The Odorkor Area Men’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has donated assorted food items and toiletries to inmates of the Weija Leprosarium.
The donation, which took place on Saturday, June 15, 2019, was part of activities marking the 2019 Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) Week celebration.
The items comprised bags of rice, sugar, tins of milk, cooking oil, detergents, Key Soap, toilet roll and boxes of bottled purified water.
The delegation of Area PEMEM Executive Committee Members was led by Pastor Emmanuel Abeo Tetteh (the Area PEMEM Leader). The team was warmly received on arrival by staff and inmates of the Leprosarium.
Presenting the items to officials of the leprosarium, Pastor Tetteh, who doubles as the Weija District Minister, said that the donation is in line with “Possessing the Nations” agenda of The Church of Pentecost. He was hopeful that the donation would go a long way to meet some immediate needs of inmates.
He noted that persons who suffer from leprosy are usually neglected by society, hence, the Men’s Ministry thought it wise to reach out to them and demonstrate the love of Christ towards them. He was hopeful that through the donation other benevolent individuals would be touched and compelled to also come to the aid of inmates.
The officials and inmates were very excited and expressed profound gratitude to the team for their kind gesture. They also gave the delegation a tour around the art gallery of the Leprosarium to see some of the crafts of the inmates.
