Baatsona District Supports Vulnerable In Church, Community

The Baatsona District in the Teshie-Nungua Area of The Church of Pentecost, has donated assorted essential food items worth GH¢ 7,000.00 to some church members and deprived families in the community, numbering 110.

The items, which include bags of rice, sugar, cooking oil, bread, tin tomatoes and sachet water, were presented to the beneficiaries on Monday, 6th April, 2020.

Making the donation, the District Minister, Pastor Fred Antwi, said the items were voluntarily financed by some members of the church and partly supported by the district.

He added that the Church, as an agent of transformation, has a social responsibility towards the wellbeing of the community in which it dwells.

“It is in this spirit that the church sees it as a privilege to present these few items, especially in this challenging season to assist them as they observe the lockdown,” he said.

According to Pastor Antwi, the gesture will continue God-willing next week Monday, 13th April, 2020, and be extended to some other families. He, therefore, called on all who will like to contribute to this wonderful course to come on board.

The recipients were full of joy and appreciation to the church for the timely intervention since they were contemplating how they were going to cope with the situation.

Present were some officers of the district as well as the wife of the District Minister, Mrs. Queenzy Antwi.
