofori Fordjour, and Elder Samuel Owusu Agyapong (former Area Deacons).

Also present were Apostle I. K. Amoako (Rtd.), Pastor Robert Odame (Rtd.), Pastor Edmund Antwi (Assemblies of God and GPCC-Mampong Chairman), and Pastor Godwin Eghaghe (Missionary from the House of Discipleship Church, Nigeria).
