In order to lead victorious Christian lives, Christians must always be conscious of the fact that they are saved and that they ought not to behave like unbelievers.
They must distinguish themselves from the people of the world by accepting and living their new nature in Christ as people created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
This was contained in the message titled: “The Christian As An Agent of Transformation” delivered by the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, on Sunday, February 17, 2019, when he fellowshipped with members of PIWC-Suame to climax his visit to the Suame Area.
Apostle Eric Nyamekye read 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 and Ephesians 4:17-19 to emphasize that Christians must put off their former selves and accept that they are new creations in Christ. He said that God has created them to be like Himself in order to continue Jesus Christ’s ministry of reconciling humankind back to God.
The Chairman explained that, like yeast, Christians, who have been made ambassadors of Christ, must push the agenda of God on earth and influence all spheres of life with Kingdom principles and values.
“It is not enough to be born again. We must permeate every aspect of life and our national culture with the new life of righteousness and holiness we have received in Christ,” he said.
He, therefore, urged Christians to live up to their mandate as the Salt of the Earth to heal the ills in the world, and also as Light of the World, to drive away the darkness that has engulfed the world (Matthew 5:13).
