Apostle Nyamekye Urges Believers To Anchor Their Lives On God’s Word

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has urged Christians to prioritise the study and application of the Word of God as the foundation for a fruitful and impactful life.

He made this call during a Sunday service on March 22, 2026, at the Dr. Thomas Wyatt Memorial Temple, where he spoke on the theme, “The Seed Is The Word.”

Apostle Nyamekye explained that the Church’s 2026 theme reflects its divine mandate to influence and transform society. He noted that the gospel, when empowered by the Holy Spirit, has the capacity to bring about meaningful change not only in individuals but also in societal systems.

Drawing from Luke 8:11, he described the “seed” as the Word of God—the only means through which believers can understand God’s mind. Referencing Mark 4:13–19, he cautioned against drifting from the Word, particularly in times of pressure, noting that neglect often leads to spiritual instability.

Quoting Deuteronomy 32:45–47, he stressed that the Word of God is life itself and warned that disregarding it can jeopardise one’s future. He further described the Word as God’s agent of sanctification and a “double-edged sword” effective for both offence and defence in spiritual warfare.

He observed that many believers live in fear and unproductivity due to their lack of commitment to Scripture, emphasising that the Word carries transformative power when internalised and spoken.

Citing John 8:31, he stated that true discipleship is rooted in abiding in Christ’s teachings, noting that the knowledge of the truth brings freedom.

Apostle Nyamekye encouraged believers to remain strong and courageous, assuring them that good success comes through obedience to the Word of God.

The Holy Spirit’s Power Brings Transformation — General Secretary Declares

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobia, has called on believers to yield to the Holy Spirit to experience a total transformation in their lives.

He made this call when he, together with his wife, Mrs. Juliana Korkor Obuobia, joined the Michelle Camp District for the climax of its District Week celebration, dubbed Transformation Conference 2026, held at the Michelle Camp Central Assembly.

Preaching on the theme, “The Transformative Power of the Holy Spirit,” Apostle Obuobia explained that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of power who brings profound change in the life of every believer. Quoting Acts 1:8, he noted that the Holy Spirit empowers Christians with divine ability, efficiency, and might to become effective witnesses of Christ.

Drawing lessons from the life of King Saul, he emphasised that a genuine encounter with the Holy Spirit begins with a transformation of the heart, which ultimately leads to a complete change in a person’s life. According to him, “when the Spirit of God comes upon a person, He gives him another heart and turns him into another man.”

Apostle Obuobia further stated that the transformative power of the Holy Spirit enables believers to operate in the supernatural, citing the experiences of the apostles who performed extraordinary miracles through the power of the Spirit.

He added that beyond transformation, the Holy Spirit also leads individuals into their God-ordained destiny, irrespective of their background or limitations.

He urged believers to develop a deep hunger and thirst for God and continually yield to the Holy Spirit in order to live transformed and purposeful lives.

HUM Leads Massive Drug Abuse Awareness Drive Among PENSEC Students

The Koforidua Sector of Home and Urban Missions, a ministry of The Church of Pentecost, has intensified its commitment to youth empowerment by organising a drug addiction awareness campaign at Pentecost Senior High School in Koforidua.

The programme, held on March 22, 2026, drew over 2,000 students who were educated on the realities of substance abuse and its growing threat to young people. Facilitators guided the students through discussions on the meaning of addiction, commonly abused substances, and the social, academic, and spiritual consequences of drug misuse. Particular emphasis was placed on how substance abuse undermines discipline, academic excellence, and future aspirations.

Key speakers included Overseer James Amoa-Mensah, HUM Pastor for the Koforidua Sector, and Dr Mrs Grace Owusu Aboagye, a consultant pharmacist and psychiatrist, who provided professional insights into the medical and psychological dimensions of addiction. Overseer Richard Da-Rocha, Chaplain of PENSEC, also participated in the event, reinforcing the school’s commitment to moral and spiritual formation.

The campaign also featured counselling sessions facilitated by a team of professionals and HUM workers. Many students responded positively, with more than 100 learners receiving personal counselling support during the exercise. In a remarkable spiritual outcome, about 120 students made decisions to accept Christ, reflecting the programme’s gospel-centred approach.

The initiative was supported by Cowbell Twisco, which provided refreshments for participants and rewarded students who performed well in the interactive quiz segment.

The campaign forms part of a broader strategy by HUM to partner with senior high schools within the sector to combat drug abuse, promote responsible behaviour, and encourage students to remain focused on their academic and spiritual development. The ministry continues to target vulnerable and unreached groups as part of its evangelistic and social outreach mandate.
