Twifo Praso Area Concludes 2025 Easter Convention With 141 New Souls

The Twifo Praso Area of The Church of Pentecost has concluded its 2025 Easter Convention in a splendid manner, winning a total of 141 souls, out of which 107 were baptised in water.

The convention, which was held under the theme, ‘That I May Know Him And The Power Of His Resurrection’ (Philippians 3:10), took place at Twifo Praso D/A B & C Basic School Park, from Wednesday, April 16 to Sunday, April 20, 2025, under the chairmanship of the Area Head, Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko.

Climaxing the convention was the ordination of 86 new officers of the church, comprising 20 elders, 23 deacons, and 43 deaconesses.

During the event, 49 members received the Holy Spirit baptism, while 78 received divine healing. The convention was attended by 7,776 members, comprising 1,408 men, 4,758 women, and 1,610 children.

Preaching the sermon to climax the convention on Sunday, Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko spoke on the topic, ‘Unleashed With The Power of The Resurrection to Transform Your World’ (Philippians 3:10, Ephesians 1:18-23, Romans 8:11). He explained that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Satan has been disarmed of his power; death is no longer a terror to the children of God, and every written code against the children of God has been canceled, thereby ushering humanity into the very presence of God.

He stated that although the stone, tomb, Pilate’s seal, soldiers, Satan, and the high priests made every effort to prevent Jesus from His resurrection, the exceedingly great and mighty power of God conquered all those obstacles and brought Him back to life. He challenged Christians to build their hope on the power that raised Jesus from the dead rather than on anything material since that power is still at work.

‘The grave is a place of darkness, loneliness, helplessness, and loss of potential, but God did not allow His Son to suffer all these. In the same way, He will never abandon you if you remain faithful to Him. You have been unleashed with the power of the resurrection to transform your world, so do not let anything terrify you,’ he emphasised.

Some of the main speakers at the convention were Pastor Paul Mensah (Area Secretary and Wassa Ateiku District Minister), Pastor Frank Larbi (Area Evangelism Ministry Leader and Twifo Praso District Minister), and Pastor Jonathan Oman Nartey (Area Children’s Ministry Leader and Wassa Akyempim District Minister), among others.

Present at the programme were Mrs Doris Otu-Nyarko (Wife of the Area Head), Pastor Solomon Kofi Edusah (retd) and his wife Martha, Mr Daniel Kojo Nyame (Managing Director of Twifo Oil Palm Plantations Ltd.), and the pastors in the Area and their spouses, among other dignitaries.

Christians Must Maintain A Distinct Identity — Prophet Tetteh Doku

Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku, the New Tafo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has called on Christians to uphold a clear and distinct spiritual identity, avoiding the blurring of lines between their faith and secular influences.

“Our identity must be clear-cut and recognisable in how we live, speak, dress, and interact with the world around us,” he stressed.

Speaking on the topic, “Identity of the New Creation” during the climax of the New Tafo Zone Easter Convention on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the New Tafo M/A Division School Park, he urged believers to fully embrace their new life in Christ as a testimony to God’s transformative power.

Referencing scripture such as John 12:24, 2 Corinthians 5:17, and Ephesians 4:22-34, Prophet Tetteh Doku highlighted the importance of believers living as true children of God by forsaking their former ways and aligning with God’s will. He noted that every new creation undergoes the experience of being born again—a process in which the Holy Spirit revitalises the believer’s dead spirit, granting them deeper understanding and insight into God’s Word.

The New Tafo Area Head also emphasisepd that being a new creation involves embodying God’s divine nature (2 Peter 1:4, Galatians 2:20), which is characterised by righteousness, holiness, love, humility, patience, and generosity.

In conclusion, Prophet Tetteh Doku urged believers to walk in great grace and power, demonstrating God’s greatness through signs and miracles, while cautioning them against being overly influenced by material wealth.

“Signs and miracles must follow you because God’s power in you is great,” he declared.

The New Tafo Zone, comprising five districts — New Tafo, Ashtown, Yennyawoso, Sepe-Buokrom, and Buokrom Estate, drew a total of over 7000 members at the conclusion of the event.

The Blood of Jesus Is A Powerful Defensive And Offensive Weapon For Believers — Pastor Amankwaatia pn

The Blood of Jesus Is A Powerful Defensive And Offensive Weapon For Believers — Pastor Amankwaatia

Pastor Benjamin Kwaku Amankwaatia, the Buokrom Estate District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has asserted that the blood of Jesus provides both protection and empowerment in the life of a believer, serving as a means of defense against spiritual harm and a tool to achieve victory in spiritual warfare.

