Allow Children To Project Their Spiritual Endowments – Children’s Director To The Church

The Director of the Children’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Fred Tiakor, has called on the adult church to allow children to showcase their spiritual endowments in the church’s quest to possess the nations.

Speaking in an interview with PENTECOST NEWS on Friday, September 6, 2019, as part of this year’s Children’s Week Celebration, Apostle Tiakor made a passionate appeal to parents to create the enabling environment for children to unearth their potentials in order to build a solid church for tomorrow.

“The church is on the verge of possessing the nations. Children are part of building the church; we want them to project to the church public what they can do. This is the age of transformation and we want the church to move with the children because they are tomorrow’s leaders,” he said, adding, “No one should hinder them from exhibiting their potentials. Let’s give them prominence in the church.”

Touching on the theme for this year’s celebration, “I Will Build My Church: Children Are A Part” (Matt. 16:18, Titus 2:13-14), Apostle Tiakor said it is geared towards sensitising the adult church to accept children as bona fide members of the church so that they will be included in all church activities and programmes.

“We should also consider the children as agents of transformation. God can use them to change the face of society. We want to use this period to demonstrate to the adult church what the Lord can do through children,” he said.

He, therefore, called for a change of mind and attitude towards children.

The Children’s Director made a passionate appeal to all adults to participate fully in the Week’s activities, especially on Sunday. He further appealed to presiding elders and local presbyteries to allow children the free hand to operate by taking over the entire activities of the church on Sunday.

He mentioned some of the activities that the children of the church across the country embarked on during the week’s celebration, which included clean up exercises, evangelism crusades and visitation to orphanages and hospitals. He added that Sunday will be used to project the spiritual endowments of the children through activities like Bible recitals, preaching the gospel, drama, among others.
