The Assin Foso Area of The Church of Pentecost has launched the Area Squad Project, an evangelistic initiative aimed at mobilising members to actively reach out to lost souls and support the Church’s 2026 Strategic Church Growth Plan.
The project was launched and the squads commissioned on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Foso Station Central, under the auspices of the Area Head, Apostle Eric Asare.
The initiative forms part of the Church’s 800,000 Souls Project, a strategic vision of The Church of Pentecost launched by the Executive Council under the chairmanship of the Chairman, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye.
Speaking at the launch and commissioning service on the theme “Rescue the Lost” with reference from Luke 15:4–7, Apostle Eric Asare emphasised the responsibility of Christians to seek out those who have become disconnected from God.
He explained that God was concerned about every lost soul and had entrusted believers with the responsibility of becoming channels through which such people could be reached with the Gospel.
According to him, lost souls could be found in three broad settings described in Scripture as the wilderness, home and a far country. He contextualised these settings to include immediate surroundings, ghettos, marketplaces, business centres, offices, farmlands, schools and hospitals, among other places.
Commissioning the squads, Apostle Asare charged the members to go out boldly and win souls for Christ. He announced that every local assembly with more than 150 adult members was expected to form a squad of 10 members, with each member tasked to win at least three souls every month.
Assemblies with fewer than 150 adult members, he said, were expected to form squads of six members, with each member tasked to win at least one soul every month.
The Area Head stated that the project would run from September to December 2026, giving the squads a defined period within which to pursue their soulwinning targets.
The Area Evangelism Leader and conductor of the programme, Pastor Paul Atsu Dekaglo, reinforced the call for members to actively pursue lost souls, urging them to take a bold step of faith and “launch into the deep” in their evangelistic efforts.
A total of 287 squad members drawn from the various districts in the Assin Foso Area were prayed for and commissioned by the Area Head to undertake the assignment.