“The blood of Jesus is both a defensive and offensive weapon for believers,” he declared.

Speaking at the New Tafo Zone Easter Convention on Good Friday morning, April 18, 2025, at the New Tafo M/A Division School Park in the New Tafo Area, under the theme, “Jesus Christ — The Lamb of God Who Takes Away the Sin of the World,” based on John 1:29, Hebrews 1:3, and 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, he focused on two key concepts: “Lamb and Sin.”

Pastor Amankwaatia explained that the term ‘lamb,’ derived from the original Greek word “arnion,” signifies ‘the exalted one.’ He emphasised that Jesus, referred to as ‘the Lamb of God,’ is gentle, compassionate, loving, and innocent— qualities that led Him to suffer willingly and die to take away the sins of the world. This, he contrasted with Satan, who embodies cruelty, wickedness, and destruction.

On the concept of ‘sin,’ he elaborated that it is translated from the Greek term “hamartia,” which means ‘missing the mark,’ ‘failure,’ ‘taking a wrong course,’ ‘wrongdoing,’ or guilt.’

Referencing John 8:34-35, James 1:15, and Romans 5:12, Pastor Amankwaatia highlighted the causes and devastating effects of sin, which necessitated atonement. He compared the Old Testament’s cumbersome process of atonement, involving repeated animal sacrifices, with Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice, which addressed sin once and for all.

“Jesus is the ultimate and perfect sacrifice for humanity,” he stated emphatically.

Pastor Amankwaatia also underscored the transformative power of Jesus’ blood, explaining that it reconciles believers to God, grants them peace with Him, and equips them to overcome the devil and his schemes, as stated in Revelation 12:10-11.

The Death Of Jesus A Divine Act Of Redemption for Humanity — Pastor Ameyaw Frimpong web

The Death Of Jesus: A Divine Act Of Redemption for Humanity — Pastor Ameyaw Frimpong

Pastor Stephen Ameyaw Frimpong, the Sepe-Buokrom District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has underscored the divine purpose of Jesus’ death in liberating humanity from sin and death.

Delivering a sermon at the New Tafo Zone Easter Convention on Thursday morning, April 17, 2025, held at the New Tafo M/A Division School Park in the New Tafo Area, he highlighted the substitutionary nature of Jesus’ death, emphasising that through Christ, believers are redeemed and reconciled to God.

Preaching on the topic “Tetelestai” under the overarching theme, “Jesus Christ—The Lamb of God who Takes Away the Sin of the World,” Pastor Ameyaw Frimpong drew from John 19:30 to illustrate the finality and sufficiency of Jesus’ sacrifice. Unlike the repeated Old Testament sacrifices for atonement, he explained, Jesus’ offering was a one-time, all-encompassing act of redemption.

He further explained that Tetelestai, a Greek term, conveys a strong sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, and victory. Jesus’ proclamation of this word on the cross, Pastor Frimpong noted, marked the culmination of His redemptive mission for mankind.

He also highlighted Jesus’ unique qualification to take away the sins of the world, rooted in His virgin birth and sinless nature. He addressed the scope of Jesus’ sacrifice, which covered original, imputed, omitted, and committed sins. He, therefore, urged believers to live in a manner worthy of their salvation, citing Romans 6:1-2 as a call to holy living.

Concluding his message, Pastor Ameyaw Frimpong referenced Matthew 27:45ff and the supernatural events surrounding Jesus’ death, reflecting on their profound significance. He reiterated that Jesus’ death was a divine act of redemption for humanity, calling on unbelievers to place their faith in Jesus for salvation.

God’s Power Is With You – Apostle Okyere Acheampong Tells Christians

The Effiduase Area Head of the of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Stephen Okyere Acheampong, has urged Christians to live in the power of the resurrection, saying, ‘The evidence of God’s power in you is in the resurrection of Christ.’

Apostle Acheampong said this in a message he delivered at the climax of the Effiduase Zone Easter Convention, held at the forecourt of Ebenezer Assembly in Effiduase, Koforidua, on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

He described power as the ability to act at any time and in any manner one desires. Power can change circumstances and affect people; it can create and destroy, he disclosed.

