The New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost has successfully ended its 2019 Lay Leadership Training School at four zonal centres.
The training programme, which involved ministers, their wives and the laity within the Area, took place from August 12 to 16, 2019.
The 5-day training programme was under the auspices of the Area Head, Apostle Samuel Antwi. It sought to equip the participants with the requisite knowledge, basic skills and principles to enable them shepherd the flocks that have been entrusted to their care.
The course module for the training school was structured to comprise Advanced Level and the Foundation Level. It was held in two sessions, morning and evening, with the Advanced Level scheduled for both sessions whilst the Foundation Level was for the evening sessions only.
Topics treated at the Advanced Level included, “Some Contemporary Worldviews,” “Effective Children’s Ministry in the Local Church,” “Ushering and Protocol in the Local Church” and “Aspects of Environmental Care.” The Foundation Level also dealt with lessons on, “The Church of Pentecost In Perspective,” and “Pentecostalism and its Distinctiveness.”
As part of the event, some officers were ordained to join the workforce of the Church in the Area.
Speaking at the closing session, the Area Coordinator for Discipleship and Leadership Development Committee, Pastor Frederick Sarfo, commended the facilitators and the participants for their time, dedication and commitment.
He, therefore, entreated the participants not to neglect the knowledge, understanding, insight and the skills they acquired but to positively transform lives in their respective locals, districts and communities.
