The Twifo Praso District in the Assin Fosu Area of The Church of Pentecost has celebrated its first prayer conference in 2019.

The conference which was held at Asikafo Assembly auditorium started from 7th to 31st January, 2019 under the chairmanship of the District Minister, Pastor Vincent Ephraim Amegah, was on the theme, “I Will Build My Church” (Matthew 16:18) which is the 2019 theme of the Church.

Delivering the sermon to climax the programme on Sunday, the Area Head for Tamale, Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani, called on Christians to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ in their daily activities in order for them to win more souls into the kingdom of God.

Touching on the 2019 theme of the Church, Apostle Djani called on Christians to lead lives worthy of emulation, because God needs humanity to tell others about His kingdom.

Apostle Kotei Djani who doubles as a Member of the Executive Council of the Church made a passionate appeal to officers of the Church to help groom the youth, adding that, “Whether you like it or not, you will one day hand over the baton to the youth, so instead of humiliating them for their mistakes, encourage them to dedicate their lives to God.”

“Jesus said He will build His Church; you are the Church because the Holy Spirit lives in you. The Church is a mobile one and not stationary, and by extension, it is to embark on aggressive evangelism to help depopulate the kingdom of Satan,” he said.

He stated the need for Christians to desire for a divine revelation from God about His Son Jesus Christ, saying, “You are an agent of transformation, so prepare to be an agent of suffering. Seek for the power of God, fellowship very well with others, and allow the Holy Spirit to operate through you, for you are precious before God.”

The Resident Minister, Pastor Vincent Ephraim Amegah, also encouraged the members to focus on Christ. “You have started the year 2019 with Jesus Christ, so ensure that you remain faithful to Him in spite of the hardships, trials and persecutions you will go through,” he said.

Present at the event were the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.) for the Central Regional Directorate of Education, Elder Alexander Smart Tawiah, the Assin North Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Joseph Rockson Asante, and the Assemblymen for Bimgong Egya and Twifo Dwendaama Electoral Areas, Elders (Hon.) Ringo Gottah and Ignatus Obeng respectively, among others.