Quoting Exodus 9:13-16, Exodus 15:6-7, and Ephesians 1:18-21, Apostle Acheampong explained that when King Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites leave Egypt, God demonstrated His power, saving the Israelites from slavery. He noted that power is exercised in the presence of a second party, mentioning that the Egyptians subjected the Israelites to cruelty until God exercised His power over them.

Apostle Acheampong added that just as Pharaoh did not want the Israelites to leave because he benefited from them, Satan will not let people go easily. However, with the power of the resurrection, Christians have the power to break free from the bondage of the enemy.

He emphasised that when God demonstrated His power over the Egyptians, the Israelites found favour and plundered the Egyptians before leaving.

‘The power of God can turn things around in your favour,’ he added.

The Effiduase Area Head further stated that in the resurrection of Christ, God demonstrated His power, which is available to everyone who believes.

‘When God’s power is at work, anything is possible, and anyone who tries to resist will face the consequences, just as Pharaoh’s resistance resulted in the death of his son and his people,’ he cautioned.

Apostle Acheampong concluded his sermon by saying that the power of God brings restoration. The power of God raised Jesus from the dead, rolled the stone away from the tomb, seated Jesus in the highest heavens, and placed all things under His feet.

‘Just as God took Pharaoh’s power and gave it to the Israelites, God has taken Satan’s power and given it to you through the power of the resurrection. Go and exercise that power in the name of Jesus,’ he concluded.

Assin Adiembra District Celebrates Marriage Blessing Of 16 Couples

In a joyous celebration, the Assin Adiembra District of The Church of Pentecost in Assin Foso Area, witnessed the marriage blessing of 16 couples on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

The momentous occasion, held at the Assin Adiembra Central Auditorium, was a testament to the church’s commitment to promoting healthy and biblical marriages. The ceremony not only celebrated the union of the 16 couples but also served as a powerful reminder of the transformative power of biblical marriage.

Under the leadership of Pastor Ebenezer Obuade, District Minister and Area Counselling Ministry Coordinator, the ceremony was well-attended by ministers and their wives, led by the Area Head, Pastor Eric Asare, who officiated it.

Pastor Louis Martin Gaisie’s sermon, ‘Unleashed to Stand on the Pillars of Marriage to Transform Your World,’ provided a poignant reminder of the essential pillars of a thriving marriage. His exposition of Genesis 2:18-24 highlighted the significance of: Acceptance: Embracing one’s partner as a suitable helper, just as Adam accepted Eve without compulsion; Trust: Cultivating trust, exemplified by Adam and Eve’s unashamed nakedness before the Fall; Respect: Building marriage on mutual respect, as Christian couples are called to esteem and honour one another, and Love: Demonstrating selfless love, as Adam’s willingness to die for Eve illustrates the depth of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:25-33).

As Pastor Gaisie emphasised, marriages built on these four pillars have the potential to transform not only the couple’s world but also the wider community.

In an exclusive interview with some of the couples who had been together for over 30 years, their ecstatic reactions to having their marriages blessed under the ordinance were evident. The couples expressed their gratitude to the church for providing them with the opportunity to formalise their unions, as the event was fully sponsored by the Assin Adiembra District.

This ceremony will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the couples and the wider community, inspiring a new generation to build their marriages on the unshakeable foundation of God’s word.

Life Without Christ Is Crisis – Mrs Yeboah Tells Unbelievers

The District Women’s Ministry Leader of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC)-Graceland, in the Teshie-Nungua Area of The Church of Pentecost, Deaconess Mrs Eunice Yeboah, has stated that anyone who does not have Christ leads a life full of crisis.

According to her, ‘A Christless life is a hopeless life.’ Mrs Yeboah made this statement during a sermon at the just ended Easter convention held by the PIWCs and Worship Centres of the Teshie-Nungua Area at GHACEM Park, Sakumono, Accra.

Speaking on the theme, ‘The Crucified Christ is Alive,’ taken from Acts 3:14 and Ephesians 4:1, on the evening of Saturday, April 19, 2025, she urged people to have an experiential knowledge of Jesus Christ.

‘You can be saved irrespective of your background, status, achievements, or level of education in society,’ she emphasised.

