Having served in the full-time ministry of The Church of Pentecost meritoriously for 25 good years, Pastor Daniel Dzah, the Nsukwao Effiduase District Minister of the church, and his wife, Mrs. Janet Dzah, have finally retired from active ministerial service.

A retirement service was held in their honour on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Nsukwao Central Assembly church auditorium. It was officiated by the Effiduase Area Head of the church, Apostle Daniel Yeboah Nsaful.

Speaking on the topic, “Well Done,” with Matthew 25:14-30 as the scriptural reference, Apostle Nsaful said that every good work ends with the congratulatory phrase ‘Well done.’

According to him, “Well done” is a form of praise and reward for those who have worked hard and ended their service well.

Apostle Nsaful lauded Pastor Dzah and his family for not despising the name of God in their deeds or action, saying: “Blessings, honour, glory, and promotion, always follow those who do their work and complete well.”

Pastor Daniel Yaw Dzah, before his call into the full-time ministry of the church in 1998, worked with the Internal Revenue Service as a Senior Tax Officer at Agona Swedru. During his 25-year ministerial service, he worked in the following stations: Twabidi from 1998 to 2004; Samreboi from 2004 to 2009; Dwenase from 2009 to 2014; Konimase from 2014 to 2018; and Nsukwa from 2018 to 2022.

A testimony read on behalf of the General Council of the Church, described Pastor Dzah as an “honest and studious man who worked to the best of his ability in producing the desired results.”

“His background in Economics helped a great deal in the prudent management of the church’s resources at various levels,” it further read.

The Effiduase Area pastorate also described their colleague as a teacher of the Word, prayerful and a passionate soul winner.

Pastor Aaron Kyei Bows Out After 37 Years In Full-Time Ministry

Tears of joy filled the eyes of Pastor Aaron Yaw Kyei, the Ashaiman Lebanon District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, and his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Kyei, as they bowed out of active service after 37 years of fruitful ministry to the glory of God.

Pastor Aaron and Mrs. Beatrice Kyei, accepted the call into full-time ministry in April 1985, at Tarkwa through the recommendation of Prophet J.K. Ennum, and have served faithfully with the backing of the Holy Spirit.

Together, they served in Sefwi Akontombra, from 1985 to 1990; Tease Kwahu in Afram Plains, from 1990 to 1995; Nungua, from 1995 to 2001; Akim Oda, from 2001 to 2007; Ashanti Bekwai, from 2007 to 2012; Bantama in Kumasi, from 2012 to 2017, and Ashaiman Lebanon, from 2017 to 2022.

A retirement service was held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the James McKeown Temple, Ashaiman Estate.

The service was officiated by the Chairman of the church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye. He was assisted by Prophet David Kankam Beditor, the Ashaiman Area Head of the church, who doubles as an Executive Council Member and Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Committee Chairman.

In a sermon on the topic, “Discretion Will Protect You,” with 2 Samuel 20:1-22 as a scriptural reference, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of the church said that despite the troubles of Israel at that time, Sheba, a troublemaker and rebel, was still careless and produced trouble.

The Chairman, however, noted that a wise woman with wisdom eliminated Sheba, and saved the whole town from death and destruction.

“The way God can deliver you from destruction is for wisdom to dwell in your heart,” he stated, saying, “If wisdom does not dwell in you, you cannot live in fulfilment of your ministry or be a good minister.”

He urged all leaders to exemplify Pastor Kyei who lived and acted with wisdom of discretion throughout his ministry, a rare trait quality he lauded him for having.

Apostle Nyamekye further admonished all and sundry to always be careful of what they had to say (the choice of it and content); where they say it (the setting); how they say it (the packaging); and when they say it (the timing).

The General Council described Pastor Kyei as a person who has a passion for evangelism and soul winning. They further noted that he effortlessly introduced Christ to everyone he came across in fulfillment of the Great Commission.

The Ashaiman Lebanon District Women’s Ministry of the church revealed that Mrs. Beatrice Kyei was affable, easy to approach, humble and a woman with admirably great respect for all and sundry, adding: “she exhibits all characteristics of a virtuous woman as projected in Proverbs 31.”

The Ashaiman Lebanon District further elaborated that the five-year tenure of Pastor Aaron Yaw and Mrs. Beatrice Akua Kyei saw massive growth and development in the church.

In their response, Pastor Aaron and Mrs. Beatrice Kyei thanked the church for its immense support and contributions to them throughout their 37 years of service.

PENSA-UEWK Members Sign Up As Social Media Ambassadors

Members of the Kumasi Campus of the University of Education Winneba (UEWK) branch of Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) have signed up in their numbers to champion the aims and objectives of The Church of Pentecost Social Media Ambassadors (COPSMA).

This was occasioned by a presentation made by Elder Joseph Bill Danquah (President of COPSMA) and Elder Prince Kojo Asare (Media Ministry, COP-Headquarters) when they fellowshipped with the students yesterday.

Addressing the congregants, Elder Danquah emphasised the need for Christians to take over the social media space for Christ. He said that this necessitated the formation of COPSMA to help boost the Church’s presence on the various platforms and saturate the space with soul-edifying content.

“The Church of Pentecost possesses the unadulterated word of God, and these messages should be saturated on social media because that is where the numbers are,” he said

Elder Asare then introduced the students to the various social media platforms of the Church, and gave them a step-by-step guide on how to subscribe to the platforms.

He, therefore, urged them to subscribe to all the digital platforms of the Church, which according to him, could all be accessed with a single link: linktr.ee/thecophq, and to encourage others to do the same.

“The first step of the COPSMA recruitment process is to subscribe to the various social media platforms. After all, you can not recommend or testify about a product to others if you have not tried it yourself,” he said.

