A-Lang Worship Centre Organises Free General Health Screening For Community

In commemoration of its 10th anniversary, A-Lang Worship Centre in the Odorkor Area of The Church of Pentecost organised a free health screening for the residents of the A-Lang community on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

The event, held at the A-Lang Taxi Rank (station), garnered significant attention from both residents and non-members of the Church, contributing to an impressive turnout.

The initiative was made possible through a collaborative effort with Enchill’s Foundation, Maon Medical Centre, Beaver Dental Clinic, and Dr. Agarwal Eye Centre. A team of seasoned medical professionals spearheaded the health screening, employing advanced techniques to conduct thorough examinations. The comprehensive screenings encompassed a range of health conditions, including but not limited to Hepatitis B, Diabetes, Hypertension (Blood Pressure), Malaria, Typhoid, and Dental cleaning.

Throughout the exercise, health officials not only addressed immediate medical needs but also imparted valuable knowledge on healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare. In the end, a total of 170 individuals received medical care during the exercise. Beyond the health-related services provided, the event served as a unique platform to share the Gospel message of Jesus Christ with residents and non-members of the Church.

For ten years, A-Lang Worship Centre has been a pillar of faith, hope, and support for our community. Throughout this journey, we have witnessed countless lives transformed through spiritual guidance, love, and compassion. In the spirit of giving back to the community, the church organised the exercise to provide free healthcare to the residents. According to the Resident Minister, Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, the event is not only a celebration of the church’s anniversary but also an expression of the love of Christ to all.

The weeklong celebration, which was held from Monday, November 6, featured several activities including a thanksgiving service, video documentary premiere, revival service, a strategic forum, a variety night, and was climaxed with a Homecoming Service, where hosted past ministers, officers, and members. The celebration kickstarted in grand style with a float parade throughout the A-Lang community on Sunday, November 5.

The anniversary was under the theme: “Celebrating 10 Years of Revival and God’s Faithfulness for Maximum Impact” (Lamentation 3:22-23).