Mrs Yeboah noted that some people are still living unworthy lives and, as a result, do not experience God’s blessings and benefits. She entreated them to repent from any kind of sin they are living in, since those who sin will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

‘Jesus is coming again, and a time is coming when you will either belong to heaven or hell. Take advantage of Jesus’ death to give your life to Him so that your salvation is assured. If you miss heaven, you cannot miss hell. Heaven is a place of glory, gold, and peace,’ she reiterated.

Mrs Yeboah referenced Isaiah 53:5, explaining that Jesus Christ was pierced for the transgressions of humanity, crushed for their iniquities, and the punishment that brought them peace was upon Him, and by His wounds, believers are healed. She further explained that according to John 3:3, unless one is born again, they cannot see the kingdom of God.

‘When you accept Jesus, there is a certain exchange in the spiritual and physical realms that changes your status. Allow the Holy Spirit to move you to a place of glory,’ she said.

‘Jesus Christ is alive because the tomb is empty,’ she declared, adding, ‘Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need’ (Hebrews 4:16).

She enumerated some of the benefits of accepting the Lord Jesus as Saviour, including eternal life, a future, and a hope (Colossians 3:27).

‘God has a glorious inheritance for you; do not let Him pass you by this Easter convention,’ she concluded.

The service was intergenerational, with various ministries and choirs from the worship centres ministering in songs.

The Resurrection Is The Cornerstone Of Our Faith – Apostle Wilberforce Nkrumah-Agyeman

The Teshie-Nungua Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Wilberforce Nkrumah-Agyeman, has reiterated that the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian faith.

‘This affirms that death has been defeated and that eternal life is available to all who believe,’ he said.

Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman made this statement on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at PIWC–Sakumono auditorium during the English Zone Easter convention of the Pentecost International Worship Centres and the Worship Centres in the area.

According to Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman, Christ’s crucifixion was not surrounded by religious grandeur or ceremony; instead, it occurred in the most humiliating and desolate circumstances.

‘Our God is alive, and this reveals a poignant truth about the nature of Christian life and what truly matters in the Christian journey,’ he said.

Speaking on the theme for the convention, ‘The Crucified Christ is Alive,’ and referencing scriptures from Acts 3:15 and Revelation 19:11, Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman recounted the story from Acts 3:15 of the paralytic man at the Beautiful Gate of the temple for 40 years.

He prayed for the congregation to receive the Beautiful Gate experience, saying, ‘Whatever is troubling you, receive the Beautiful Gate experience. Whatever God has said about you will surely be established in the mighty name of Jesus.”

Touching on the lessons gleaned from the death of Jesus Christ, Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman said the crucifixion is actually the pathway to life and victory. He also stated that God’s ways and purposes often subvert human expectations, transforming pain and death into hope and life.

‘Salvation is accessible to all, including the marginalised and sinners, represented by the thieves on the cross. No one is beyond redemption,” he added.

He encouraged the congregation to give their all in serving the Lord, emphasising the transient nature of life.

‘We will leave everything behind when we die. In the end, we cannot take our wealth, status, or achievements with us; we will leave it all behind,’ he said.

He further stated that Jesus Christ was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles but on a cross between two thieves. This means He identified with human beings, choosing to suffer shame so that humanity can enjoy the blessings from heaven.

He stated: ‘Jesus bears our pains, sorrows, and agony, and He always identifies with our struggles in life,’ he said.

He cautioned the Christians to have a good heart devoid of jealousy, revenge, hate, and other social vices, and to embrace love, kindness, and the virtues that make one a good Christian.

Resurrection Power Unites Believers Cith Christ – Apostle Kumi-Larbi web

Resurrection Power Unites Believers With Christ – Apostle Kumi-Larbi

The former General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has revealed that the resurrection power of Christ unites believers and assures them of eternal life and spiritual elevation, sharing in His victory over sin and death.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi, who is an Executive Council member and current Ashaiman Area Head of the church, said this on Sunday, April 20, 2025, during the climax of the Ashaiman Area 2025 Easter Convention held at Kakasunaka No. 1 Park, Michel Camp.

Speaking on the theme, ‘The Empty Grave: A Sign of the Resurrection Power,’ he indicated that Jesus Christ uniquely prophesied His death and resurrection, distinguishing Him from all other religious figures.

Referencing Matthew 12:38–40, he drew parallels between Jonah’s three days in the belly of the whale and Jesus’ resurrection on the third day, highlighting the fulfillment of prophecy and the divine nature of Christ’s mission.