To ensure a fruitful exercise, Pastor Isaac Donkor, the Travelling Secretary for the Kwadaso Sector, went out of his way to provide free internet access to the students.

Pastor Donkor also urged Christians not to sit on the fence but to be actively involved on social media to set the records straight, defend the faith and promote truth, especially since the media is awash with falsehoods.

The event ended with many students expressing their commitment to championing COPSMA’s vision of possessing the social media space for Christ.

The visit is part of a nationwide drive being undertaken by the leadership of COPSMA, under the auspices of the Media Ministry of the COP-Headquarters, to the PENSA branches on the various university campuses to introduce to the students the digital platforms of the Church, and to encourage them to support this new agenda.

The team has so far visited the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Takoradi Technical University (TTU), University of Education, Winneba (UEW). Pentecost University (PU) and, recently, the UEWK.

213 PWDs Receive Assistive Devices

The Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs) of The Church of Pentecost, in partnership with Joni & Friends and Covenant Family Care Missions, Ghana, has provided assistive devices to about 213 persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The exercise is in fulfilment of the ministry’s vision to project the love of Christ to PWDs by granting them opportunities to actively participate in the Kingdom business and thereby facilitate their full inclusion in society.

The MPWD is a ministry of The Church of Pentecost birthed under her five-year strategic vision, dubbed Vision 2023. It seeks to build a strong ministry to persons with disabilities (PWDs) through effective evangelism and discipleship, as well as create an enabling environment to promote their spiritual, emotional and personal growth in order to impact the church, their communities, and nations.

Yennyawoso District Women’s Ministry Appreciates Past Executive Members

The Women’s Ministry of the Yennyawoso District in New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost, has appreciated the praiseworthy effort of its outgone Executive Committee Members in a grand style.

Deaconesses Dorothy Bediako (Leader), Annie Tanoh (Assistant Leader), Janet Appau (Secretary), and Monica Boakye (Treasurer) were honoured at a special service held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the Central Assembly auditorium.

In acknowledgement of their great contribution towards the growth of the Women’s Ministry in the district, they were each presented a citation, a parcel, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Speaking on the topic: “Opportunity,” Pastor Charles Oduro, the District Minister, who chaired the event, urged Christians to grab every opportunity that comes their way.

Some of the opportunities, according to him, made available to mankind by God are life and time; repentance and salvation; being good to people (Galatians 6:9-10); being a father and husband; being a mother and wife (Judges 5:7), and being a leader.

Supporting his sermon with scriptures from John 9:4 and Ecclesiastes 3:1ff, Pastor Oduro defined opportunity as a period when a particular situation makes it possible to do or achieve something. He, however, noted that opportunity will not always be there as it can be hindered by old age, sickness, death, distance, hardship, among others. He, therefore, advised the gathering to do something momentous at every given opportunity, saying, “There can be no better time to serve God than now because what you do today determines what you will be tomorrow.”

He also applauded the outgone executive members for availing themselves to be used mightily by God to advance the kingdom business.

Present at the event were Mrs. Gladys Oduro (wife of the District Minister), Area Women’s Ministry Executive Members, Women’s Ministry Leaders of the various districts in the Area, among others.

The Church Of Pentecost Honours Late Pastor Andrews Asamoah-Baah

The Buokrom Estate Central Assembly church building, which was dedicated to the Lord last Sunday, has been named after the late retired minister of the Church, Pastor Andrews Asamoah-Baah.

The Buokrom Estate, in consultation with the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and the New Tafo area, decided to honour the late Pastor Asamoah-Baah with this gesture in view of his pioneering work at the district from 2008 to 2012 as its first District Minister.

The dedication service for the 1200-seater auditorium, now known as “Andrews Asamoah-Baah Memorial Temple” (AABMT), was officiated by the New Tafo Area Head, Apostle Samuel Antwi, with support from Pastor Emmanuel Yaw Akwaboah (Buokrom Estate District Minister) and the New Tafo Area pastorate.

The glorious event was witnessed by hundreds of members and non-members, including the wife of the late minister, Mrs Beatrice Asamoah- Baah, and other family members.

Amongst the dignitaries present at the event were Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson (Offinso Area Head), Apostle Matthew Larbi Wattey (Rtd.), Pastor Samuel Ofei Badu (Rtd.), Area Executive Committee members, and former presiding elders of the assembly.

Elder Nana Opoku Brempong I (Nkosuohene of Bosomtwe Asamanhene) and Hon. Kwame Agyemang (Assembly Member for the Buokrom Estate Electoral Area) also graced the occasion.

Exhorting the congregants with 1 Peter 2:4-10 as his Bible reference, Apostle Samuel Antwi opined that every single individual in the Church is a stone Jesus is using to build His Church, and each stone is meant to serve a distinct purpose.

He intimated that, as part of the building process, the edges of the stones would have to be shaped and re-shaped in order to make them fit for purpose.

Apostle Antwi, therefore, urged Christians to submit themselves to the correction and training of the Lord through His word and the Holy Spirit so that they would be of good use to the Chief Builder, who is Christ.

Mrs. Beatrice Asamoah-Baah, in a brief response, expressed profound gratitude to The Church of Pentecost for the great honour done her late husband.

The Buokrom Central Assembly started in 1987 with 35 members during the tenure of Pastor Paul Elisha Kesse (Rtd.) but now boasts a membership of 979. The assembly’s church building project, which began in 2006, took 16 years to complete. To God be the glory.

He said that when one provides timeous support to God’s work, they would receive the commendation of individual members, the church as a corporate body and posterity, who would tout their good works.

Pastor Gyasi, therefore, urged Christians to be Kingdom-minded and always support the Kingdom business whenever they are called upon.
