Bogoso Area Donates PPEs To Three Health Facilities

The Bogoso Area of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with the 17 districts in the Area, has presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to Wassa Akropong Hospital, Prestea Government Hospital and Bogoso Health Centre to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The items presented were 30 gallons of parazone, 150mls bottles of hand sanitizers, 25 gallons of liquid soap, 50 pieces of disposable gloves, 20 boxes of surgical gloves, 200 pieces of facemasks, 25 rolls of Jumbo tissue paper, seven gun thermometers, six gallons of floor cleaners, nine packs of dust bin liners, six overall gowns, and 20 pedal-operated dust bins worth about GH¢20,000.

The Area is also constructing a shelter for the Bogoso Health Centre to enhance social distancing protocol.

Presenting the items on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, the Area Head, Apostle Onyinah Gyamfi, said that the gesture was part of the church’s contribution towards the fight against the Coronavirus disease.

He added that the presentation was part of the church’s effort to fulfil 2020 theme of the church which is “A Glorious Church to Possess the Nations.”

Apostle Onyinah Gyamfi noted that the Coronavirus disease is a reality. He, therefore, admonished frontline health workers and Ghanaians at large to abide by all the preventive measures prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Government to protect themselves from the disease.

Receiving the items on behalf of the three health facilities, a Principal Nursing Officer at the Bogoso Health Centre, Mrs Joyce Agbeko, who is also the wife of Pastor J. W. K. Agbeko of Adwenpa District, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty God for leading the church to embark on the gesture. She also thanked the Area Head and his team for the donation.

She, on behalf of the beneficiary facilities, promised to use the items for the intended purpose.

According to Mrs Agbeko, the shelter under construction at the Bogoso Health Centre will help solve the problem of overcrowding of patients at waiting areas at the facility.

Among the dignitaries present at the presentation ceremony were the wife of the Area Head, Mrs Martha Onyinah Gyamfi, the Area Pastorate and the representative of the Area Health Committee team.