‘The empty tomb is not just a historical fact; it’s the cornerstone of our faith,’ Apostle Kumi-Larbi declared. He cited 1 Corinthians 15:1–8 to affirm that the Christian’s belief is anchored in the death and resurrection of Jesus, events corroborated by multiple eyewitness accounts, including appearances to Mary Magdalene, Peter, James, and over 500 others.

Addressing the skepticisms surrounding the resurrection, Apostle Kumi-Larbi refuted theories suggesting that Jesus merely fell into a coma, that His body was stolen, or that witnesses experienced hallucinations. He pointed to John 19:33–34, which details the piercing of Jesus’ side, as evidence of His actual death, thereby validating the miracle of His resurrection.

‘The resurrection is God’s affirmation of Jesus as His Son and our Saviour,’ he stated, adding, ‘It guarantees our own resurrection and signifies Christ’s ultimate victory over death.’

Drawing from Colossians 3:1–4 and Ephesians 2:6, Apostle Kumi-Larbi encouraged believers to live in the reality of their union with Christ, seated with Him in the heavenly realms. He urged Christians to shed sinful behaviours and embrace a life reflective of their resurrected Lord.

‘Because the tomb is empty, we have every reason to celebrate,’ he said, adding, ‘Let us live as people transformed by the resurrection, embodying the hope and power it brings.’

The Area Head joined the Michel Camp Zone, which comprises the Goshen, Michel Camp, and Gbetsile Districts.

The Story Of Easter Is Trustworthy, Full Of Truth – Apostle Kwafo Affirms web

The Story Of Easter Is Trustworthy, Full Of Truth – Apostle Kwafo Affirms

The National Coordinator of the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, has declared that the story of Easter is not a folklore but trustworthy and full of truth.

According to him, the purpose of Easter includes the journey from Gethsemane to Jerusalem, where the disciples received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Without these key events, he stressed, the celebration of Easter is incomplete, saying, ‘This story is not a folktale.’

He said this during the Mamprobi Zone 2025 Easter Convention in the Dansoman Area held at the Mamprobi Worship Centre (MWC).

Speaking on the theme, ‘The Purpose of the Death of Jesus” (Hebrews 2:10, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4), Apostle Kwafo stated that the message of Easter has the power to transform the dead into life, turn drunkards into resourceful individuals, and bring healing and restoration.

He underscored that the Easter story encapsulates the suffering of Jesus from Gethsemane through to Golgotha. The suffering of Christ did not end at the cross; it continued through His resurrection and post-resurrection encounters with the disciples – culminating at Bethany, where He ascended into glory.

Citing Isaiah 6:1, ‘It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord,’ he encouraged the Christians to believe that they, too, would testify of divine interventions in their marriages and lives during this year’s convention, saying, ‘The visitation of the Lord will come upon us all. May this convention draw us closer to Jesus.’

He further urged Christians to proclaim the Easter message to the nations. Reflecting on the events at the tomb, he referenced Luke 23:39-43, affirming: ‘Jesus died, resurrected, ascended into Heaven, and will come again.’

He addressed common misconceptions about Easter, stating that while many may argue that Jesus who was crucified is not the true Son of God, ‘This Jesus is the one who suffered during Easter. He is the Son of God – God Himself – who humbled Himself to be born of the Virgin Mary through divine fertilization.’

Referencing Luke 23, Apostle Kwafo painted a vivid picture of Jesus’ journey to the cross. He outlined the purpose of Jesus’ death, emphasising that Jesus came to destroy Satan and his works.

‘Since the creation of Adam, life has been temporary and death permanent. No descendant of Adam has reversed this pattern, until Jesus. He changed the record: ‘Death is temporary, but life in Him is eternal.’”

He further stated: ‘Anyone who accepts and believes in Christ receives eternal life, for Christ has disarmed the power of sin and death.’

Apostle Kwafo affirmed that ‘the death of Jesus has fully dealt with sin, sickness, generational curses, joblessness, and more. To overcome these, we must exercise our faith in Christ.’

He concluded with a bold declaration: ‘If God does not and cannot sin, then we, as Christians, cannot live in sin. Any Christian who continues in sin is not a true member of the body of Christ. We are not slaves to sin because we are born anew in Christ.’

In attendance were Mrs Agartha Agyei Kwafo, wife of HUM Coordinator, the pastorate of the Mamprobi Zone, officers and members of the church.
