The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, has emphasised the transformative power of the word of God, stating that it has the capacity to change not only individuals but also cultures and societal systems.

Speaking on the theme, “The Seed Is the Word,” during a service at the Lakeside Central and English Assemblies in the Kete-Krachi Area on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Apostle Nyamekye noted that God’s Word remains the primary instrument through which He builds, blesses, and prospers His people.

According to him, faith in the word of God positions both individuals and communities for divine prosperity and lasting impact. He cited the example of King David’s final charge to Solomon in 1 Kings 2:1-3, stressing that David’s instruction to keep the law of the Lord underscores the importance of obedience to God’s commands.

Apostle Nyamekye further highlighted the inclusive nature of the gospel, explaining that regardless of one’s background, sin, or past mistakes, Christ extends an open invitation to all who are burdened and in need of rest.

Referencing Acts 20:32, he stated that the word of God has the power to build believers up and grant them an inheritance among those who are sanctified. He reiterated that the Church does not rely on charms, magical substances, or ritual objects but on the preaching of God’s word and faith in Jesus Christ, who alone performs miracles.

“The word of God is both truth and grace,” he explained, adding that believers who walk in God’s truth experience His grace, which enables them to prosper and fulfil His purposes. Quoting John 1:14, he reminded the congregation that Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, full of grace and truth.

The Chairman described the word of God as the most valuable inheritance that one generation can pass on to another. He noted that those who treasure God’s instructions, obey them, and allow them to shape their lives will increasingly reflect God’s character and enjoy true prosperity.

Encouraging believers to develop a deeper appreciation for Scripture, Apostle Nyamekye said that hearing and embracing the Word brings blessing and transformation. He urged Christians to prioritise fellowship and pay close attention to biblical teachings whenever they gather in worship.

Drawing lessons from the life of Abraham, he observed that obedience to God’s word can sometimes be painful and demanding. He, however, stressed that God’s grace accompanies those who choose obedience, even when it requires sacrifice.

Apostle Nyamekye also encouraged families to make the word of God the foundation of their homes, marriages, and child upbringing. He advised business people to conduct their affairs with integrity and moderation rather than pursuing excessive profit at the expense of others, assuring them that God’s blessing follows those who honour His principles.

He concluded by reminding the congregation that every encounter with the word of God is an encounter with Christ Himself. He, therefore, urged believers to open their hearts to God’s word, embrace its teachings, and allow it to shape their future.

“From today, change your attitude towards the word of God,” he charged, expressing confidence that those who receive and obey God’s word will experience His grace, power, and blessing in every area of life.

Present at the service were Apostle Benjamin Quaye Offei-Badu (National Coordinator, Home and Urban Missions); Pastor Charles K. Fosu (Kete-Krachi Area Head); pastors in the Krachi Zone, government officials, traditional rulers and the church populace.
